maverick_nc1
Hi all, is anyone able to explain to me the effects of the Forward Runs setting for Strikers. Ive read through the excellent TT&F but still a little grey in this area. Since strikers already start high up the pitch (relevant to mentality settings of course) i have no idea how this option is used. I could imagine a striker with FRW often getting caught offside a lot and one without lying quite deep but have yet to see this reflected in the match engine whilst testing. If anyone can shed any light it would be much appreciated.
Joor
Yes, setting FWR on often will encourage your striker to make lots of runs trying to beat the offside trap. High Anticipation, off the ball, and decisions is vital for this to work. I use fwr often with Inzaghi and he a monster when the opponents use a high defensive line ..13 goals in 11 games so far
maverick_nc1
Joor, thank you for your reply. Could you see any benefit at all from having a striker set with FWR rarely? I am currently using 4 -3-3 formation so find this interesting in discovering how to get the bets out of all 3 strikers...
Joor
Yes, a target man with good balance and strength - use play to feet and set him to pass short to the amc/wings or midfielders running forward. I do that with Marco Borriello when we play vs a team who defend deep with 10 men .
