Constantine
August, September & October 2023. Yeah... I got carried away a bit... So let's start with transfers. This summer was pretty much tame, not as much activity as it was last year. Same can be said for us. One big sale, as Xadas went to Munich for decent sum. And it almost screwed me big time since i barely found a replacement for him. Six players i had shortlisted for left wing. Two of them signed new contracts recently. One damaged his cruciate ligaments. Villareal demanded insane money for their u19 international and one flat out rejected to negotiate. But replacement was found in the end. Mujica left, had to make space for Ilicic. Alaves has an option to buy him for €7m. Rest of outgoings were kids sent to get some experience. Probably the most complete striker we have. But he'll have to impress the hell outta me if he expect to separate Acosta and Ivkovic. For now, backup. Brilliant physical and mental attributes for his age. Paying his clause to get hem from Getafe was no brainer. Replacement for Álex Centelles, who went back to Valencia. Ricardo Garcia is promoted to first eleven and this Dutch boy will provide backup when he need rest. Cover for both wings. Just in case. Now, competitions and games played so far... Pretty passable group. Dortmund is tough opponent but we should beat CSKA and Basel New season started great, as we lift Supercopa. Bilbao has fallen. Even in CL, we started decent. Bar kinda expected defeat in opening game at Westfalen. While on paper things look good... I'm not happy. Dropped a win against Atleti in 93rd minute, when Lemar caught my defenders with their pants down. Dribbled past them like they're cones. Blew 2-0 lead against Espanyol. And got schooled by freaking Valladolid. Coincidentally or not, things got better when Emerson (RB) returned from injury. My defenders started looking competent again. Yes, maybe i'm too harsh on the boys, as we're still close to the top. But it was irritating watching them stumble and fumble when i know they're better than that. Edit: Forgot to add Squad screenie. Constantine
November & December 2023. Backups did the job. We turned on god mode but so did Barcelona. Atleti slipped up but they seemed pretty much unbeatable at some point. To round up perfect two months period, three wins in CL, including a classic against Dortmund. In the next round we meet... Dynamic Duo picked up some awards
Constantine
And that didn't last long, only two days later we've got this bit of news. If you're wondering why i'm posting this two-day takeover thriller... Well, because embargo cancelled our biggest transfer ever, Emerson's homecoming to Barcelona for €50m. F***.
Constantine
January 2024. I think this is the first time we did business in January. Three players in, four out. Two out those four were our starting fullbacks. Signed last summer but couldn't join us till now. Much better player to have in rotation than Naranjo, who went out on a loan. He was planned for July, as we got him tied up on Bosman (together with Rhian Brewster and Oliver Batista Meier). But Barca going for Emerson accelerated his arrival and we paid peanuts to have him join. A familiar face. Milan activated clause for Theo and... Backups did their best. Eliminated in extra time against Valencia's best XI. No shame in that. Still going strong. As does Barca and Atleti. It's going to be a three horse race, as things stand right now... deltablue
Marseille should be a good tie.
Constantine
February & March 2024. @deltablue was right-ish, Marseille gave us a good game and even greater scare. We were losing 3-0 after half an hour. Had Acosta haven't scored that one goal in rest of the first half, our journey would've ended here. In the next round, another interesting opponent. Loris Karius on goal. Old man Lewa leading the attack. Only player i'm scared of is Mbappe. If we stop him, we have a chance. We made it interesting with two slip ups. It's going down the wire, just like last year...
Constantine
Mbappe injured himself early on and after that i was convinced we're going through. He's their Messi, without him, they're no more dangerous than, let's say, Sevilla. All due respect to them. This was just a formality. Semi final. New round. Old foes. Also, we're having bit of an interesting race in the league. Got these messages game after game. Found it kinda funny.
Constantine
April 2024. With one leg in The Final... We can't **** this up, can't we? Photo finish...

Constantine
Backups did their job perfectly. Terrific. We won't have to go very far for final game. One game till eternal glory. C'mon boys.
Constantine
They played before us so pressure was on... Away game at Estadio Benito Villamarín was never going to be easy. And it wasn't. My strikers took the day off. We barely scored that one goal. Betis scored too, but VAR to the rescue, it was overruled and we went home with 3 points in the bag and back on top. It's all going to be decided in the last round.
Constantine
Final round... Let's go!!
Constantine
Tied game, on all counts... Barca in the lead, our former player scored... That hurt a bit. 45 minutes till season end.
