CMU Chips
Really frustrated with both the match engine and how my team is underperforming, so I'm taking a break from FM20 (we are on pace to finish lower mid-table this year). Just reinstalled FM18 and found my Whitby save where we finished 5th last year in the prem, think my current plan is to finish this dafuge and then be re-energized to finish the FM20 version lol. jamespthomas
End of Season Review Season 2024/25 Season 4 Summary - 2nd Championship The title run is over but another promotion amazing.... Newcastle were too strong but we pipped West Ham to second and got automatic promotion to the big time! we started the season in patchy form due to the late loan additions and then recovered being led by the goals of Liam Delap and assists of Gomez and Maldini.....did well in FA cup run boosted the budget, losing away at Man Utd. Transfers, Best 11 Sold some stalwarts in Aarons, Bowden, Ntenda 1.1m....to give myself more wage budget room. picked up some great free transfers - Daniel Maldini from Milan, Diallo from everton, a superstar regen england U21 Chris gomez (from spurs) Genty from FCP. did well with loans picking up some leading championship players in Delap, Florent Da Silva from City, Brunel and Corcoran (regen cb's from chelsea) to add to the spine from League one. C Key Players Liam Delap,( who looks like a young Harry Kane)on loan from City was great for us nearly winning golden boot., I'm hoping they transfer list him in the summer. Ibrahima Diallo joined on a free who was immense in midfield. Chris Gomez a wonderkid regen joined on a free from spurs which was scarcely believable as it looks like he could be leading star in premier league in a few years. Aims for next season Wow, this save game has been great. I'm building a new small stadium (12k) and have £24m and 300k wage budget remaining on June 1st. Will try to use the loan market again to get 5 players in to bolster the side much prefer real players to regens but will now try and scout around for some bargains in south america and hope to get mid table.... as said in my original post. I always get bored a few years into the premier league with a conference team but hopefully will be able to complete the challenge this time! kingjericho
Nantwich - Premier League - 2033/34 A much needed improvement over last season. I realised that we needed a big upgrade in quality so I attacked the market fearlessly. As a result, some not so cheap but extremely talented players joined, and their presence showed, with many great games and some deserved wins over Arsenal and Man City, for example. Unfortunately the last matchday put us against Southampton and they won in the 84th minute, pushing us out of 5th place. This way we'll play the Europa Conference next season. (EDIT: actually we qualified for the Europa League and Man Utd took the EC spot after the FA Cup final.) Our performance in the cups was probably the worst ever in this save. We lost the first matches in both the FA end EFL Cup, bot times to lower league clubs. A big disappointment, and something I always aim for in my saves are good cup runs. G_D_K
Season Review (Season Seven, 2026-27) Table / Position Graph / Squad / Finances / Transfers / Manager Attributes / Facilities / Annual Injuries / Competitions / Reputation / Club Vision SUMMARY Season Seven went about as I expected. We did get off to a quicker start than I anticipated, then settled down to a steady slog. In the end we finished well out of the relegation zone, but we lacked consistency of any kind. Part of the problem was the fact that I only had 1/4 or so of the squad on full-time contracts -- the board surprised me a bit when they went pro in early June (before I had the chance to ask); I already had renewed some critical contracts and couldn't offer new contracts to key players for several months. By the end of the season, the percentage of players on full-time contracts had risen to about 85-90%. Hopefully, with a full season ahead on full time contracts (and a wage budget that has nearly doubled -- all the way to £24.2K/wk!) we will do a better job of moving up the table. Our best team stat this year overall was on defense -- we were 2nd in tackles won ratio (at 91%) -- though we need to attempt more tackles total, because in that category we were only 21st! Overall, our 74 goals conceded looked much better than Wycombe (who conceded 104)...but that was the only team we stayed ahead of as we finished 23rd. Offensively, we did better, finishing joint 13th with 52 goals scored. Tom Fielding, of course, remained leading goalscorer for the team, but only managed 14. Although he dropped off a bit from the previous season, Rio Campbell continued his decent run of form from the left wing scoring 7; meanwhile Richard Wilde and Harley Johnson finished joint 3rd. Service was a problem, as we didn't have a single player finish even near double digits in assists; Rio Campbell with 6 assists led in that category. Promotion / Playoffs Yep...nope. Not close! Cup Competitions New league, new competitions to get knocked out of! This season featured our first ever appearance in the Carabao Cup, and, while Wycombe conceded a bunch of goals this season, it wasn't to us (at least not in the cup -- we scored 8 against them in the league!), as we got knocked out in the first round 2-0. In another new competition -- the leasing.com trophy, we did better, as we managed a 1-0 win over Wycombe in our final game of the series. Sadly, Portsmouth and Southampton U23s had already put the nail in our coffin in this trophy prior to this