Popular Post Mons
We are happy to announce the release of v2.0 of the file enabling Maltese and Gozitan leagues in FM20.3.0, making changes for the January transfer window and for the official 20.3.0 update.. Apart from the playable league files, this download also includes: a) Over 2,900 Maltese and Malta-based player cut-out faces b) Logos for all Maltese clubs and competitions c) Kits for all Maltese clubs Thanks to Gerald Vella for the great work with the kits, and to the makers of the Cut-out Faces and Metallic Logo megapacks for the faces and logos respectively. When you start a new game, you will be asked to choose one of the 2 Maltese files. The file named FM20 Malta v1.0.fmf will give you the regular Maltese data, while the FM20 Malta v1.0 professionals.fmf file will see all the clubs set as professional to allow a wider choice of foreign players and giving you a better chance to progress in your career. You can only choose one of these options: the choice is yours'! Information about this file: Data is up-to-date as of 23/02/2020. Over 30,000 individual data edits including but not restricted to: • Around 100 existing persons edited to update everything from abilities to reputation, from personal information (date of birth, hair colour etc) to contract status, from player position to transfer and history information, and much more; • Over 1,100 new persons added so that ALL clubs have a full squad complement, including youth team players and backroom staff where known, and also referees; • All 67 clubs massively overhauled to update everything from reputation to youth stadiums, club histories to player and goalkeeper kit colours for all clubs, and also affiliate clubs; • All 67 clubs containing this season’s REAL players and backroom staff for maximum accuracy • Realistic competitions, including the real-life set-up and rules for all 4 senior Maltese divisions, the 2 Gozitan divisions and Sections A to E of the Youth FA competitions, as well as a semi-realistic Gozitan youth league; • National characteristics so that wages and transfer values are as close to real-life values as possible and also to regulate future transfer movement from foreign countries and regions in a realistic manner; • 30+ Awards added to mimic real-life awards, some of which can be voted for by the user; • 100+ Derbies added to mimic real-life rivalries; • 10 Stadiums added and assigned to clubs in order to correctly represent as closely as possible the real-life situation, within the limits of the editor; • 10 Media Sources (Radio & TV stations, websites and TV programmes) added to attempt to present realistic media coverage. As can be clearly seen, this was a massive undertaking and lots of time went into the research and preparation for this file. We’d like to thank all the persons who provided us with assistance and information with regards to data gathering. BurnCM4X from the official FM forum created the league format and other related issues, while drinu and mons collected and added all the remaining edits. If you notice any glaring mistakes, feel free to contact us so that the data may be corrected in future releases A Facebook page with the link to this file and some screenshots can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/FMMaltaFanClub/ Edited February 23, 2020 by Mons v2.0 released
Warg92
It seems like I was too eager to start my save in Malta. I should have waited for this!
TIR669
As always, this turns out to be one of the best updates for FM every year so can't wait to test this one as well. It's been 4 FM releases since I won the CL with a Maltese side so might go for it soon again. Mad props to you BurnCM4X, Mons and drinu for doing God's work all these years an hope it will continue for many years to come. These updates are always bug-free and on par with the official DB updates.

Svartica
Amazing work! I noticed one thing though. Lots of derbies is put in the db, without the respective clubs being set as rivals or even fierce rivals. Doesn't really make sense, but it's just a minor detail. Again, great work! Interesting, I thought I'd captured them all but I'll keep it in mind for the future
Kovacevic
Really impressive work. A couple of questions: 1) when I downloaded the equivalent database for an old version of FM it seemed like all the maltese clubs/leagues had had reputation boosts, players were increased CA across the board, etc. Is that the case in this version? 2) Since you do this work every year, what's stopping you and the game makers from working together to get all this information into the actual game database, perhaps with Malta then becoming a playable league? Thanks again for all of this.

Thanks again for all of this. 1) I'm not sure where you get this impression from, definitely not the case as far as I'm aware. 2) As can be seen from my status, I'm already Maltese assistant researcher for the official data. That said, there is already a very robust presence of Maltese players in the database. The remaining players are mostly either ones who only play in official competitions for a couple of years or so, or ones which are at such a low level that there is very little purpose to adding them to the official database. Besides, looking at it from SI's point of view, which is one I frankly concur with, there is very little financial benefit to adding the Maltese league as a playable one. It's not like the Maltese market is one which is so substantial that it will add a considerable amount of money to SI's coffers. Additionally, and that is something which can't really be captured within the restrictions of the pre-game editor, the amount of specificities required in terms of coding etc. to make it closer to real-life wouldn't be financially practical either. You'll just have to put up with my file for the time being, I'm afraid