Constantine
Title isn't going ****ing nowhere!!! Brilliant second half performance and wonder goal from Garcia saw us win the title for second time in a row. Another thriller in the last game but these boys... These boys have ****ing balls!! Simeone would be proud. Beautiful sight...
Constantine
Some important records and awards... Going to go out for a bit, to grab something for dinner. But i'll be back soon. We have Champions League final to win.
Constantine
I'm back. Now, this has nothing to do with us but... Real Sociedad fired their manager after last league game (OK, it has a bit to do with us) They just hired his replacement. And this does put a smile on my face.
Constantine
Biggest game in Castillon's history. Biggest game of my career so far. Damn right we're hit by CL fever. Simeone leads them. So much experience in that team. Can we beat them?? Let's find out. Game on!!
Constantine
God ****ing dammit!! Ref has butchered us. Gave us cards way too easily while Liverpool was left unchecked. 21-19 in fouls, 8-1 in yellow cards. Screw you!! We played almost perfect game. Dominated the **** outta them. Took the lead twice and failed to bring it home. And then... Penalties... Their experience shone through. Shame. Damn shame. We deserved it... Hootieleece
Close race for La Liga! Congrats on the win! Who is in Barcelona's line up? This is Barcelona's squad. As you can see, most of them are still real players. Only regens in squad are Juan Ignacio Cardoso (whom they took from us) and backup goalkeeper. They're managed by Emery. Almost won the league, knocked out in quarter finals of CL and lost Copa to Valencia. Liverpool still has very, very good team. Though some of the players are getting on the wrong side of 30's. Managed by Diego Simeone.
Constantine
Can't really complain, on paper, our best season so far. Retained the league and got to the CL final. Though 0/2 record in European finals does worry me... Going down Klopp's way, it seems. Thought i would start adding these, just to compare expectations with where we ended up... Media predicted us to be 4th so we overachieved a bit. Still can't shake that feeling of disappointment... We deserved more dammit!! Copa is still out of reach for us It's trivial but it's nice to start a season with a trophy I don't believe things will change that much. If we sell someone, we'll get a replacement. Our bench need strengthening, might need to sign better CM but that's about it. My only fear is that someone activate Aldana's clause. Yes, it's €120m but clubs with serious money has been courting him (PSG, ManUtd) Now you understand why i laughed when i posted that budget screen. Our stadium is near completion (2 weeks away) so giving me not even 40m to play in transfer market is heresy. BEST XI João Silva Mateu Morey Alejandro Aldana Albino Assunção Jonathan Ajila Hélder Amaro Fabiano Medeiros Saša Lukić Ricardo García Goran Ivkovic Richard Acosta
Constantine
Around the (known) world That's two in a row for Man City. Rafa Benitez is the man. Monaco also got two in a row. How Tuchel gets to keep his job, i have no idea... Bayern without Kovac... Well, they're not doing that good. Gattuso got finally got them back on throne, first time since 2011. After two seasons of suffering, Ajax is back on top. Took them 20 years to win the championship again and now they've got it for second time in two years. 5th time in a row. It's getting dull...
deltablue
Well done on the league title. You really had to be good to beat out Barcelona, just as I have to be with Bayern and Hamburg.
Constantine
No doubt in my mind that you'll overtake those dirty Bavarians in the next two seasons.
Constantine
While i'm not the one to reject sticking it to PSG... Nah. Monaco would've been to easy of a choice. Consecutive champions of France. I'd like something more challenging if i were to leave Castellon now.
Constantine
OK, transfer window now can truly begin. No additional money will be pumped into club. We'll work with what we've got.
Constantine
Took them long time but it's now finally done. New season, new ground. Also, as EURO was done and dusted, i've got two interesting offers. Rejected both of them, though i was tempted. But ultimately, i've decided that i want to open our new stadium. Play one season on it. And after that, time will come to leave Castellon.
