TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN April 2020 How quickly things can change in football. Not long ago before I arrived we were the whipping boys of the league and now we are the form side and seemingly impervious at the moment. A perfect April, saves our bacon and secures our future in the league for another season even though I guess mathematically it is still possible we could still go down, but realistically we are now safe. We had some great results along the way smashing Roskilde away 5-1 and league leaders Helsingor 3-1 away too. These are the kind of runs that payback the bad times. We sit in the top half of the table in 6th. Had we taken over sooner, and with the same kind of form I could see us mounting a challenge for the top spot, but 7 points is going to be too much to make up I would say at this stage. I just want to keep winning and see where we can end up finishing.
TerminalPortugal
Our glorious run in April clearly convinced the board that we were the right man for the job for next season, so we get a new deal at the club until the end of next season. TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN May 2020 The end to the season was little indifferent as we picked up 2 wins and 2 losses. Strangely the home ties were the ones we struggled in. Still the job had been done the month before and we were well safe in the NordicBet Liga, which was my task when I was hired so very happy that we managed to do it without much fuss. Viborg end up taking the title and being promoted, we finish a very nice 6th place in the end. This is a fine achievement considering where we started when I took over the club. Our old club BK Avarta, are going back down to the 2. Division unfortunately for them. I really don't think they were ready to go back up so they might find it easier now with better players to build a squad that might survive in this division. The curtain comes down on NordicBet Liga season and we still have a job within it.
TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN Squad Overview - 2020 Here is the Naestved squad that competed this season. Of course we were not here all the time but it is pretty clear that the standout individual is Munksgaard. He has been an impeccable player, ending up top goalscorer and with the best rating. The problem for us is that we might have a really hard time holding on to him to be honest. Elsewhere Sebastian Broder Nielsen at fullback was great since we got to the club, he had been consistent on the pitch and one of the best trainers at the pitch, showing some real commitment to get us out of a relegation mess. Emil Ankersen, the loanee was equally vital in the other fullback position, again showing the need for our fullback to work hard in our system. The last person to mention would be Frederick Christensen whom was one of our first signings. I think he had done a grand job in that defensive midfield spot and he certainly made us much harder to score against. I am pretty happy with the squad if we can retain everyone, that is a major doubt at this stage so we may need to replace any of the players that may leave in the summer. TerminalPortugal
CAREER SUMMARY - 2020 LEAGUE CHANGES - 2020 This time around decay was suffered in Finland, Austria and Uruguay with 12%, 8% and 25% for the season respectively. Denmark, Ireland and Russia missed out on any decay. This now puts Uruguay as the league closest to being replaced on 37%. TerminalPortugal
The first piece of transfer business sees us bring in Casper Olesen. He is a striker, which should reinforce our options up-top.
TerminalPortugal
We complete deals on four players. Porsgrunn and Moller come in from Copenhagen, we sign them as their contracts were running out. They should flesh out some gaps. Westergaard comes in from Lyngby he could well be getting close to starting for us in midfield. Poulsgaard comes in from Velje, he will be the third centre back so will fill in for any injuries or suspensions over the season.
TerminalPortugal
I asked my scouts to give me a team report on some of the clubs in Denmark's Superliga, and Brondby had this guy and few others I was interested in. Niels Brodersen is probably good enough to be a first team starter at the heart of our midfield.
TerminalPortugal
Another Brondby youngster, in the form of Casper Hauervig comes in. We lost our backup keeper so I want him to push our starter, I could get into a little bit of trouble as he is set to be a first team starter but we will cross that bridge when we have to. TerminalPortugal
The Brondby loanee wave is not stopping just yet as we bring in right back Kasper Kjeldsen. He is a nailed on starter in his position as we are very poor there at the moment.
TerminalPortugal
Peter Bjur becomes the fourth loanee from Bronby on the right wing. He should improve us there.
TerminalPortugal
Gustav Junker becomes the fifth and final addition from Brondby on loan. The striker should improve us at the tender age of 17.
TerminalPortugal
The club is in the black again and this gives me the opportunity to study for my National A Licence.
TerminalPortugal
Alexander Hjaelmhof comes in on loan from Copenhagen. We had him at Avarta and he did well for us there, so I think he can replicate that again hopefully.
TerminalPortugal
The season preview has been out for a little while but I wanted to see what impact our signings would have on the odds and they have been slashed from 350-1 down to 25-1, I guess some punters out there think we have a decent chance of doing well this season. TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN Pre-Season 2020 Pre-Season went very well as we achieved 4 wins out of 4 and blooded the new players in preparation for the new season.
TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN August 2020 This season we have come out the traps absolutely flying. The youngster have come into the squad and we sometimes look like we are a level or two higher than some of these sides, which pre-season everyone was saying we would struggle against. In the cup we managed to make it through to the 3rd Round, even beating a very tough Lyngby side in the 2nd Round. The Skive result was a perplexing one. We utterly dominated the game, and before the game they were sitting at the foot of the table, but somehow the rolled with the punched and sucker punched us to hand us our only defeat so far of the season. There are now two promotion places as the league restructure seems to be complete. This means that we have two shots to get up to the next division. It is still early days and we may still crash and burn, but our start has given me a lot of confidence that we can be in the promotion picture this season. TerminalPortugal
Deadline day signing as we bring in another defender. He cost us £5.5k, he is going to be a starter I feel, but I needed some more depth in the defensive positions.
TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN September 2020 We started off the month very well with three wins and three clean sheets including a 4-0 win in the cup to book our place in the 4th Round of the cup, the first time I have reached this stage in my managerial career in Denmark, but towards the end of the month the wheels seemed to come off a little bit. We have a major issue at right back as our young right back Kjeldsen has a long term injury. Fortunately Brondby have not recalled him so when he is back we can get him back in the side, but it is a little threadbare there. Still it has been a positive month for us all things said and done. We top the table equal on points with Roskilde, but the game to 3rd place Fredericia is now only 2 points, the pressure at the top of the table is amplifying and we just need to keep this form up and try and hang on up there.
TerminalPortugal
Our great early season form has the backing of the board and they offer us a new 2 year deal, which we accept. This will keep us with the club until the summer of 2022.
TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN October 2020 Another month is in the books and I think the presure is beginning to get to us a little. We have not been bad but a heavy loss to Vendsyssel, when we were the better side, probably tells you everything. We did pick up another two wins and a draw, but we are being reeled in. We need some consistency going into the winter break. Roskilde leapfrog us into 1st position and Fredericia are now level on points with us. Vendsyssel are only a point further back from there. It is a very tight league table now, a bad month now and it could be over for us.
TerminalPortugal
On a positive note, we complete our National A Licence, I haven't even asked for the next qualification to be funded by the board as I know the club are slightly in the red and they won't fund in all likelihood at this time. Still we are advancing through the qualification at a reasonable pace.
TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN November 2020 It was a crunch month for us, we needed to keep up with the pack and I think we did that splendidly. The highlight was beating Roskilde in the fashion we did, in a real top of the table clash. We did exit the Danish Cup to Nordsjaelland, that was very much expected for us. The table makes pretty reading for us as we come to the winter break we sit at the top of the league and three points clear of Roskilde, and 4 points clear of Fredericia just outside the promotion spots. It's now a long break over the winter which is both a blessing, in that we get players off the injury list and a curse, as we may find that our recent fine form might well have gone by the time we come back to NordicBet Liga football. TerminalPortugal
Our first signing of the off season and in comes Rasmus Carstensen. The Director of Football found him, he is decent, but I sanctioned the transfer because he is versatile enough to play anywhere in midfield or up front.
TerminalPortugal
Brondby recalled their young keeper from us as he could not force his way into the team, that has meant we needed to pick up someone in case of injury and we pick up Sylvester Sorensen. He is very much a stop gap for us, and I hope he won't need to feature at all.
TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN Winter Break Friendlies 2021 We had a very good mid season set of friendly performances as we swept the board with 5 wins, and keeping 4 clean sheets. Looks good for the resumption of the season.
TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN March 2021 The return of NordicBet Liga football is here in March and we did just about enough to maintain our progression. We started the month off badly with a loss to HB Koge, but we did recover in the month with two and two draws. It's still so tight at the top of the league. It's now Fredericia and AC Horsens that are pressing us and there are 3 points between us. This is going to go down to the wire you feel and we need to keep our heads. TerminalPortugal
Esbjerg come knocking to offer us an interview, we will attend, but not sure we would take this job. They are really struggling with relegation and we might find that as things stands it might be better to stay with Naestved.
TerminalPortugal
Really big dilemma, Esbjerg have agreed to us joining next season and we they are definitely a much bigger club than Naestved. The question really is should I stay or should I go? It is a big risk, they are fighting for their life, some 3 points adrift at the moment from safety. It would be a bit miserable for us if we decided to leave Naestved, got them promoted and ended up back in the NordicBet Liga with Esbjerg. We will have a think and the next post will reveal all. TerminalPortugal
We have decided to make a big call and take the job at Esbjerg next season. It is a big call, we may end up lower down than we could be, but long term it is likely to be a better call.
TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN April 2021 We may be leaving Naestved at the end of the season, but that has not deterred me in wanting to get this club up to Superliga. We have been good this month, as we avoid defeat. There are some good results in the month, we are almost there now, just one final push now. We have 54 points. We are now only 1 point clear of Fredericia but crucially we are now 5 points clear of 3rd AC Horsens just outside the promotion places. TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN May 2021 Well we had a fantastic finish to the season, in the back of my mind I was just hoping we did not choke at this vital point and we did not. We wrapped up the title before the Fredericia game and then beat them denying them a return to top flight football. I am delighted with how the players produced on the pitch. In some ways it is a shame we are not going to be able to lead out the team in their first Superliga game, but the decision was made when it was made and there is not a lot I can do about it now. We end up winning the league comfortably by 7 points from AC Horsens whom are also promoted. NAESTVED ARE NORDICBET LIGA CHAMPIONS!!! The fans, the players, the board are all delighted that we managed to get promoted. We will not be joining them, but they go up with our best wishes for the coming season. In fact we will not even be in the same division. You could say I backed the wrong horse, as Esbjerg fB suffered relegation to the NordicBet Liga, so it looks like we will have another season at this level. At least they can say they have a manager who can get teams out of this division. I just hope we can keep a core of Superliga players at the club, otherwise things might get a whole lot harder. TerminalPortugal
NAESTVED BOLDKLUBBEN Squad Overview 2020/21 This group of players did absolutely brilliantly for me. The pick out players this season have to be Sebastian Broder Nielsen and Kasper Kjeldsen from full back. They have been incredible for us this season up and down the wings, putting in match winning displays almost every week. Next up are the two frontmen in youngster Alexander Hjaelmof and Gustav Junker who set the place a light with goals. They got a combined 49 goals between them this season in what was the best strike partnership in the league by a long way. Mads Nordam at centre-back was a rock for us and Marcus Porsgrunn, who played almost everywhere this season; at full back, in defensive midfield, central midfield was also an increibly important cog for us. In the end I could have picked pretty much the whole squad as standout players that's how well we played this season.
TerminalPortugal
CAREER SUMMARY 2021 LEAGUE CHANGES 2021 Two countries suffer decay this season, the Republic of Ireland and Finland by 15% and 13% respectively. Uruguay still lead the way on most decay with 37%. MANAGER PROFILE Edited December 18, 2019 by TerminalPortugal
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER We have finally made our move to Esbjerg fB, joining on the 11th June 2021 Esbjerg fB are from the town of Esbjerg, which is on the mainland of Denmark not too far away from Germany of west of Denmark. The city appears to be lovely and let's hope we can bring this large Danish club back to where they should be, namely the Superliga. The club play their games at the Blue Water Arena in Esbjerg, which holds 17,000 people. The squad look pretty good for this level. The standout player is Romanian forward Adrian Petre, he should do very well at this level. The new season awaits and we will see whether we can get Esbjerg playing some good football and hopefully get them back up to the Superliga at the first time of trying. TerminalPortugal
The fixtures are out and so are the betting odds for the league winner and we are favourites to go up next season. The board also expects us to win the league, so we had better not disappoint this season or I may be in for the chop.
TerminalPortugal
Our first signing as Esbjerg boss is to bring Portuguese goalkeeper Bruno Pinto. He looks like the first choice starter for us.
TerminalPortugal
Getting relegated has these consequences and we end up having to allow Adrian Petre, probably the best player at the club, definitely the best striker at the club to leave back to his native Romania. We do get a fee of £1.7m rising to £2.2m which is not bad, and we can probably do plenty with that.
TerminalPortugal
We bring in centre-back Kristian Riis on loan from Midtjylland for the season. He looks a very good young player and I think he will get plenty of game time for us this season

TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER Pre Season 2021 Pre Season went pretty well. I didn't expect us to get anything away to Werder Bremen, but even that was a decent result considering our stature and their stature. All round looking good for the coming season. TerminalPortugal
We bring in another centre back in Felipe Almeida, he looks a good squad player and can still improve a lot.
TerminalPortugal
Lars Bugge comes in on loan from Midtjylland, he is a winger who will add depth to the squad on the left wing.
TerminalPortugal
We have a bit of an injury crisis at striker that is forcing me to delve into the B Team. So we bring in Aral Simsir on loan from Midtjylland.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER August 2021 It has been a good first month in charge of Esbjerg as we go undefeated in the month. We are suffering a pretty serious injury crisis up front, where we are having to call upon B players at the moment. We did also make it through the in cup against Silkeborg. We face a tough challenge next as we drew Brondby in the next round. We top the table by a point from Lyngby and we are 4 points clear from Hobro IK in 3rd place. So far so good. TerminalPortugal
We are forced to sell another player in Essigba. He wanted to leave and we just tried to get as much money as we could for him.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER September 2021 A good month, but I have no idea how we lost to Hobro, we led 2-1 going into the 89th minute and somehow blew it. We are having problems managing morale, as a lot of players still want to leave because of the relegation and as opposed to mucking in for a season to get us back they are moaning about it. The highlight was definately battering Brondby in the cup, sending out a message to everyone that we are no pushovers. We sit in 2nd place, 4 points clear of Hobro IK and two points behind Lyngby BK. Still think we look excellent value to go up and probably win the division, despite the issues at the club. TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER October 2021 A decent month, but I am a little disappointed as we got humiliated in a top of the table battle against Lyngby. We are making this a lot harder than it has to be honest. We got through in the cup, there was not too much challenge from 2. Division opporsition. We sit in 2nd, now 5 points back from Lyngby and also 5 points clear of Hobro IK. Edited December 18, 2019 by TerminalPortugal
