Star Ratings Explanation

Basically is 3 stars still a pretty good rating for your players?

 

I have a 5 star player in defense say, if the other players are 3 stars is that still good in relation to him being 5 star.

 

Also is it just your team the ratings are against or is it in your league.

The ratings of your players are based against the other players in your team, so if a player is around 2.5-3 stars, they're right at the level of your other players generally, and that 5 star player is significantly better than the team average.
