Magika80
PORTSMOUTH F.CSTADIUM: Fratton Park (19,669 capacity, all-seater stadium built in 1898)TRAINING GROUND: ROKO Heath Centre,Portsmouth Couple of notable honours in there, best being the FA cup win back in 2008.Been on a steady decline since relegation from the Premier League in the 09/10 season.Promotion from league two in season 16/17 saw Pompey get themselves back on track again hopefully.. Roy Keane takes over from Kenny Jackett who has done a decent job in his last two seasons at the club, the board thinking it was time to shake things up a bit and Keane certainly fits the bill.Formerly manager of Ipswich Town,Sunderland and assistant manager roles with Ireland,Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest. Magika80
PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB 2019/2020 SQUAD: CLUB EXPECTATIONS START OF SEASON INJURIES Morris and Whatmough are the most significant losses to the squad with injuries at the start of the season that will make things tricky for the upcoming campaign, the rest are 3-4 months on average, feel though we have the squad to cope. Lets get started then eh?... Edited November 6, 2019 by Magika80
Magika80
TIME FOR CHANGE... Joe Gallen has been relieved if his duties as asst manager at Portsmouth as Keane decides to bring in his own men it seems,Paul Bracewell is the bookies favorite just now having worked with him previously at Sunderland. Magika80
PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB: PRE-SEASON ROUND UP: Quite a decent pre-season with some testing of diffrent systems and some roles, games against NAC Breda and Viktoria Plzen were the most difficult games, surprisingly beating NAC Breda fortunately.Wins against Gosport and a thumping of Havant rounded up the pre season affairs.Must also note that the Asst.Manager took charge of these games. Magika80
TRANSFER ROUND UP SO FAR: Not a lot of finances on offer at the moment so we have to really rely on the free agent and loan market to improve the team. Eduardo comes in on a free after his release from Legia Warsaw and adds a bit of quality to our frontline, stats are still really good at this age, hoping from big things from him. Exciting centre half prospect Eric Garcia comes in on a season long loan after Jack Whatmough is out for the biggest majority of the season, highly rated by Man City he fits in nicely in defence. Rhian Brewster was brought in on a season long loan from Liverpool in an ambitious loan move that paid off, rejecting Rangers to come to Fratton Park into the bargain. Will play up front with the highly experiened Eduardo. Gareth Evans goes out on a season long loan to Scottish Premiership side Hamilton on a season long loan, wanted first team football which cant be guaruanteed so will assess the situation again on his return. The attacking midfielder should do well for the accies. Magika80
PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB: AUGUST ROUND UP: Not the best of starts at Portsmouth for Roy Keane as its been a bit of a stuttering start to the season, drawing level at half time to Shrewsbury the team folded in the second half with Jason Cummings grabbing a double in the process,it was onto home against Tranmere with another lacklustre display against a team really should be getting the points against.. Rotated the squad against Cambridge in the Carabao cup and they delivered setting up a south coast derby against Fierce rivals Southampton,Eduardo showing his class in the match grabbing a goal in the process.. The next three games were diabolical to say the least could have played all day and not scored, missing chance after chance,we had to pick it up for the visit of Southampton!!! The game went in in at half time 2-0 and could easily have been more,Rhian Brewster running riot, the rawness of the young striker showing at times though in the match, missing several gilt edged chances, but we closed the game out with a superb win over the premiership side who were booed off the park and quickly up the tunnel they went!! - QPR away in the next round. Next up was high flying Blackpool who bet a tired looking side 3-1 Eduardo scoring the only goal. Not a good start to the season but we can recover Before the transfer window closed two more loans were secured from Parent club Tottenham (Troy Parrott - striker) and (Josh Harrop - Attacking Mid) from Preston Troy Parrott Josh Harrop We must improve this is not acceptable at all..Dont know why we are underperforming so badly to be in a place like this in the league just now - hopefully next update will bring good news! Magika80
PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB: SEPTEMBER ROUND UP: So september kicked off with the team knowing that they had to start improving performances fast at this early stage of the season and we welcomed Peterborough in the EFL trophy with a strong squad getting a runout including new Preston loanee Josh Harrop,Eduardo and Marquis getting the goals, wins against Burton and Wycombe propelled us up the league a few places after some hard fought games. It was off to QPR now in the Carabao cup 3rd round where we gave them a good game but in the end succumbed to a 1-0 defeat via a late penalty. Back onto league duty with a win against Bolton which saw Liverpool loanee Brewster smash a delightful 30 yarder in Overall pleased with September and hopefully we can gather some momentum with the performances shown. Slowly climbing the table as we should be..