matchup with 1-0 and 2-0 losses respectively. We fought hard, but, in the end, we're not ready yet for these matchups. That left the FA Cup, and here, we did better, as we faced easier competition early on. First up was fellow L2 York, a team we had just managed a 1-1 away draw with in the league (Fielding getting a 2nd half equalizer to cancel out their 8th minute strike). This home played much better, as we managed a 4-0 route of the League Two veterans (Fielding, Bradbury, Campbell, and Sakyi all getting on the scoreboard). York wasn't helped (nor really hindered) by their loss of fullback Wannell in the 79th minute for his 2nd yellow offense). That game in the books set us up for a nice simple matchup vs VNLN Chorley, a team with which we had had some familiarity (6 prior meetings we had won 3 and lost 3). Two divisions higher, and I hoped for a good showing, and the lads provided it with a solid, if not spectacular, 2-0 win (Campbell and Fielding, again). I think the tele lights had blinded some of the players, but in the end we prevailed. Sadly, we lost our new right winger thru the critical December stretch of matches due to a groin strain in this match. This win gave us our third (?) straight FAC 3rd round chance, and, for once, we got a good one. Tottenham away! Our first real moneymaker. I won't lie and say I hoped for anything other than a packed stadium here! In the end....we didn't get much more than that either. Tottenham up 3-0 in the 85th minute, and I don't think we'd managed more than 3 shots all match... I let them loose in the final 5 minutes and we doubled our shot tally, and Shepherd, just back from injury, popped up with an 89th minute goal to make the scoreline look (even more) respectable. Anyone who watched the match wouldn't be fooled--but if they just caught the score in the local papers they might have wondered about this upstart league two team! Additional Details Team of the Season Best XI Inductees Three new players were inducted into the team Best XI this year. Luke Robinson (130 appearances), in his 3rd season with Needham Market plays left fullback and tallied 5 goals and 10 assists, while averaging about 3.5 Tk/game. Second season right fullback Benjamin Allison and first year right winger Sam Murray (21 app, 3 goals/5 assists) were also added. Historical Best XI Fans Player of the Season -- For the...4th? 5th?? Straight year, Fielding won the fans heart and FPoY with 45% of the vote. Free Kick specialist Harley Johnson managed 24% of the vote, while MC Jesurun Rak Sakyi managed 19%. (Sakyi is one of two, I believe, players that have been with the team since my second season in charge -- the other being GK Hall). Signing of the Season DC Alex Algar (£6.5k) 29(8) appearances and desperately needed to shore up the defense as we moved up to L2. Was one of my first full-time contract signings. Young Player of the Season Well...Tom Fielding can't win this award every year...at some point he's not a "young player" any longer! This year it goes to striker partner Richard Wilde. End of Season Stats -- For the THIRD consecutive year, Fielding dominated the team stats, as top goalscorer (14), Highest AvR (6.96), and best pass completion (81%). Rio Campell and Harley Johnson each contributed six assists, while Harley Johnson also tallied most PoM awards (4). On the negative side, Gary Mitchell led the team with 6 yellow cards, and we didn't have a single red card all season (down from 14 yellows for worst offender last season, and five different players with red cards). Discipline working??? Or we're being too gentle with the opposition??!! Youth Intake Top Graduate Spoiler Season 1 Karl Ward, Midfield could slot into the wide spots of my 4-4-2 and 4-1DM-3-2 Wide formations. Rates to be better (if he reaches his potential) than my current wingers. Season 2 GK Tommy Black was deemed the best of a very lackluster crop. This class was so bad I took the rare (early-challenge) step of only signing 5 of the class to a youth contract. Season 3 AM(C)/AM(R), ST(C) Marc Baxendale could potentially develop into something useful, at least for the lower levels, but I can't see a long-term future for him. Season 4 DR/MR Gary Mitchell is probably the best -- he could actually start in a pinch for the senior squad. Left to be seen if he will develop into something better. Season 5 Midfielder Iain Jeffersappears to be the best of a bad lot. Not sure if any of the current class will ever make the senior team (or develop into something worth selling for that matter). Season 6 Season 7 Another season with no standouts in the youth intake. We turned pro (surprisingly, the board went there before I had the chance to ask!) Sadly, they're still as tightfisted as ever. After earning a huge paycheck at Tottenham for the FAC3R, I immediately asked for upgrades (We had over £1M in the bank). First I asked for an upgrade for the youth development -- response was "we rather you'd focus on the senior team". Fine....can we get a training facility upgrade? Response "You're doing fine with what you have." What??? Okay. I quit. This save is over. I give them an ultimatum.... and he capitulates. ??? We have an UPGRADE coming? Yep...one training upgrade in the works! I also, at the end of the season, managed to prise out an additional coach from the chairman...but that is it. Well-- we have another season, with everyone on full-time contracts at least. Oh...and, takeover rumors...again. And this time...it went thru.... until it didn't. Soured at the last moment, and I'm STILL STUCK WITH THIS IDIOT! Feliks
