Yes he is doing well. Him and Fraser are doing well for us and our relatively young so gives us time to develop our young players coming through whereas in other areas we have had to thrust them into the first team.

Yeah Fraser done alright for me but not as good as Powell. Have you tried Sarkic up front as an Advanced Forward. He done well for me up front.

Sarkic is currently playing out right and he's doing quite well. He played quite a few games up top last season but I need to develop Giddings currently as he is literally our only striker once Akins starts thinking about retiring.

Akins was still going strong for me at 36 years old in the Prem so you have him a bit longer.

Sarkic was good in the Championship but couldn't make the step up to the Prem once I got promoted.

It has been a big big struggle. Injuries and suspensions started hitting us hard and as mentioned before we simply do not have the squad depth to handle it.

League Table

image.thumb.png.b6535a66403907a70cf9026c793ef5a8.png

We have dropped into the relegation zone but we do have a game in hand. It is going to be a massive 7 games for us!

image.thumb.png.904cb94216d0a3fbbf9a546c9afdd6c7.png

We had an amazing FA Cup run, 2 mental games against Peterborough and a further 2 against QPR before a more straightforward game at home to Millwall gave us the big game away at Man Utd in front of 76000 people. We did not disgrace ourselves at all and it required an 88th minute Cavani winner to beat us!

Player Review - Rivaldo Clarke (YP20E)

image.thumb.png.446fb4e973bdc64150c1125a55605f67.png

Continues to develop well and as you will see below he is our first youth player to hit 100 CA!

Youth Watch

More development here and Clarke has hit the 100 CA and should be followed fairly soon by Rodriguez and Giddings. It has been a tough season but in terms of their development it has been vital!

Youth Intake Part 1

image.thumb.png.fd675670aa773d78b7dc1793f1585480.png

I really like the look of this, we have a few defenders there which we badly need and also a few other areas which we are getting covered off. Lets compare the PPA versus PA...

image.thumb.png.2b4fb939454a236d162b4f3f73af63d7.png

For a change we are not too far off, some small movements but not much. The top players being the ones perceived as the best. I have signed all of those that I tagged. Some pretty poor personalities but hopefully we can change those!

Youth Intake Part 2 - The Players

Lets have a look at these players! (Side note I realised half way through this that I had changed my default few a month or so back in game to land on attributes. I have since then turned it back as I prefer having that additional bit of info but cannot be bothered re-taking screenshots and players have developed since!

YP21A - Peter Griffiths

image.thumb.png.6b5a0f20e227ec5bbc75767be5b1faee.png

Griffiths (YP21A) has some really nice stats already especially from a mental perspective. I am not sure whether to utilise him in the first team yet or not. Think I will let him develop in the youth squad for rest of this season.

YP21B - Mason Shelley

image.thumb.png.5995ae31b6dc2dac6ab86f04cac5c191.png

Shelley (YP21B) is probably the most first team ready player. As we dont utilise the attacking midfield position then I will bring him in as a striker. He has some good stats for it and will hopefully become our number 3 striker. I will bring him up to the first team squad immediately.

YP21C - Adam Fenlon

image.thumb.png.af617293e06c25cc294fb848910ada57.png

Fenlon (YP21C) comes in in a position that we really need. His current ability isn't too high but we really need to develop defenders. I will bring him up to replace Lal and Richardson in the first team squad. He wont get many minutes but may get some before end of season.

YP21D - Toby Rodgers-Price

image.thumb.png.6cbecbbf5299968c651691b7e4a015a3.png

Rodgers-Price (YP21D) is similar to Fenlon. Not much ability currently but we need to develop him. So he will come up as well to replace the duo of Lal and Richardson.

YP21E - Steve Francis

image.thumb.png.dfb74b9d0a3a65a38e777996b893bc2f.png

Francis (YP21E) plays in a position we are fairly stacked in. He has some decent potential but will continue with the youth team for now.

YP21F - Jamie Clarke

image.thumb.png.4f0cff7d4436d1b53c1c85e32ec4169c.png

Clarke again comes through in a position we need but doesn't have the same ability as Rodgers-Price and Fenlon currently so will develop in the youth team.

YP21G - Brian Purver-Tracey

image.thumb.png.4283cf6be645dfe417fc391288712c07.png

Purver-Tracey is a different type to our usual midfielders. More settled to a defensive role. Not needed in the first team now but will keep an eye on his development.

