I thought another way to expand the pool of available regen names would be to incorporate people from past games who have since been removed from the database (due to retiring, etc) - using their IDs or some such, taking the most recent game they were in. I'm not sure how many people this would encompass in total, but I feel any expansion of the regen name pool would be beneficial to the immersion.
