Pattric_b
In todays world, you must respect loyalty Following me skipping the Cardiff interview accidentally, I received this in my inbox. Pattric_b
Another huge win in the FA Cup. Rotherham are also a championship team so I'm very pleased with how we are playing lately. We get Derby in the fifth round who are also in the championship lol

Pattric_b
Tough offer It appears I've impressed someone at Hull by beating them in the FA Cup. They are in the championship right now but it isn't looking very good for them. Way down in last place is Hull City... This makes this offer very difficult because it is technically possible to avoid relegation but it's unlikely. Meanwhile at Crawley we are in 3rd place. There was a time we were actually only 5 points off first... then our rough patch happened. The past two months have been very inconsistent and saw us lose our automatic promotion place to Peterborough as a result. So overall, this is a tough decision. Do I risk taking the Hull job, where I'm expected to avoid relegation in the championship and possibly get sacked again if I can't provide a miracle. Or do I stick it out with Crawley and keep fighting to get us promoted and potentially stay in League one anyway. Decisions, decisions...
Pattric_b
And here we go! I decided to take the risk and move to Hull. My only goal is to avoid relegation at all costs.
Mandy42
that is an interesting choice! Keep them up and then build for next season, or go down and see if you get another year to bounce straight back. Will you pass Crawley on the way down if they come up, or will you be pitted against them next season, either together in the Championship or in League one. Lots of possible permutations, stay tuned to find out!

I've had Crawley punching above their weight all season so the chances that they get promoted are also unlikely. If I had to bet I'd say we are both in league one next season... that is if Hull don't sack me for getting relegated!
Pattric_b
Coming down to the wire Our future looked dark after Boswell got a red card, but somehow we found a way through. Not only did we score the equalizer when we were a man down. We also scored the go ahead and insurance goal late in the game! A remarkable comeback! But as you can see the reality of the situation is we are 7 points from safety with only 9 points left to earn. Our win against QPR was absolutely necessary in order to stay in the race for safety but it still doesn't look too great. This is QPR remaining matches and I honestly can see them losing them all. All those teams are high up the table. So let's hope!
Pattric_b
Two games left... still hanging on. Basically if QPR win another game we are done for lol Burnley is in 3rd and Brentford is in 18th. Pray for me...

Pattric_b
Status Update July 2036: I took the risk taking over Hull and the risk hasn't paid off. Oh well. The importance is to learn your lesson and move on. Doesn't help that Crawley went and got promoted though... So following the conclusion of this years EURO's there have been mass managerial sackings (Italy won). That's not the only place we are seeing a mass exodus, at my current club Hull we are watching all of my best players hold us for ransom and walking out the door for cheap. Even still we are still being made favorites to win the league. All of the above nations I applied too have much higher reputation than Hull so I will take that job if offered. Pattric_b
Dec 2036 Moving through the new season smoothly and yet to be defeated in the league. Promotion looks pretty safe at this point even after losing a decent amount of our key players from last year. The key has been our loanee strikers: Along with They both have been absolute revelations and the key to our season going to plan. Their 31 goals combined about midway through the season are the main reason we are where we are in the league and look sure to go straight back up. Pattric_b
2037 CHAMPIONS! We managed to bounce straight back up with 6 matches left to go! This is the 6th trophy of my career. Surprisingly we got two interviews with Premier league clubs in the recent months, yes they are mostly bottom of the table/battling relegation but still this is a testament to our rising reputation in the game. Higher reputation clubs are starting to pay attention to my accomplishments. At the start of the season I did not think we would steamroll the league like we did. We had major dressing room problems and a lot of players were being extremely negative. Luckily, me ignoring most of the troublesome players worked. There were a few I sold because I got nice offers but the rest I kept decided they now want to stay following our promotion back to the Championship. Pattric_b
Pre season June 2037 I think someone should remind my chairman we only just got promoted. Even the season we got relegated from the championship we weren't a mid table side. Maybe our fantastic season in League one got the chairman over excited? I don't know but this will have to be a strong transfer window for us if we are to meet the expectation set by mr. Morgan.
Hootieleece
Learn to play defensive and make the most of Set Piece's...that is what I do upon promotion. I also scout a mid-table side to know what are average attributes for players in the league. Then I start by raiding the recently relegated from the current league teams or get loans of young players from the division above.
Pattric_b
December 2037 Firstly, I made the decision to put our entire transfer budget (900k) towards our wage budget in an effort to try to loan the best players possible. The plan seemed to work out as we brought in very talented youth players to the club. As you can see we brought in very talented youth players and they are the reason we are performing well above expectations. Vernon is currently the top goal scorer in the championship! I chose not to abandon my philosophy of playing attacking, exciting football. I pray that when the AI starts to adapt to our tactics we don't fall too far into a slump. I have also been getting quite a few job interviews from top division clubs. A lot in France but I turned them all down for now because getting Hull promoted is my priority at the moment. The only thing that would tempt me away is an offer from a club like United, Arsenal, Spurs, etc but those offers aren't going to come yet.

