Central Europe scouting region covers too many countries

Is it it just me or is this region too big? I like assigning my scouts to regions to find future talent, but realising that the Central Europe region covers countries like Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy and many more it feels like it could do with a split up making it easier to specialise your club scouts.

In Europe alone there's UK & Ireland, Scandinavia, Central Europe, East Europe and South Europe, but no West Europe which would otherwise help split up the central Europe region a bit. South Europe also seems a bit thin as it so far only seems to cover Greece, Turkey and Gibraltar (there might be more). 

I wonder what kind of thoughts went into making the regions as they look in game and not just follow the general division of Europe like the attached image, it would make the regions more balanced

I believe there's some licensing issues that prevent SI from making maps/regions more flexible. Nevertheless you are right, Central Europe is possibly the most important region when it comes to scouting for the top European leagues. I try to have more than one scout on this region, plus other scouts for competitions such as the CL/EL/EC.

Do you recall where you read/heard that? I understand a reluctance by Si to group certain nations together again, the Balkans for example. Also, as we know from Google maps, country borders can also be contentious and you wouldn't want to alienate a particular market by misrepresenting how/where they understand their countries border to be.

That said.....The way around this is to simply give each user the ability to group the nations they want together and create bespoke scouting regions as they desire. Personally I'd like to see the countries split in to regions too for more control.

I remember that argument from an old thread here, at the time the game did not have a world map and the reason was licensing. So I guess having the map has been solved, but to rename regions might still be an issue.
