Chief Scout and Scouting Knowledge

If I fire my Chief Scout (and replace him with one with better JPA but worse scouting knowledge), will it reduce the numbers of players in my Player Search?

The number of players in your player search are largely determined by your scouting packages. If your scout has knowledge of countries the rest of your club doesn't and are not included in your package then this is the only time it could lead to people being removed from the player search screen when you replace him.

I don;t know how much of an effect it would have, but yest  I think so.

The Player Search results are, I believe, pulled from the Scouting Package AND the scouting/staff teams knowledge. So there would be an impact on the overall knowledge if, as @likesiamesefish says, you 'lose' a region or nation that noone else has knowledge of.