2020/21 | August to December | National League South I decided to take over Welsh club Merthyr Town FC, as I've always loved playing as expatriate clubs such as FC Vaduz, Wellington Phoenix and San Marino Calcio. I've given myself the added challenge of only signing Welsh players, which will make it more restricting in the long term but in the short term makes it a bit easier on me as I'm not used to disabling the player attributes and scouting the hard way. Merthyr, when I joined, had a decent core of Welsh players already at the club and I dipped into the free agent and loan markets to bolster it before the season started. Cameron Berry was probably the best of the lot, an adventurous central midfielder released from Swansea who I gave the majority of the playmaking responsibility to. Owura Edwards really excited me as well, a young tricky winger from Bristol City who can be inconsistent but is very capable of turning a game on its head in a matter of minutes. Finally, I was extremely happy to land Luc Noble on loan from Bristol Rovers, as he was wanted by a number of Championship clubs before we swooped in for the loan. My coaches rate him as the best player at the club, and he's been a rock in the heart of defence. It's been an up and down season so far for us, struggling massively with consistency. I'm not the best at making tactics so I've been constantly tinkering with a flat 4-4-2 to try and get the best out of the players. We showed some excellent early home form but couldn't win away to save our lives, and in September were sitting in mid table. But with such a close league, we took our chances in October, only dropping 2 points for the month and becoming the first team to beat the rampant Dulwich Hamlet this season. After another good showing in November we were in 5th but in December the wheels fells off, scoring just 2 goals in 5 games and plummeting to 11th. From the perspective of being a newly promoted side, it's not bad at all, but my aim will be to try and get back into those playoff spots by the end of the season. We've not had any outstanding performers this season, but I've nevertheless been impressed by a few players. Jamie Veale, who I named club captain, has been an excellent linking player as a deep lying forward, scoring 8 goals as well, whilst Cameron Berry has been a constant heartbeat in the middle of the park. Luc Noble, although on loan, has clearly shown he is very suited for his level of football and another loanee in Momo Touray (from Newport County) has managed to usurp Gethyn Hill as a starting striker and currently sits tied with Veale for top goalscorer. With 21 games to go, and no cup football left to speak of, I'll be continuing to tinker with my tactics to try and beat this bad run of form and push for a playoff spot. I think we can still be fairly proud of our efforts so far, but I've seen how well this team can play on its day, and I want to make sure we're putting that out every week. numero uno gunner
Weston-super-Mare Season 2026-2027 Season summary 8 wins. 7 draws. 23 defeats. 31 points. -58 goal difference. We conceded 4 or more in 11 games, including a 8-0 defeat at Man City, and another 9 games where we conceded 3 in a game as well. All of this should point towards an inevitable outcome come the end of the season, yet it didn't. We finished a remarkable 16th. With 31 points. Our points tally would've seen us relegated in every other season bar one, so I think it's safe to say this has been a somewhat fortuitous survival campaign. That said, we had all but secured another season in the top flight with 3 games to go, so maybe I'm being a little harsh on our peformance. The vast majority of our points were gathered by beating the teams around us at the foot of the table, although only us and Burnley failed to beat bottom side Middlesborough in the league this season. Player-wise, Jez Blanchfield joined us permanently after firing us to promotion last season was our top scorer again this year, hitting 12. No one else got into double figures, which is a huge concern. Juan Sanguinetti, on loan from Spurs, contributed 8 goals and 4 assists from the right wing, and performed consistently well this season. Whether or not we can get him again next season remains to be seen. Gonzalo Villar in central midfield had a solid season, providing 6 assists, but I'm struggling to find someone who can play with him successfully. League table Finances I was so pleased that we ended last season with over £1m in the bank. But this season has been a completely different level. We've only spent 15% of our revenue on wages, and regardless of what happens from here on in, we've secured the financial future of this club long-term. Now to loosen the purse strings a bit! Transfers Other developments The stadium is still being built, but we have managed to pay off some of the club debts, which is definitely a positive. Next steps Building for mid-table obscurity. I'd love to not be involved in a relegation battle next season, but the current squad is definitely not good enough to do so. We lack goals in general, and bringing in players who can hit the back of the net fairly regularly is going to be vital. We received some absolute tonkings throughout the season, so tactical development is needed as well. I'd love a good cup run, but only if we're in a position in the league where the squad isn't stretched too thin by the extra fixtures. I also need to sort the coaching team out, as most are out of contract and I think we can probably attract a better quality of candidate now.