I normally don't mess with set pieces too much but this year I have my teams playing it short when possible because I feel better chances can be created that way. So far I don't see a huge difference lol. My game plan was to just try and loan the most talented players possible and we were pretty successful. We also got some good players in on free transfers and those two factors have been instrumental in our, up to now, very successful league campaign. Pattric_b
April 2038 We have won the Championship!!! Even I didn't see this coming lol. Our loanees have without a doubt carried us this season and I owe a lot to each and every one of them as well as the players under contract with the club. I will be interesting to see what kind of transfer budget we are given for the summer window. My goal was to finish the season tonight after work and thats exactly what we've done I flew through the second half of the season today after work and really locked in. And as a result, towards mid April I got a dream contract offer from the chairman. I am as of now the highest paid person at the club, how it should be! Next season will be very interesting and I will probably talk tactics for the first time in my career thread. Also an interesting side note, after my assistant, Des Buckingham, was lost to Aberdeen I went back to New Zealand NT and hired my former assistant when I was managing the Kiwis. I immediately sent him out to improve his coaching badges.

Thanks Mandy. I might try but they are pretty expensive and all are from much bigger clubs than my own so it would cost an arm and a leg and thats if they're even interested in joining permanently! That is true and important to remember. Can't tell you how many times I couldn't use a player because they were either cup tied or had a clause that they couldn't play against their former club... ballbust. Pattric_b
Premier League here we come! Season Preview We got a healthy transfer budget and can definitely bring a few players in permanently. The trick is to not have to rely on other clubs to loan me their players but with Hull thats something I will have to live with. At least for the next few seasons. You can see the quality of the loan players compared to mine on this screen. So all of them will need to be replaced as well as another LM. On defense you can see we don't have a great deal of quality or depth and again my loan players are far and away the best players at the club. I will probably have to live with my RB's for this first prem season but definitely need a GK, CB and LB. Defense is my first priority. We are going have give away plenty of chances this season so we have to get the best possible backline and keeper in order to deal with those chances to the best of our ability. We are predicted to get relegated.
Pattric_b
Premier League 2038-39 Whoever is in charge of setting up fixtures didn't want us to get off to a strong start lol. We lost yeah but we didn't get absolutely destroyed, our new keeper Bentley made a few massive saves to keep our spirits high and we also missed some crucial changes that cannot be missed at this level. We were very active in the transfer window and brought in players who I think are very talented and not particularly expensive, so thats a plus. As you can see we are also looking abroad for players now after our scouting range was increased. I don't have a natural tendency to look abroad if I don't have to but the world is a big place with lots of talented players. Now a days newly promoted clubs will excessively spend on a lot of talented players but the effects of such a transfer policy hasn't proved successful as of yet. We spent 19.5m total which is peanuts compared to what some of the other english clubs spent. I just hope I didn't bring in too many new players and become the next Fulham. According to my scouts he still has a ways to go before he reaches his potential. He is already the best striker at the club and at 18 already has an international cap. Love the make up of Fernandez. Has great physicals and a great personality. Technically he is lacking but as long as he works hard and uses his strengths to his advantage he should be a bright spot on the season. We desperately needed a keeper and we got Alfie in for free from Blackburn. I am looking for him to bring his experience playing at the top flight and hoping he can be a positive role model in the dressing room. This is how we are starting the season. I have been experimenting changing the WB-At to a WB-Su and the WM-Su to a W-Su and sure enough we just beat Chelsea at home in our second game of the season! This will certainly be an exciting season in the Premier League and as always I will keep my eyes peeled for that top job at a top club. Hopefully my reputation is out growing the club and clubs like United or Liverpool or even Spurs take notice. Only time will tell.