YP21H - Marco Barnickel

image.thumb.png.06e675cbe2593bf55c1ac2cd698621db.png

Barnickel (YP21H) has an awful name but is one of those players that can play anywhere at the back a bit like Frank can do. Will develop in the youth team for now but could be a handy squad player in the future.

YP21I - Abdul Akrofi

image.thumb.png.b29bf2794d2358bbb679051a51571568.png

Akrofi (YP21I) is another young goalkeeper. He will be our 3rd choice keeper and will continue to get games in the youth team for now.

End Of Season Review - Survival?

Results

image.thumb.png.9085c760d415b085ac1b8bfa86b6c94d.png

Well that run in April went a long long way of ensuring we stayed in the Championship for another season! The Brentford game confirmed this and for the last 2 games 10 out of the 11 players starting where youth products!

League Table

image.thumb.png.e09719746d6b6047339e2f13bb5efd5b.png

Would have taken that at the start of the season!

Player Review - Simon Frank (YP20F)

image.thumb.png.088883a07b77e26c5d09574b9dc399c9.png

Not a very high PA but I love his mental stats and the fact he covers everywhere. Also knocked in 4 goals for us this season!

These are the players in the first team all of which made their debuts! RodriguezClarkeFrank and Koreniuk with massive CA jumps this season. Disappointed with Giddings however. The others are starting to develop now as well which is good!

Amazing work in the 1st season mate and congratulations on staying up! 👏

I read your new intake as Peter Griffin at first 😅…looks like a nice prospect with that 20 determination too! 🔥

I was very close to renaming him that 😂. Thanks been a tough season but survival was our only aim and we got it.

Turns out the guy with the most English name possible also has Danish heritage!

I hope you don't mind but just a tiny little bit of history here ;) but the surname Frank originates from early Roman times as an ethnic name to describe the Germanic people who lived near the river Rhine. It was brought to England by the Normans.

I really like this sort of review because while a lot of us guess and hint at what we think might have happened and why, this actually spells it out.

In particular I like to compare the 2 Unambitious players and it's clear that the single biggest driver in player development is simply playing time. We can go on and on and on about this personality and that personality, but the truth of the matter is that what improves players most is playing time on the pitch.

Players who play more develop, (in the main), more than players who play less.

In this case it might be worth looking at Giddings and McCone to see why they buck the trend.

What I would say though is that having teenagers play 40+ games a season is going to have a cost at some point. Having teenagers play 50+ games a season is going to have a cost very soon. On that note I can't see how it's possible to play Giddings 54 times without playing him at rubbish condition. What is the lowest you will play him at or don't you have a minimum level?  (Oh hang on. That's split over 2 seasons isn't it? That makes more sense.

Why do we think McCone was able to buck the trend and improve by 20 points despite only making 5(4) appearances?

Sorry made a mistake with the appearances. A lot of those are sub appearances. Good catch, I will fix it tomorrow. I am not sure about the development. I have my other non first team players being tracked as well and some of them are developing at 18 or 20 CA points for the season but without having such a high PA. McCone I maybe assume is developing despite not playing as much because his CA is much lower but not 100%! I have had a lot of random personality changes as well going from bad to very good to balanced etc. I might track that as well soon.

Squad Review 2021-22 - Part 1

Half of our first team squad (10 from 20) are now youth team players and if we need to call any additional up due to suspensions they will also be youth products. We are still a long way of having Championship ability but the more we develop these now the more we will benefit in the long run.

Goalkeepers

image.thumb.png.605f6d9524c9db8b275b58c46eaf2700.pngimage.thumb.png.e49a7e440157f9dd8bc84e42b8729a59.png

This is an area which I am happy with. Rodriguez is our number one but Sharman-Lowe is a more than capable backup and does also get game time.

Full Backs

image.thumb.png.0f122ae4ce5c8aca6dad8d5e0e374479.pngimage.thumb.png.0af1ed2f6206b15c63a21bb94fab18c6.pngimage.thumb.png.ea8c34895cdf8731315580282eb1d40f.png

Brayford is coming to the end of his career and we really do not currently have an adequate backup. Rodgers-Price (YP21D) is a long way from being at this level but we will have to give him games to develop to eventually take over at right back. Hutchinson I really like and he has performed well for the 2 seasons we have had him providing a lot of assists. We have centre backs who can also cover these areas if need be but it isn't ideal!