kingjericho
Nantwich - Premier League - 2034/35 I think the final two weeks of the season took years of life from me. We had a busy summer, but only in the final days did we do the best deals, with three great signings that improved my options considerably. We started the season well, racking up wins and soon enough we were near the top. Not always in first because there are many games in hand during the season, but mathematically we were leaders for almost four months. Then, came April 28th. In a crucial match against second place Southampton, we conceded the 4-4 at 93', which meant we did not take off to a larger margin on top of the league. Then, we bottled our chances like pros, drawing at home to Everton 3-3, conceding twice the minute after we went ahead. And then to top it off, we lost at home 1-2 to already relegated Bournemouth. We finished the season with a 6-3 thumping at White Hart Lane to propel us to 5th place, in what can be remembered as the steepest drop from the top in recent memory. With all this going on, of course I put all other competitions on hold, which meant early exits on both domestic cups, and an EL semi final loss to Porto. The plan was to do damage control on the first leg but we ended up coming home with a 4-0 loss, and even though we won 3-0 at home the damage was already done. kingjericho
Nantwich - Premier League - 2035/36 A bit more consistency did a massive difference, and even though we could have finished better it was a season of improvements. We finished second in the league with Liverpool clinching the title with two games left. At one point we were leaders but we dropped points in key matches versus Man Utd and Southampton. Meanwhile, Liverpool won almost every match and nobody was able to keep up. I believe that with a 28-5-5 record we can win the league and we are getting close to that. We still concede many goals, some of them were key in turning wins to draws and losses. In other competitions, we reached the finals of the League Cup, FA Cup, and Europa League. Sadly we only won the first, later losing to Southampton and Liverpool by big numbers (2-5 and 0-3). In three final debuts we had 33% success. Not good, but still better than 0%. Feliks
My last attempt at the challenge with Merthyr saw me get sacked at the end of the second season after a torrid run of form. I took some time away and had some fun with a Jamaican NT save before giving it another crack. Luckily for me, they got promoted into the Vanarama North which has made this first season less repetitive. I signed a few different players this time and I'm currently top of the league at the halfway point! I also wanted to show off this target man I signed from Airbus UK: 203cm tall with those stats, I'm very very keen to put him to good use.
SteelCityColt
After falling out of love with FM for a bit, and putting off buying FM20 for a good while, I've been sucked back in. First off I went for my usual Preston save, but meh, it's the same old. So finally thought I'd give this a go. Never tried LLM, and it was a bit of a learning curve! True to the spirit of the challenge I didn't for a 2 year sim lucky roll to get my actual hometown (Bedford) promoted, instead opting for the nearest team: Season 1 Review Final Table/Squad/Finances/Manager Attributes/Facilities/Competitions Summary I had a bit of panicked start, first realising that I had no idea what constituted a good player at this level, but also realising probably none of my starting squad was really going to cut the mustard. Then also the fun of realising no Asst meant I can't filter interested only. A hurried Asst hire later I started the mass trial invite, only to get told my board would limit me to 30 at a time. This kinda set the tone for the season where I was constantly churning players, panic signing a few duds that I couldn't shift but also managing to move some on for small amounts and replace with upgrades. I'm not sure if it is in the spirit of the challenge but I did use loans to bolster the squad too on the cheap. Friendlies I tried to set up as a mix of revenue generation and morale boosting, which didn't always work out, including a humbling loss to Holmer Green, but thankfully my bog standard solid 4-4-2 was able to be tight enough at the back to get us off to a solid enough start in the league: As the squad bedded in and I get a bit more cohesion I switched up to a more attacking 4-2-4, which scored more, but was also capable of having Keegan-esque moments as games such as losing 3-4 or the classic against 5-4 win Spennymoor where they equalised in the 92nd minute and I scored the winner in the 96th. I got very lucky in the cups, especially the FA cup with some lucky draws, the highest team I faced until the 4th round was Dag & Redbridge, before I ran into Everton (Away!) and got smashed 6-0. The cup runs, combined with some postponements left me sat 4th with 4 games in hand on leaders Hereford, but I got a bit nervy as I lost 2 on the bounce after the Everton game and feared the squad might be bottling it: However, with some very nice money in the bank, the board agreed to releasing more funds and gave me a huge 120K transfer budget, which I converted into wages and used to upgrade some key bits of the squad, including finally getting my big man up top to realise my vision of a big/little partnership. From then on I felt the players were good enough to take anyone on in the division and they went on a pretty solid run, with on 1 draw and 2 losses for the rest of the season. I had though that my 2nd to last game with Hereford would of been the title decider, but thankfully I'd wrapped the league up by then. The season did finish on a slightly sour note in losing the FA Trophy final, mostly disappointing as the team just didn't show up at all. Players End of Season Awards Having churned through a whopping 39 players coming in the squad changed multiple times over the season, buoyed by the cup run I was able to attract and afford a better class of player towards the end of the season, thankfully meaning they would also be signed up for