Northernpilgrim
Hello, and welcome to another Northernpilgrim career. As suggested by the title, this (whatever happens), will be my last FM19 career. Career Aims Simple. The career aim is to restore my enjoyment of FM19, hopefully enjoy a little bit of success along the way, and to make an interesting career for people to read. My manager I am managing as myself, but using the same profile I used for my previous career and the adventure begins in League 2, at Bury
Northernpilgrim
Preseason was busy, and was about getting the players used to my tactics. Considering the opposition, results were pleasing
Northernpilgrim
There were quite a few arrivals since the end of the previous season but only Claudio Gomes (on loan) was signed under my management and this is the squad going into the League Two campaign, with promotion the objective
Northernpilgrim
We made an unbeaten start to the season and added one more loan signing before the window shut ending the month second, behind MK Dons only on goal difference

Northernpilgrim
October wasn't quite as good and we slip to second, with Carlisle the new leaders
Northernpilgrim
We roared back in November and opened up a six point lead over Carlisle at the top

Northernpilgrim
February brought an interview that I simply had to attend although following the interview at the start of the month, results nosedived and we look anything but title contenders now, five points behind MK Dons, and down to third, only a point ahead of fourth placed Lincoln

Northernpilgrim
March was better, and we probably would have beaten bottom side Macclesfield, if we hadn't had a player sent off after 6 minutes and we end the month still third,. with it looking like a four way fight for the three promotion spots
Northernpilgrim
April wasn't good enough and we face a last day decider for a promotion that we should have wrapped up weeks ago, with anywhere from a second to fifth placed finish possible
Northernpilgrim
We faced Port Vale at home on the final day, knowing that a win would secure promotion, anything less and we would be in the playoffs. We won, and it was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests, with us holding a 3-1 lead at half time, and their second goal coming after 88 minutes so we end the season second, securing promotion to League 1

Northernpilgrim
Having reached the last game of the season, and with my contract due to expire in June, I began to look for another job in case Bury didn't offer me a new deal, and this job became vacant, so I applied and got an interview In between the interview and finding out whether I'd got the job, Bury offered me a new one year contract. I refused it as I wanted to wait to see what Ipswich said, and my patience was rewarded

Northernpilgrim
One match from perfection in the league in January, and an FA Cup defeat to Liverpool that was closer than the scoreline suggests means that we're second in the table, and the five point gap to Blackburn in third is far more important than the four points by which we trail Norwich
