TerminalPortugal
Colombian Abel Aguilar is aging and it is a worry to spend a fair transfer fee of £6.75k on him, but assuming he does not decline substantially for a season or so, I think he is a great addition to our midfield. He has played 70 times for Colombia, so adds a great bit of experience into the team, even if we know he will likely only be good for a season or two, that might be what we need to make the next step. He will be joining from Colombian outfit Real Cartagena.
TerminalPortugal
Elio Martins has been a key player for us, but he has decided to call it a day on his career, which unfortunate for us.

TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (Squad Overview 2020) Rilly - Started as first choice until we brought in Friere. He did well in fairness but I just think there are better keepers out there, he could stay or go this season still unsure. Diogo Friere - Is the current number 1, technically did worse that Rilly, but I still think he is the better keeper, so unless there is someone better available he will be the no.1. Goncalo Machado - Young keeper, but is never going to make it, we called him up before we got in Friere but I don't think he is up to it, still has a year left on his contract so he may stay but then he is being released I think. Tomas Domingos - Came in from Benfica and has played most of the season from the right back spot, he has been very good I would say if not spectacular, but he is young and really is the best we can get at the moment, so he will definately be continuing in his spot. Ivo Nicolau - Was the starting right centre back this season, he did decent, but he is getting old and declining. Likely to be the back up next season I would say. Hugo Ribeiro - Is the starting left centre-back and he has a great season, really at times he has carried Ivo at the back. I think there is he will be continuing in the starting spot. Simao Junior - has been a back up centre back this season and to be honest I do not really see him making the grade at this level. I will likely look to move on if I can get anyone else in. Daniel Coutinho - Has not played this season and is not up to the standard required. I will be letting him leave the club on free transfer this summer. Roberto Saraiva - He is young and is a decent back up to Ribeiro in defense. He can improve a lot so it is nice having him in the squad. He will get a game every now and then and hopefully he continues to improve and can force his way into the team, although there are plenty of areas where he does need to get a lot better. Igor Balde - I do not think he is good enough for this level and I will be letting him go this summer. Zaza - He is a difficult one for me, he has a fringe role for me, but covers a lot of posotions okay, so he is a nice player to have around until we can get better cover in. He did alright this season if nothing spectacular. Vasco Teixeira - Not good enough for this level, leaving in the summer. Rui Rainho - He is the starting left back and has had a decent season, I think he will continue next season again. Joao Carneiro - I bought him when Rui Rainho got an early season injury, he has played less and got a bad injury of his own, but he has done well. The question is, he is declining quick so we may need to monitor him and replace him if required. Marco Soares - He came in and went in at DMC where he did reasonably well, he is getting old and needs to be monitored but he can probably do a job for another season. Donald Adaakwah - He played a fair bit before we got in Soares, to be honest he has a good engine on him so he is good for that but lacks technical quality. I am quite happy having him around to fill gaps. Guilherme - He did well from central midfield, however got sent off too often which was a real problem. He picked up 20 yellows and 4 reds, which means he is bit of mentalist. Think I will deploy him at centre-back this season as Nicolau is declining. Ricardo Machado - Not good enough leaving this summer. Joseph Amoah - I don't think he is good enough for this level so he is leaving for Hearts of Oak, the transfer is already arranged. Elio Martins - Has been the starting left winger and did well for us last campaign, however he is now retiring so we need to sort out a replacement as soon as possible. Jorge Goncalves - He was the starting right winger and was excellent last campaign. He is now pretty old, so we need to think about a replacement for him as he begins to decline. Patrick Igwe - He is a decent back up at winger but part of me thinks he just doesn't have the attributes in the right places to really make it, weirdly he has a lot of stars which I don't really understand. He will be around this season, but not as a starter. Pedro Diniz - Not good enough for this level at this time and so I will be releasing him. Ze Francisco - Looked great when we signed him but was very hit and miss, to the point where we dropped to an impact sub. Poor goal return really from him considering he played up front. Pedro Silva - He has been a great acquisition for us, he came in and just started firing the goals in from the left striker spot. He ended up with 18 goals in 22 games which is fantastic. Starter next year for sure. Fabio Pimenta - He did a lot better than I expected and actually before Silva he was the main man getting the goals. Again he is an older player so need to be sure he doesn't decline hugely. Kaina - Not good enough for this leaving, will be released. Kaue - When Ze Francisco was fluffing his lines, he was coming in getting goals. 17 in 13 starts is very good. I think he will be staying, although I now favour Pedro Silva for this striker spot. TerminalPortugal
We find our Elio Martins replacement in Edgar Costa, whom was released by Maritimo. I think he will be a superb replacement on the left hand side and can do just as good a job on the right as well.
TerminalPortugal
Gui Ferreira was just a signing that I could not pass up when I could see he was available, as he will improve our left hand side a lot I feel. He joins from already promoted Oliveirense.
TerminalPortugal
It's not every day I sign a 41 year old, but Lee Dong-Gook has over 100 caps for South Korea, and is still a quality footballer. He is already committed to retiring next season so if things don't work out we really haven't lost much. I especially like him because he is either footed, which makes him extremely versatile in my formation in the striker position.
TerminalPortugal
Diogo Mendes coming from Benfica B is the newest addition. He has great quality for this level in central midfield and I think he will be an upgrade there. He does cost us £4.5k but I am willing to do it, he is young and we can get a lot value out of him. TerminalPortugal
Another signing in the form of Serginho from Sport Uniao Sintrense. This guy I think will improve our defense a lot. He costs us just under £2k to purchase, but again worth it in my book and he is good age too.

TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (Taca da Liga 1st Round vs Portimonense) We put out a statement of intent for the coming season as we take Portimonense apart winning 5-0 in the first competitive fixture of the season as we go through in the Taca da Liga to the 2nd Round. TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (Taca da Liga 2nd Round vs Rio Ave) Our cup run ends at the 2nd Round stage as Rio Ave narrowly beat us, we probably could of had them on the night but in the end they found a way through us and got the win. I am fine with that, we were never going to get out of the group stages anyway and we have others things to concentrate on anyway.
TerminalPortugal
The odds are out for the new season, and we have improved a little and now sit in a predicted 16th place finish which would be just outside the relegation places. Let's hope we can overachieve again with the new reinforcements.
TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (Pre-Season Friendlies 2020) Everything went very much to plan during the pre-season and we got wins across the board. We may be out of the Taca da Liga, but as mentioned that is fine with me, it is more a distraction for us than anything else.
TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (August 2020) We have had a very strong start to the season, the defence seems to have been improved this season at least at this early stage, and we have had a fair injuries to important players, so I am very happy with the start we have made this season. We top the league by a point from Portimonense and Belenenses, hopefully we can keep this up.
TerminalPortugal
Zaza was very much a player that was on the fringe of things and was beginning to get annoyed at the lack of playing time. TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (Taca de Portugal 2nd Round vs Louletano) We come from behind to beat Louletano 4-1, in the end was not safe until the final minutes when we got two late goals to make the game safe. TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (September 2020) We suffered our first defeat on the month away to Belenenses, which I always knew would probably the most difficult game of the season, so it was not altogether unexpected that we lost that game. However we actually played pretty well in the game and just were lacklustre in attack. Casa Pia on the other hand was surprisingly a pretty bad performance and we just came through that one with a win. Again against Louletano I would say we were a little lacklustre. In the end the month ends up being decent results wise, but some performances just weren't the best. We top the league, but it is a very congested league table, with teams down to 9th only 3 points off us.
TerminalPortugal
The Taca de Portugal draw gives us Rio Ave, whom already knocked us out of the Taca da Liga, hopefully this time around we can exact a little bit of revenge on them for that. TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (Taca de Portugal 3rd Round vs Rio Ave) We battle to a 1-0 win against Rio Ave, where we severely limited the attacking impetus into the game. We advance to the 3rd Round of the Taca de Portugal.

TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (October 2020) We have a very indifferent month as we falter. We should not have lost to Cova da Piedade, we were so dominant it was disappointing to somehow come away with nothing from the game. We need to be much better than we are being right now. We drop to 5th place, because of indifferent form and are now 4 points of the leadership of the league.

TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (November 2020) A decent month but we are once again left ruing missed opportunities, as we dominated Tondela, but contrived to lose the game. Elsewhere we did well, especially in our 5-1 win against Academica. We move up to 2nd place, and are 3 points behind Academico de Viseu. It is still very tight at the top of the table, and a loss could drop us to 7th place.

TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (Taca de Portugal Last 16 vs Belenenses SAD) We smash Belenenses rather unexpectedly as we advance to same stage we reached last year in the Taca de Portugal; the Quarter Finals. TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (December 2020) Well the month started rather disappointingly and annoyingly as we lost to Lusitania after having something like 24 shots to 3 against them and again contrived to lose and then again we played better than Boavista but could only manage a draw, but we improved drastically as the month continued, and beat top of the table Academico de Viseu, followed by a destruction of Belenenses in the cup before getting a great away win from 2-0 down against Mafra, to make a decent month for us all told. We now sit 3rd, 3 points behind top of the table Portimonense and 1 behind Academico de Viseu in the last promotion spot. The table is getting a little more stretched but it is still pretty congested at the top and we need to keep looking over our shoulder.

TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (Taca de Portugal Quarter Final vs Sporting Braga) It ends up being a bridge too far for us as we were well beaten by Sporting Braga 5-2 in the cup.
TerminalPortugal
Roberto Saraiva would not sign a new deal at the club and so Nacional have agreed a deal for him. I can live with it, he was the back up and next year I will look to hopefully keep improving the side.
TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (January 2021) Despite the expected defeat in the cup, we have been very good in the league, remaining unbeaten all month. It would have been nice to convert one of our chances against Leixoes especially as they are not having the best season, but it was always going to be a tough game. We are in 3rd place and have closed the gap to 1 point between us and the top two teams in Academico de Viseu and Portimonense. A gap is opening up between us three and the rest, so perhaps we can focus on getting ahead of these two rather than looking over our shoulder.
TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (February 2021) A ton of key injuries has really killed us off this month, not a lot we can do about it as we lose two crunch games in the title race. We find ourselves 4th and now trailing Portimonense by 1 point and Academico de Viseu by 3 points. Injuries have really hurt our chances this month and some won't be back for a while. I can see us dropping off now to be honest.
TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (March 2021) The injury crisis ended at the end of the month and we were able to get back to winning ways however, we lost a lot of ground with the bad results we had last month and the draw this month did not help either. Those bad results may have cost us promotion this season. We are still on the trail of promotion but now playing catch up, we are 3rd and two points behind Tondela and 3 points behind leaders Academico de Viseu.
TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (April 2021) We buckle under the injuries, lack of match fitness and probably the pressure, as we pretty much give away any chance of promotion with a pretty bad month. It's six points to Belenenses SAD now and I just can't see us in three games making that up, plus Academico de Viseu can still go past us into 3rd. Promotion is as good as gone now.
TerminalPortugal
MOURA AC (May 2021) We had a tough run in at the end but we did exceedingly well in the final month of the season. However the damage to our promotion chances had already been done and even that finish was not going to be good enough to go up this season, which means we are a little disappointed in the end. I mean clearly we had a good season for a team like us, that was predicted to be at the bottom of the table but we just miss out again and so we must refocus next season with the goal of getting up to the Liga NOS. In the end we finish 2 points off promotion, although we would have needed 3 points because of our poor head to head record against Belenenses. A 4th place finish is very decent for us, we can take some pride in it, but we kind of through it away as we led the league for some small periods. This season I think a lot can be blamed on injuries to key players, as at key points we really had to play with a skeleton squad with our best players our and that definately cost us in the end. It tells me that we need to get rid of the remaining dead wood at the club and bring in some depth to all position so we don't suffer the same fate next season.