next season. However a few standouts for me: Enock Asante - Swooped in after his release from Spurs, and didn't he just reward my faith. Top scorer with 29 goals in 54 apps, and that was him having to play a pseudo target man role for me until I finally got a true big man. Not signed through to next season, and wants a decent wedge to stay. I'm not sure he will cut it at a slightly higher level, and I'm trying to follow the advice of there is no room for sentimentality in LLM. Jason Oswell - My big man, came in and gave the team a turbo boost down the back 9 scoring 18 in 22 in the league. Interestingly not one who has fallen down the leagues, but has plied his trade at this level for his entire career, a journeyman donkey! Also not signed for next season, and possibly I might have to let him walk. Tyler Hamilton - Breaking one of the LLM tenants, one I signed with half an eye on the future. Missed out on him originally as I couldn't afford the wages, and he went to Kingstonian. But with some room granted by improved finance and him being on a non-contract basis I was able to pick him up, and get him signed through to 2022. Probably my replacement for Asante, scored at a decent rate in his limited time at the club. Jamie Taylor - One of 3 loanees who were stalwarts of the 1st XI. Sat in the middle and pulled the strings for me as a DLP. Sadly under contract at Bristol City through to 2022 and they wanted 500K for him so will not be returning. Noor Husin - Another later signing, plucked from Dartford and came in to do a great job alongside Taylor as my BBM. He even manged to get a cap for Afghanistan during his time with us. Signed through to 2022 and expected to be a key starter again. Jay Mingi - Lastly, a player I actually offloaded. My first BBM, and a great player.... when available! The 20 aggression saw him pick up 16 yellows and 3 reds in 28 games for me. Too much of a liability so moved on, but it was tough choice as I think he had potential to be good enough for league football. Next Season With only 7 players signed through to 2022, I'm unsure how to proceed with resigning players. Though a lot have performed well I'm not sure they are good enough to bring up with me. I may well hold off and see what I can pick up for free, and see what loans are available too. Although I do have a transfer budget, I think it's best served using as wages. Aim has to be first and foremost staying up. Slightly confused my board has chosen to expand the stadium from just shy of 3,000 to nearly 3,000 as my average gate was below 500. Seems a waste of money to me. They won't budge either on upgrading any other facilities which is frustrating.

Feliks
Honestly about to permanently throw the towel in with Merthyr Town. All 3 seasons in the Vanarama North we've had lengthy stints leading the league and then choked. This season we were the best team in the league easily for 40 games, stumbled into 2nd on the final day and then lose the first playoff 2-1. None of my tactics seem to handle more than about 30 games and we had a really strong squad this year. Don't know if I can stomach another season in this godforsaken league. Crispypaul
Crispypaul WorthingLeague One 2023/24 League - Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 | Table - started off a bit poorly so I expected a bottom half of the table season. However we gradually improved results and ended up in the play off places. A great two-legged defeat of Wigan led to a clash of giants in the play off final - Shrewsbury v Worthing - and we comfortably won 3-0 for a 4th consecutive promotion. FA Cup - Fixtures - had some luck of the draws as we got lower league sides in the first couple of rounds. Championship Millwall were up in the 3rd round and we beat them at home. Just about beat Middlesborough in the 4th round, then luckily beat Preston away in extra time in the 5th Round. In the quarter finals were drawn away against giants and eventual winners Man City and managed to only lose 2-1. Great cup run that really sorted our finances. League Cup - Fixtures - knocked out narrowly by Salford in the 3rd Round. EFL Trophy - Fixtures - got out of the groups but had to play a youth side because of congestion whom promptly lost 7-1 and cost me £15,000 in penalties for an understrength team. Hate this competition and glad to see the back of it. Finances - much better due to the cup run, plus our youth setup is starting to pay dividends as I sold a player for £1.5m and 50% to West Brom. Transfers Squad Key players Danny Welbeck - only signed the veteran forward in January but his presence helped push to promotion Mark Brookes - ex Man City youngster was a revelation at right back Kieren Holdsworth - prolific striker formerly of Spurs Luke McCormick - decent central midfielder Harry Hagan - really solid centre half on loan from parent club Everton, although sadly didn't want a loan extension Neil Murphy - another good striker, also ex Man City Future - another tough season coming up...hopefully we'll make it Season Division Position FA Cup League Cup Europe Notes 2020/21 VNS 1st 3rd round - - League winners, promoted, FAT semis 2021/22 VNL 1st 3rd round - - League winners, promoted, FAT winners 2022/23 L2 2nd 4th Round 2nd Round - Promoted 2023/24 L1 5th QF 3rd Round - Promoted Edited June 12, 2020 by Crispypaul

Feliks
This guy is a demi-god for me now. 203cm tall, playing as a target man alongside a smaller, quicker teammate, he scored 35 goals including 31 in the league and won everything, Fan's Player of the Season, VNN Player of the Season, Golden Boot everything. And he's my club captain and now a club icon. Wanted by League 1 side Newport County but I'll never sell him, he's the centrepiece of the team, the jewel in our crown. Feliks
First game in the National League against an established top half finisher and we do this. 22 shots, 12 on target and 5 goals from just 39% possession, and with captain Rhydian absolutely dominating. He's now wanted by Championship sides Sunderland and Walsall. Don't want to get too carried away but we'll win every game this season.

