TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER November 2021 Well we had a great month if at times a little uninspiring. We realistically needed to win all our games as Lyngby this season have been so consistent. The win against Roskilde was by far our best performance as we put them to the sword. We now go off for the winter break so it's good to get some positive results before that happens. It's now two points between us and Lyngby as we sit in 2nd. We are now putting a pretty large gap between us and 3rd placed SonderjskE, so promotion is looking a very good bet.

TerminalPortugal
I must have missed the message where we got our Continental C Licence, but we now have that and the board have agreed to fund me for my Continental B Licence. See selling all your best players does have an upside, it allows you to study!🤣
TerminalPortugal
The sales are having to continue, because this squad has quite a bad attitude to the relegation. Lasha was our captain and was regularly complaining about wanting to move, always manufacturing a move away. So finally we let him go to Bulgaria to join Ludogorets. We have probably made more money being out of the top league than it with all the sales we have made.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER Winter Break Friendlies 2022 The winter break is over and we passed the test winning all games. Now to the remainder of the NordicBet Liga season.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER March 2022 It's been a weird month, when I think we are shoe-ins for the win, we seem to throw the game, still it was a good month. The win against Lyngby has given us an advantage in the league and to be honest we needed that win or we were going to be quite a way behind them, but by winning we are still in there. In the cup we got a great win in the Quarter Final against OB, an injury time goal won the game for us and we advance to the semi finals. I never really considered that we could win the Danish Cup but now I think we might be an outside shot at it. We are two points behind Lyngby but with a game in hand, and we could move a point ahead if we win it. We are now 9 points, potentially to be 12 points ahead of SonderjskE. Promotion looks very likely at this time but I want to win the league as well.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER April 2022 It's been another good month and one that has guaranteed promotion for us. It did not start out that well however as we struggled for goals and ending up with two goalless draws to start things off. Things did improve and the crowning moment of the moment is when we got past Superliga outfit Velje in a surprising fashion 5-2 to book our place in the Danish Cup Final. Up until recently I have not been paying much attention to it, but somehow we managed to do it. We will be playing Nordsjaelland in the final and we will be heavy underdogs going in. We are promoted and now sit 3 points behind Lyngby. You have to give Lyngby credit as they have been in a real consistent vein of form. We can still win the league, but we will need some luck and Lyngby to mess up for that to happen.
TerminalPortugal
With promotion secured the club feel they were ready to offer us a new contract. We sign it and will be with the club until the summer of 2024.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER Danish Cup Final - Esbjerg vs Nordsjaelland Well we went into the final as major underdogs, and I was expecting us to lose, and I was hoping it just wasn't an embarrassment. Perhaps it should have been Nordsjaelland who should have been worried. In what must be the craziest cup final I can think of, the NordicBet Liga side put last years champions to the sword 6-0. I would at this point say I was very proud of the guys, but I am more shocked than anything. Well I am very happy to win the Danish Cup, a great achievement. ESBJERG ARE DANISH CUP WINNERS!!! TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER May 2022 The season is complete and it in the end the title went down to the final day, if we won barring a huge Lyngby victory, we would be NordicBet Liga champions, and so the 1-0 win against Fredericia handed us the title, and in the end we needed the win as Lyngby also won on the final day of the season. This completed our double this season as we also picked up the Danish Cup in the month. It caps off a remarkable season in the end, and one that I would never have predicted at the start. In the end it was goal difference that seperated ourselves and Lyngby as we both finish on a record haul of 72 points. ESBJERG HAVE WON THE NORDICBET LIGA!!! TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER Squad Overview 2021/22 The squad noticeably shrunk as the season went on as players left that were unsettled following the relegation of the club from the top flight, but we ended up coping amazingly and pulled it out the bag at the end of the season to complete an incredible double. Lauridsen was probably our best player this season, down the flank from fullback. In my systems the fullbacks tend to get a lot of the ball and he benefitted from this repaying the faith in his abilities. Aral Simsir, who only came in because of an early striker injury crisis ended up being invaluable up front for us as he bagged 23 goals for us, the same as Patrick Egelund, the other joint top goalscorer at the club, but Simsir's general play contributed probably more than Egelund. Anyembe, the other fullback was also one of the better performers this season, he almost went during the winter break due to pressure from clubs trying to prise him away but we were able to keep hold of him, which proved very handy in the end. Lastly I will pick out new Portuguese centre back Felipe Almeida, he had a very good maiden season with us and ended up being a very astute pick up for us in the transfer window. TerminalPortugal
CAREER SUMMARY 2022 LEAGUE CHANGES 2022 This end of season Ireland, Russia, Finland and Austria suffered decay by 1%, 10%, 28% and 15% respectively. Denmark and Uruguay escaped any decay. This now puts Finland on the highest league decay of all the leagues and the closest to being replaced. TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER July 2022 We have had a very nice start to the season, one that I would have snapped your hand off for considering where we are meant to finish this season. We performed very well away from home beating AaB and AGF. Nordsjaelland did get a measure of revenge on us for their humiliating loss to us in last season's Danish Cup Final, but we were still very competitive in that game so it bodes well I would say. We sit pretty at the moment in 4th place after 3 games played.

TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER August 2022 Our great form continues as we go unbeaten in the league and get through the cup against lower league opposition. The highlight of the month was giving Copenhagen a spanking in front of our fans. We look a very tidy side at the moment. Well we sit a brilliant 3rd at the moment and are well in the mix for the Championship playoffs at the moment after 7 games played.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER September 2022 September was all about the Europa League. The Qatar World Cup is clearly causing some issues with scheduling and so we mostly played in Europe over the month. We actually did really well this month. We got two home draws in our first two games in Europe and then stunned Feyenoord at home. We could not replicate the same trick in Moscow, but we are in 2nd place with two games against Istanbul to come. We also made it through the cup this month and in our only league game we outclassed last year's rivals Lyngby to record a win in the league as well. We are 4th but we have a lot of games in hand over most around us/. If we won both our games in hand over Nordsjaelland we would be just one point behind. Very happy with the league position at the moment.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER October 2022 Our form just continues to get more and more impressive with each passing month. This time around the league was centre focus and we did an outstanding job as we have really hit top form in this league season. We are defying all expectations and it is beginning to look like we might be fighting for the title this season, since we show no signs of letting up. We did also play one game in the Europa League against Istanbul at home and showed them a footballing lesson as we swept off the pitch 5-0, to qualify for the Knockout Rounds of the competition. We now sit top of the league tied on points with Nordsjaelland who have also been extremely impressive this season. With one game to play, the top cannot be dislodged and we are one of them, we will be finishing 2nd regardless of whatever result we get in Istanbul, when we play them next month. CSKA advance in first place. Feyenoord are probably the surprise as they sit bottom of the group yet to win a game in the competition.
TerminalPortugal
ESBJERG FORENEDE BOLDKLUBBER November 2022 November is a short month for us before the winter break kicks in, and it featured no league games so the league table remains the same as before. This month we went to Istanbul and pulled off a great performance in a dead rubber against Basaksehir to win 4-0 there, but unfortunately we could not repeat our Danish Cup exploits this month as we went out away to Copenhagen 2-1 after extra time. I guess it is a little disappointing, but we can now concentrate on the league and Europe for the remainder of the campaign.
TerminalPortugal
Well our first Premier League club has coming calling and it is Leicester City, who are struggling in the league just above the relegation spots. Moving to the Premier League is a bit of a no brainer, but I would be sad to leave my Esbjerg adventure without completing the season. We will see what becomes of this interview. TerminalPortugal
Well it did not take long for Leicester to get back to me offering me the job at the King Power. I guess we will need to think about this. The next update will either be me arriving in Leicester or me rejecting the job, there is no option for me to wait until the end of the season like I did with Esbjerg. TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY In the end the lure of being a Premier League manager proved too strong and we take the job at Leicester City. It is a shame as I was enjoying my time with Esbjerg and was intrigued to see what we could do this season. Leicester is our new home and it is the East Midlands. The King Power Stadium is where we will be playing our home games, the stadiums seats 32,312 fans. The squad to be honest looks very decent, with the likes of Jack Butland in goal, Harry Maguire and Michael Keane at the back, James Maddison in midfield and Kelechi Iheanacho up front, I think we can be doing a lot better than where the club are currently finding themselves. We sit 16th in the league and fortunately there is a winter break this year for the Qatar World Cup, that will give us a little time to work with non-internationals and hopefully get our nails under the skin of the club before we return to league football. TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY Winter Break Friendlies The friendlies have come and gone over the World Cup and we have been pretty good. We have picked up a lot of red cards over these games, so I hope this is not a sign of things to come, but we managed to win all our games over the period including a Friendly Cup on penalties against Marseille. TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY December 2022 Our first game and our only game of December is the FA Cup 3rd Round tie against Bolton Wanderers away and it ended up being a bit of a disaster, despite dominating the game we ended up losing 2-1. TerminalPortugal
We bring in Boris Radunovic from Hannover 96, he looks like he might be a better goalkeeper than Jack Butland, so it will add some depth at that key position.