Constantine
August & September 2024. And so began my final season at Castellon. Barca was pretty active in transfer market. They've sold Rashford, Goretzka and Jota but brought in the likes of Kai Havertz, Vinicius Junior, Pablo Fornais and brilliant Brazilian MC we also chased. Real did your typical AI business while Atleti got amazing Fabio SIlva. As for us... Balde has gone. With Brewster arranged, he became a surplus. He was a good sport for it and i wish him all the best. Has been brilliant for us. Amo went to Atleti as we had John Naranjo, who developed rather well (and just got citizenship) to replace him on the bench. Lukic wanted back to Italy so i've let him. Hasn't developed as well as he can but i see him as good rotational option. Can cover a wide range of positions Loved this guy. Brilliant in this year's FM. He was unhappy and transfer listed, rotting in Castilla. So we liberated him. Brilliant little player. Struggling a bit with injuries, as our strike force has been split in half. So that's one trophy won. Sarri's Valencia took the lead in 7th minute and after that they haven't seen the ball till game ended. Strong start in La Liga. Valencia had the honor of being first team that played in our new ground, in a match all 5 goals were scored by Castellon players. In Champions League, we ended up in tough-ish group. Some of them are really interesting. Group C or F, wow. Group H, ouch. First time in my life that i felt sorry for Red Star. First game played in Turin. Should've won but Brewster had a mare, couldn't hit the damned barn door that day. No worries here... And that's about it. I think. For now.
deltablue
Not a bad start to the Champions League.
Hootieleece
Juventus are your toughest opponent in Champions League, but Porto can be tricky especially when they play at home. Salzburg should be 6 points from the understudies. You should make a real go of it in Champions League this year...it would cement your legacy at Castellon.
Constantine
October 2024. Alright, done with the work projects for now so... Backups easily dispatched Mirandes. No one really challenged us this October. Las Palmas game was more frustrating than anything, one of those matches everything is going against you And to round out our perfect month, two CL victories which bring us on top of the table. Let's stay here fellas...
Constantine
November 2024. Few records broken in just couple of days... My boys are crushing everyone Important milestone. And hopefully there's more to come. I usually lose on this occasions but boys were motivated (see pic above) Cruising... Already got a huge lead on Barca, which is good. My heart can only take so many photo finishes... CL group done and dusted. Have an opportunity to knock out Juve. But we will play it fair against Porto in that last game (Of course we will not)
Constantine
December 2024. After brilliant first game, backups half-assed this one. Got another easy opponent in the next round though. First defeat in the season, as we were toothless against Porto's defense. Shockingly, Juve is out of Europe. Not even LE for bianchoneri... Löw's Milan awaits... Tough draw but we should beat them. Still undefeated, as the gap is getting bigger... Ter Stegen scored a ridiculous own goal for 2-1 and Barca just collapsed after that. Which was nice to see, not gonna lie... 16df8cf6a50c3e23ec2574bfc7bdecb9.mp4 Can't align this clip correctly and it's pissing me off
Constantine
January 2025. Eh, that sweet insomnia... January done and dusted and sun is barely out. First month in new year mean bunch of Copa matches. And we've done rather well. Backups did well. Barely scraping through Barcelona and beaten Madrid at home. Brilliant!! But we can't get complacent. It's Real, after all... Our reign of terror in La Liga continues. Only 1 conceded goal. Lovely. Our boy went to England. €170m. Jesus ****ing Christ!! Meanwhile, nothing is being done at our camp. Not that we needed anything. Went through list of Bosmans and bar Kante, no one stood out. Don't really need him but i like the fella, thought about offering him a contract but his wage demands are triple of what i pay my best players. So... No, thanks. Did sign one player. Transfer listed at Atleti, unhappy with his playing time. Arranged it for summer as i can't play him right now, as we're filled at all positions. So he's kinda "welcome aboard" present for Castellon's next manager. Brilliant little fella, noticed him way back at Rayo. He was out of our pricing range back then so Gijon got him for peanuts. After that, he chose Atletico over us but goddammit, i'm nothing if not persistent. Finally got him to sign. And i won't be there when he get to wear our kit. He's going to be ****ing amazing.
Constantine
February & March 2025. The end of my journey at Castellon is near to a close. It's kinda unusual, the thought that i won't be with these boys in a couple of months. (Yes, i'm aware i'm getting a bit attached to a bunch of ones and zeroes but still... It's a weird feeling) Anyway, back to results. Thoroughly professional job at Bernabeu. Backups made me proud. And they'll play, all of them, in final against Sevilla. They got us here, they'll get a chance to finish the job. Tricky tie. But Italian champion laid their weapons before us. Next opponent is a known foe, lead by Kyllian Mbappe. Munich, here we go again... Our unbeaten run has come to an end. Quick two yellows for Morey, missed penalty by Acosta... We weren't getting anything from that game. On a side note, Valencia, what the ****?