lfc7
Haven’t posted for a while just been too busy playing the game. Stadia has a known save fail issue and today both my saves won’t load, angry is an understatement so can’t continue my save. Got screenshots if anyone wants them. I posted I won National North and National I then made it 3 titles on the bounce winning L2. first season in L1 finished 1 pt off playoffs then won auto promotion following season finishing 2nd. Was top of championship clear by 2 points after about 12 games. Honestly gutted first time I’ve tried anything like this and was one of the best saves I’ve ever had, got so much enjoyment from it and learnt an awful lot playing in the lower leagues. Anyway enjoy your saves everyone I haven’t got a clue what to do now

Feliks
Finished my 5th season and my 1st in the Vanarama National. Managed to secure a top half finish but our end of season form was worrying, and we were one of the worst defences in the league. Still, a decent foundation to build upon and at stages we looked like we might have a shot at the playoffs. I'll be able to attract some better players this off-season hopefully, now that we've established ourselves. In better news, we were outstanding in the cups and thanks to our runs in them we managed to turn a £300,000 negative balance into a £300,000 positive balance. Merthyr Town got its first moment in the spotlight by making it all the way to the 4th Round of the FA Cup, and we didn't disgrace ourselves by losing narrowly to West Ham. We one-upped this later in the season by booking our first trip to Wembley for the FA Trophy Final. After going 2-0 up, we nearly threw it all away, and went to the drama of penalties. Club icon and save favourite Rhydian Rowlands knocked home the winning penalty as we secured our second piece of silverware in two seasons. My defence was a bit of a shambles this season and my attack wasn't quite as potent as last season in the Vanarama North, but I was still pretty impressed with my dynamic duo up front. Captain Rhydian Rowlands has now won 4 consecutive Fan's Player of the Season awards and at 21 still has a long career ahead of him at Penydarren Park. He scored 21 goals this season, taking his career tally at Merthyr to 116 in 232 games, and also added a career high 14 assists. His strike partner Gareth Evans was the club's top goalscorer, with 26, and once again an extremely dangerous player on the fast break and around the box. He's now got 94 goals in 159 appearances for the Martyrs, and still very much my first option for next season. I often struggle to find a role for Alan Williams, as he's a natural attacking midfielder which doesn't really suit my style of play. But he's undoubtedly a brilliant player on his day, and has begun to adapt well to a deep lying playmaker role in central midfield. Started the season slowly but scored some cracking long range efforts and was one of my best in the latter half of the season. For pretty much the entire save I struggled to find a decent Welsh left back, so I paid a lot of money for Blake to come to the club and he didn't disappoint. Has a laser left foot but was a bit suspect defensively, so I'll need to tinker with the tactics to get the best out of him. Next season I'll be looking to reinforce a struggling back line, and probably get a new goalkeeper as well. We've got quite short defenders so I need a couple of man mountains to stop leaking goals from aerial battles. A playoff spot would be an optimistic goal, as long as we're continuing to improve I'll be happy. The cup run has enabled me to upgrade the youth facilities so hopefully we can produce some decent regens next April.

FA Cup - Fixtures - Man Utd ended our run in the 5th round League Cup - Fixtures - booked a trip to Wembley but were narrowly defeated by Man Utd Europa Conference League - Fixtures | Table - snuck past Braga in the play off to get a group of Qarabag, Hamilton Academical and Akhmat. A very comfortable group which we topped easily. Next we faced Hamilton again in the 2nd knockout round (we had a bye from winning the group. This competition is odd) whom we got past easily. KRC Genk of Belgium in the quarters were dispensed of easily. Fiorentina next in the semis where despite defeat in the away leg we still won the tie 6-4. Crispypaul
Crispypaul WorthingPremier League 2028/29 League - Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 | Table - after last season's strong finish I had high hopes for this season. We didn't have a great start though losing successive away games, however as the season went on we clicked and eventually finished as champions. FA Cup - Fixtures - Got to the semis fairly comfortably but then taken apart by eventual winners Chelsea League Cup - Fixtures - a repeat of the previous season as we faced Man Utd in the final again but a 1-0 win in extra time meant we lifted the trophy. Champions League - Fixtures | Table - AC Milan, AZ and Krasnodar made up a pretty good group considering we were 4th seeds. A couple of away draws and a tonking of Krasnodar at home meant we had a good start until a poor defeat at home to AZ in match 4. A good win against AC Milan and away to Krasnodar though meant we topped the group. Up next German side Borussia Monchengladbach who we beat comfortably 6-1 on aggregate. Then fellow German side Bayern Munich who were too good for us in the end. I didn't take a screenshot but our U-23 side also won the EFL Trophy.... Finances - rich rich rich. Our board are expanding the stadium so we're off to Brighton again for the season. Transfers - I am properly splashing the cash now. Squad Key players Niklas Sule - signed the experienced centre half on a free after leaving Bayern and he was solid Maxence Laurent - great again after his permanent move, but still not capped by Belgium for some reason. Wilfried Thomas - a £30m purchase from Sheffield United ended up as our top scorer Leandro - superb down the left again. Real Madrid are sniffing around though. Luis Claudio - £26m release clause bought this outstanding Brazilian central midfielder from Flamengo. A bargain. Dusan Kotora - has been with a few seasons now, the Slovakian centre half bought for £1m now a very strong defender. Ramiro Barreto - the Argentine/Spanish right back is another whom is at home in this team Season Division Position FA Cup League Cup Europe Notes 2020/21 VNS 1st 3rd round - - League winners, promoted, FAT semis 2021/22 VNL 1st 3rd round - - League winners, promoted, FAT winners 2022/23 L2 2nd 4th Round 2nd Round - Promoted 2023/24 L1 5th QF 3rd Round - Promoted 2024/25 Ch 7th 5th 4th - 2025/26 Ch 2nd QF QF - Promoted 2026/27 PL 6th SF QF - Qualified for ECL 2027/28 PL 2nd 5th Runners-up ECL Winners Qualified for CL 2028/29 PL 1st SF Winners QF Champions! tremor
Andre Williams Royston Town Vanarama National League North 2020-21 Pretty standard club, skint, very few players, a few players on too high wages for their condition/ability, very few fans but got their own ground... The idea that this town might be in some way related to 'The League of Gentlemen' almost made me change the name of the manager to fit Lets see if this local town for local people can make it all the way to the big time! Here we go!