Pattric_b
January 2039 December was a horror month but midway through our first season in the Premier League and we find ourselves in 12th. Not too bad at all. Shockingly, only 1 point behind Man Utd. And 11 points away from the drop zone. Looking at our stats you can see we haven't really been scoring too much. In the league we've only scored 21 goals which is one of the lowest but defensively we have been okay only allowing 28. Kaminski is probably our best player but he hasn't really got a chance to shine. Having your best player be a striker is fine. But when you're one of the weakest teams in the league getting the ball to your best player can be a challenge. Hence why he doesn't have the best stats. We just hit January and I will definitely be looking to improve in a few key areas. I'll be back in a few months time to update how our first season finished! Mandy42
Nottingham Forrest back in the top division! December indeed did not do you any favours! However a 2-0 win over Arsenal after they creamed you in the cup will hopefully be a welcome remedy. If you are averaging less than a goal a game in the league you either need to become more sound defensively or work some set piece magic to allow your best player some chances to attack a ball into the box

Yeah that win vs Arsenal was massive and definitely needed given most people probably didn't see us picking up any points that month... I'm trying to rectify my defense this January transfer window. I would look for more of a ball winner type(tackling, position, marking 12+) with great Teamwork and Workrate that can pass (about the same as Ogg) You might want to retrain Ogg as a backup AM. Pattric_b
January has come and gone and after a few tactical changes we look a lot more stable and have been scoring more goals. I'm not a fan of overcomplicating things so as you can see our tactic is simple and logical and the results have been good. Unfortunately though we weren't able to strike a deal for any new players. My DoF failed me. Our low wage budgeting being the main culprit. So our squad is locked into place as is for the remainder of the season... lets hope we don't stumble across the finish line. Pattric_b
What would the season be without making some enemies? Some might say these comments from Zidane are innocent and you shouldn't read too much into them. But thats not how I see it. I see this as a way to justify my dislike for him and let the world finally know about it! With only one game left in the season and being that we've secured another year in the Premier league, I did feel it was patronizing from him to open his big mouth. As if his opinion is so important we all need know about it... The best way to respond would be to beat Arsenal in our final league game and really rub it in! Arsenal really need to win the match to stand a chance at winning the league so I'm planning on making it as hard as possible for them to do that. As much as I dislike City, my dislike for Zidane surpasses that. So I'm going to batter them.
Pattric_b
Full time Arsenals players hang their heads in shame. I stare at Zidane, our eyes meet and I give him a thumbs up and a huge smile. They had one hand on the title and we showed them up on their own pitch after their manager tried to verbally pat me on the head and say 'gOoD jOb buDdYyyYy'. What a beautiful sight it is! There is public and press interest in this little feud and I have decided to come out of hiding and end my media blackout today. I won't hold back. I would have liked to add more but that was a perfect way to end the statement and my view on Zidane. If he loses his job, he loses his job. Anyway, moving past this feud our first season has come to a close and we performed very well all things considered. The bookies saw us as absolute candidates for relegation and we ended finishing 9th! A new Hull record and one that I hope won't be forgotten for years to come. Our new budget leaves us with plenty of cash to strengthen our much lacking defensive players. Very exciting times for Hull supporters, although a lot can still change between now and whenever a plot of land and loans are secured. The future looks very bright regardless and we will do everything we can for the supporters to ensure we have another positive season and build upon it! See you guys in August. Pattric_b
A New Frontier Managing a big club comes with a lot of difficulties as I immediately found out within weeks of taking over Dortmund. Players these days want more and more even without achieving anything. Bigger clubs have bigger egos and it has been extremely annoying dealing with the egos in the early days of my Dortmund career. Some of my best players have demanded new contracts and some requested to leave before I even joined. Still even with all the players moaning I have not sold anyone. The squad was thin when I joined so I can't really afford to sell my best players. Even with all the annoyance, we still won a trophy in my first ever competitive match managing Dortmund. Against Leipzig as well, who is considered the best team in the country! I made one signing in the transfer window so far and I don't expect to do much more business unless a DM becomes available for a reasonable price. Eder Luis looks like a very exciting player and I needed a right winger so we signed him for 53m from Bordeaux. This is the first team who is close to as dominant as TNS were in Wales. So I am going back to my attacking roots and am going to all my players' creativity to prosper. Looking forward to the rest of August we expect to have a strong showing and I expect to win both our opening Bundesliga matches.