TerminalPortugal
Unsettled fullback Rick Karlsdorp leaves for Napoli for £16.5m. A shame as I wanted to keep him, but there was very little I could do about it.
TerminalPortugal
We bring in young Argentinian right back Rodrigo Sanchez, he is currently on a youth deal, so can't play in the first team, but he will develop.
TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY January 2023 The month is over and and I am reasonably pleased with the performances. We led Liverpool 2-0 on 88 minutes and somehow contrived to concede three late goals, so that was extremely annoying, but elsewhere we were pretty good. The Chelsea game was always going to difficult and we did not really have a great performance in that one, but our form has improved from where we were. We have moved up to a much safer 12th place now, but we do still need to be careful to not be dragged into the relegation fold again.
TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY February 2023 It was always going to be a tough month with Arsenal and Manchester City to play. It went okay this month, we probably played better than the results we ended up getting. We need to become a little bit more ruthless. We sit 11th in the league and we are now moving well way from the relegation places. I think this season will be all about consolidating our league status and hopefully end up in a decent top half league position.
TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY March 2023 March has been a much better month as we beat top of table Manchester United and get three wins and a draw over the month. We look to be building a little bit of form. We sit 7th, probably as far as we can rise, so the job now is to remain in that position this season and hopefully build next season on this.
TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY April 2023 We have reached absolute peak perfoermance at the moment. We have been pretty much unplayable this month. Some of the moaning has died away and the players have begun to get their heads down and are performing brilliantly. In this month we had a 5-0 smashing of Newcastle United and an 8-2 away demolition of Wolves at Molineux. So a very memorable month for us. We have quickly opened up a 10 point lead to West Ham United, meaning that we will be finishing 7th, no matter what happens now as we are also unable to catch Chelsea in the league. May be a good time to rotate a few players in.
TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY May 2023 A good final month to the end the season. A visit to Anfield was far too much for the boys to contend with but we did beat Villa and Spurs. We end the season in 7th place, 8 points behind Spurs. A good performance considering where we started. Manchester City walked the league this season and Middlesbrough, Brighton and Crystal Palace are relegated from the league. TerminalPortugal
LEICESTER CITY Squad Overview I have got to say the squad performed admirably about the time we got to February. After that we were excellent. Jamal Lewis was probably the player for the season at left back, Harry Maguire was a rock at the back for us. Young Ivan Speed on the left wing was also great this season as well as wonderkid front man Daryl Sedgeley who started banging in the goals once we put him up front alongside Iheanacho. TerminalPortugal
We manage to steal a march on a load of clubs on a transfer target from South Africa in Felix Mtawali, he could become a world class fullback so he is a snip at £575k. TerminalPortugal
I decide to cash in Kevin Kampl, he is already 32 and was moaning last season about missing home, we let him move to Bournemouth for £18.5m
TerminalPortugal
We decide to cash in on Kelechi Iheanacho, as Tottenham Hotspur were willing to pay £56m. I think we can replace him. I want to deploy a bit of a moneyball strategy when it comes to transfer with Leicester City so that we are able to compete with the big boys in a few years. TerminalPortugal
With all the transfer revenue flowing in there is no excuse not to grant me the ability to study for the Continental A Licence, which have now started and will take a year to complete. TerminalPortugal
I am always looking for bargains and Shoya Nakajima looked a great bargain for £7m, he should help us add depth on the wing and he only costs £7m