tremor
Andre Williams Royston Town Vanarama National League North 2020-21 Overview Well, making up for lost time, sped through the first season, using my trusty tactics from last time out seemed to be extra effective, was pretty fortunate in picking up some great supporting players but also Royston had some surprisingly good players already. Didn't do much in the cups, but went the league season unbeaten which was pretty amazing really... the teams determination to grab a late goal to avoid losing was, well unbelievable really... Lets see if we can keep pushing on in the Vanarama National.

Fadedaf
Haringey Borough Season 2022/23 Report Decided to pick up my old dafuge save from a few months ago and realised I was at the end of another season, so here's the update before I get stuck in again! League- Started well again but this time we didn't have a mid-season collapse, carrying our form all the way through and despite a few draws near the end we secured the title by 9 points! A great season where we made lots of progress. FA Cup- We easily beat lower league Hartney Wintney and Margate before losing a close one to Plymouth from the division above. Not bad overall considering the draw we were handed. FA Trophy- We easily beat Kingstonian 4-0 before drawing Aldershot from the league above and dispatching them as well 4-1. We then scraped a 1-0 win over Leyton Orient and a 2-0 over Hartlepool, both from the Vanarama National. We demolished Gloucester city from the VNN 6-0 before drawing another VNN team in Buxton for the semi final. We won the away leg 2-1 and held them to a 2-2 draw at home booking our place in the final. Sadly the final consisted in a very disappointing 1-0 loss to Boreham wood at Wembley. Oh well, overall We did much better than expectations so I'm happy! Transfers Results Results 2 Best Players- Top Goalscorer: Kelsey Mooney (32) Another great season from the striker as he wins the award 2 years running. Most Assists: Jake Evans (16) Got even better this year, another back to back winner. Highest avg rating: Jake Evans (7.50) Most POM: Kelsey Mooney (12) Next season: I'm not entirely sure what to expect next season, but considering how well we did against teams from the Vanarama National in the FA Trophy, I think we will be fine. I'd be happy with mid-table but we may be able to do better! Crispypaul
Crispypaul WorthingPremier League 2029/30 League - Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 | Table - hoping to pick up the title again but a few disappointing draws meant Chelsea pipped us in the end. FA Cup - Fixtures - decent run to the final where we smashed Norwich 5-0 to win the cup. League Cup - Fixtures - made it to our 3rd final in a row where we faced Man City this time, who sneaked the cup with a last minute goal. Champions League - Fixtures | Table - Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Salzburg and Benfica were our opponents. Bar a narrow defeat in Portgual we smashed the group, two 8-0 wins against Salzburg being the highlight. Inter next in the 2nd round whom we beat with a comfortable home victory in the 2nd leg. Then Liverpool were next, a dull 0-0 away leg followed by us thumping them 4-0 to get into the semis. There we faced Athletic Madrid, despite losing in Spain in the first leg we won the 2nd to just sneak past on away goals. An all English final was against Man Utd and against all odds we won 2-0 to lift the European Cup. Finances - minted. Another expansion too. Transfers - two big buys early on, but a couple of sales too. Key players Maxence Laurent - amazingly prolific again. Not enough to get capped by Belgium though... Wilfried Thomas - UEFA Golden Boot winner occasionally in the France team Leandro - great again. Still not capped by Brazil. Luis Claudio - incredible central midfielder Ramiro Barreto - another solid season from the full back Juan Zubczuk - an absolute steal at £1.2m a couple of seasons ago, the Peruvian winger had an amazing season Christopher Mustapha - a product of our youth team finally made the 2nd centre half spot his. Mustafa Tembe - great young Belgian midfielder bought from Genk had a good season Enrico Viola - really strong centre half bought from Fiorentina for a hefty fee, proved well worth it Renato Pavan - the 2nd of my two strong Brazilian central midfielders Lorenzo Di Gennaro - brilliant left back bought from AC Milan Season Division Position FA Cup League Cup Europe Notes 2020/21 VNS 1st 3rd round - - League winners, promoted, FAT semis 2021/22 VNL 1st 3rd round - - League winners, promoted, FAT winners 2022/23 L2 2nd 4th Round 2nd Round - Promoted 2023/24 L1 5th QF 3rd Round - Promoted 2024/25 Ch 7th 5th 4th - 2025/26 Ch 2nd QF QF - Promoted 2026/27 PL 6th SF QF - Qualified for ECL 2027/28 PL 2nd 5th Runners-up ECL Winners Qualified for CL 2028/29 PL 1st SF Winners QF Champions! 2029/30 PL 2nd Winners Runners-up CL Winners Challenge completed I have completed the challenge so won't be updating this career going forwards. IL Luce
Now that was quick and harsh. Results We had a very bad run in October, but overall for a newly promoted team with 12 new players I think we had a decent start. My intention for the first season was to avoid relegation and I think I had enough games left to achieve that. League Table Transfers Well...I will continue with this save and wait for a newly promoted team.