Pattric_b
October Update So after a rocky start we were able to get back on track and have been cruising. We are currently tied with RB Leipzig in first but find ourself in first based on goal difference. Mid way through the CL group stage we have been mediocre. Still, with three games left to be played I fully expect to qualify for knockout rounds wether its as a first seed or second. And here has been our top performer thus far in the young season. Pattric_b
Winter Break We have done very well in November and December leading up to the winter break. That included a thrashing of defending CL winners Monaco. On their own turf no less. Very pleased with that. We lost to second place Leipzig but still find ourselves in first place in the league. It's really tight. Goal difference continues to be the only factor separating us from them. Ideally I would like to add another winger to team during the January transfer window but that will depend on who's available. I'm currently keeping close tabs on things over in England however. As you can see in the year 2039 the league standings are pretty trippy. Bournemouth, Wolves, Swansea and stoke are all in the top 6 while Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Man Utd are outside of European qualifying spots. Definitely different. Also my former team, Hull, is not having the best season and look likely for relegation this season. Not everyone is as good as me I guess. But I'm monitoring the situation at United right now because Nagelsmann's job is 'very insecure' and if I get the United job thats it. I will look to stay there for as long as possible until I get a statute in my honor. So I'm attending their next league match to see how they look. Pattric_b
Didn't get it instead I lost out to Vincent Le Goff. Based on the attributes, seems like an odd decision by United here. Absolutely insane amount of money for a manager also.
Pattric_b
Title race heats up! With just a handful of matches left to be played, we find ourselves behind Leipzig once again. As you can see we can almost certainly claim the title with a win against them in a weeks time but we are away. CL we have been playing very well as well. Celtic have been shocking a lot of people lol I'd like to win at least one of the major trophies. It would greatly improve my world reputation and allow me the chance to move on to a greater club. And the last front were still competing in is the DFB-Pokal. Leipzig maybe have the advantage because they're only focusing on the league meanwhile we are still in the CL and German cup. We will have to avoid injuries at all costs and maintain our depth in order to stand a chance to win the league.
Pattric_b
I can tell this is going to be a very tense match... We need a lot of help.
Pattric_b
Final Day We need Leipzig to either draw or lose in order to stand a chance for the league... of course our final match is a heated derby match lol. So here we go, I got my widget in the corner monitoring the Leipzig match... wish us luck!
Pattric_b
Final Match Day 17' update: We found an early go ahead goal but unfortunately for us, Magdeburg hasn't done us any favors. 24' Another goal for us as we look for a win on the final day. We may not walk away with the league title but we went down fighting. Halftime: Not looking good for us but on a positive note, we are dominating our rivals. Headline is a little misleading as we weren't in first before the match. We will be lodging a formal complaint to the paper about that. The board were not pleased we didn't win the league but we are in the CL and DFB Pokal final so theres still a chance of silverware this season.
