If you bid during the season, or the couple of weeks post season, there is no competition at all for players. For example, Brescia got relegated and Tonali was available for 15m. There should be a massive fight to secure this player, he ended up going to newly promoted Hamburg (online save). There should be a greater focus on controlling the wage budget, if you've just got promoted to the prem and your highest earner is on 30k, its highly unrealistic that your board would be happy with you spending 70k a week on a left back.