Bruce Drundrige
I've just finished my first season, and I still don't have an U23 or U18 team. This is the first time I've experienced this in all the years of playing the game(s). I guess once I'm in a better financial position they will grant the request, but if I was determined to have signed my entire youth intake I wouldn't have had many games for them to play...! Fadedaf
Haringey Borough Season 2023/24 Report After promotion to the Vanarama National, we were aiming for a mid-table finish at minimum but had eyes on even more. There was a decent amount of squad turnover from last season but many key players remained. League- A solid start saw us battling it out at the top for the first few months, but our form just kept on getting better and eventually we solidified our place in first. It was close most of the way, however near the end the following pack began to fall off a bit and we won the title with two games to spare! Back to back promotions secured and we are in the Football League!! FA Cup- Pretty terrible. I played my backups in our first matchup away at Eastbourne Boro and we sunk to a 2-1 loss. Need to do better in this competition next year. FA Trophy- We beat Dorking 4-0 in the first round before Weston-super-mare took us to a replay after a 0-0 draw at their place. We easily beat them 3-0 in the return leg before scraping past Dag & Red 2-1 in the third round. Another tight win in the next round, 1-0 over Maidstone put us into the semi finals. We drew Barnet who are a bit of a bogey team for us and lost the first leg 1-0 away from home. The second leg started great as we quickly went up 2-0 but they came back into it and it ended as a 2-2 draw, 3-2 loss on aggregate. Overall a disappointing way to go out but can't be too unhappy with how far we got. Results Results 2 Transfers Best players- Top goalscorer: Ronnie Sentamu (27) The Ugandan Messi was on fire this year, despite tailing off a bit at the end and missing games due to international call ups he was still our best striker. Most assists: Hywel Evans (13) A brilliant season from our left back/left mid who also scored a few screamers. Highest avg rating: Ronnie Sentamu (7.43) Most POM: Ronnie Sentamu (8) Aims for next season are to survive up in League Two, and anything beyond that will be a bonus. Hopefully we haven't overextended ourselves with back to back promotions but we will see. I've arranged a few good transfers to come in over the summer and could potentially see a huge squad overhaul, which is probably necessary. bibird.
Too many years lurking, not enough years posting. I'm starting with the team, I believe, that is closest to me geographically IRL - Basford United Finances A quick glance over the squad leads me to believe I shouldn't need too many reinforcements (I'm not a fan of sweeping changes when taking over a club), so I should be able to maintain the board's demand to keep control of wages. I'll definitely be looking to bring in some staff, though, as we're completely barren in that regard. Edited August 18, 2020 by bibird.
IL Luce
Season I – 2020/2021 – National League South League Table | Playoffs | Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 | Fixtures 3 | FA Cup | Fa Trophy | Transfers | Squad We stood on the 1st place until March when the inconsistency struck and lost the important games, but even so we managed to promote via Playoffs. In matter of tactics, I switched between 3 different tactics based on opponent I faced: an aggressive 4141DMWide and 2 different 442s: one more direct that I played against the better teams and where I tried to exploit the space they left and one more conservative that I played against teams that defended deep and where I tried to drag them out by keeping the ball more. In both 442s we defended compact and in our half. Financially, we are okay but not too great because I overspent a bit on contracts. I have a wage budget of 48k p/m to play with in the next season. Key Players Josh Kelly – must be my best player this season with an average rating of 7.29 and 31 goals. Unfortunately he has a transfer arranged with Larne in Northern Ireland and will leave us. Michael West – played mainly as a BTB, he managed the most assists for us: 18. Owura Edwards – 7.21 average rating, 16 assists and 18 goals as a MR. Time to build the squad around West and Edwards for the next season. Cheers!
