whyidie Posted March 3, 2020 Share Posted March 3, 2020 Brought Sunderland back up in two years thanks largely to loans. First year in Prem finished 8th. Squad got cannibalized, decided to sit on the money and let the kids play. On 11 points in January and the board gave me a B rating! Got to say after playing teams expected to win week to week, its really nice having low expectations. Now when Anthony Rudiger nets three against me in two games, I don't lose consciousness. If we hit the woodwork five times against a better squad (thats pretty much the whole league) and end up losing by a goal, I'm absolutely thrilled! 6 match losing run ? Oh well, we showed some great spirit out there! Give up three goals in the last 20 minutes to lose to Arsenal ? We shouldn't have been ahead in the first place! I'm enjoying life so much I'm hesitant to spend during the winter transfer window. Can bring better players in, but as of now we're making a profit M2M and the youngsters are gaining invaluable experience. Just not sure if we can avoid the drop.