Centre Backs

image.thumb.png.4a4d9a72954bade124304625f95e7c3b.pngimage.thumb.png.72e1e4e5d952b604e5c7a9f85653cbf5.pngimage.thumb.png.007220784b19a2ece873c2f8d54e41d0.png

Quite like the full back position we dont have many bodies here. Frank (YP20F) and Wallace are our 2 starting centre backs with Fenlon (YP21C) providing cover. But like the centre backs are providing cover for the full backs in case of injuries or suspensions our full backs are also doing the same for our centre backs.

Squad Review - Part 2

Centre Midfielders

image.thumb.png.7262d1dc606ed38469078144536c5afd.pngimage.thumb.png.57416005b474531fbe6619252ab0091e.pngimage.thumb.png.4d25240f708d937eae874633fd022dca.pngimage.thumb.png.62b9786cabc4e70c506cb1f774f1ce01.pngimage.thumb.png.d08c73d0055ba33c4c80a55ae532f4fa.png

This is our most stacked position. Both Fraser and Powell are genuine Championship players and they currently start for us. Fox was a big prospect but multiple injuries seems to have stopped any major development. Koreniuk (YP20D) and Griffiths (YP21A) both have good potential and I will try and get them some cup games or sub appearances to bring on their development.

Wingers

image.thumb.png.3d702a9cee2e7a4210f628326a751197.pngimage.thumb.png.356efa07807509861f2086ad96b756e2.pngimage.thumb.png.7da616c3eaa0388962c45aae00b6a984.png

Another area we really dont have much depth in although we do have Akins and Shelley who are both strikers in our squad that can cover if need be. Sarkic and Clarke (YP20E) are our starting 2 with young Rivaldo being our standout youth player so far with his performances and development. McCone (YP20A) is still some way of being Championship quality but I need to give him game time to develop also where I can.

Strikers

image.thumb.png.338f22302c70f4941f272df8d576ec64.pngimage.thumb.png.0e36b359ea77ea1232200454f706b2c3.pngimage.thumb.png.0df171c56261b3f6c53da63d5e85a934.png

Akins and Giddings (YP20C) are still our starting 2 but with Akins' age I will be giving more and more game time to Shelley (YP21B) to get him up to the required level. We also have Sarkic who can do a job up top as well.

First Team Youth 2021-22

image.thumb.png.e8c58ba48bd5c5be34b721b2aae343a1.png

The above is the 10 youth products who are in our first team for this season although they may be joined by a couple more depending on injuries and suspensions. Will be interesting to see how more game time helps those who havent played as much develop quicker in terms of CA improvement.

Youth Intake All Time

image.thumb.png.0f6f949b3d1f01d4e37bbd8203c81cf3.png

Here is the view I have for youth intakes all time. 3 of the bottom 4 will be getting released as they simply will never be good enough. Interesting to see here than McCone (YP20A) and Koreniuk (YP20D) have had big jumps in CA despite not getting as much game time as some others such as Giddings (YP20C). Giddings is the one I want to be keeping an eye on this season. I am in the process of switching out most of my coaching staff to see if this helps players develop more. @Jimbokav1971 Half way through the season I will compare those players playing more this season compared to last to see how their CA development looks.

It has been a very good start to the season for us mixing some good wins with some poor losses. But as a young developing team I am very happy with this!

League Table

image.thumb.png.e8ccb93143af9720c0f4fb5460f558f4.png

We sit in 9th which is a great position for us. I doubt we will finish here but we have opened a sizeable gap to the relegation zone.

Player Review - Michael Koreniuk (YP20D)

image.thumb.png.8d49136394e7daa7806d52a8bc819d42.png

Koreniuk is developing well in terms of his CA improvement but got a couple of month injury at start of the season which means he hasn't had too much game time!

Youth Watch

image.thumb.png.b8d3590915c656993c7549a11859df8d.png

So here is the development for this season so far. I am honestly not sure what aids the quickest development now. Lets look at our biggest increases in Fenlon (YP21C) and Rodgers-Price (YP21D). Fenlon has made11 starts and 2 sub appearances and as I would expect some decent development as he has a lot of PA available. Rodgers-Price is similar in terms of he has a lot of space for development towards his PA but he has only played 1 game from the start and 1 sub appearance but has still developed at a rapid rate. In terms of the others Clarke (YP20E) has been the standout again along with Rodriguez (YP20B). Nice to see that Giddings (YP20C) is developing a bit quicker this season which is nice!

Another keeper (per usual) and a defensive midfielder. Lot of full backs as well so lets hope one of them is a good prospect as we are struggling in that position. No mention of centre backs in good or bad so lets see what happens there!

We havent been great in the past few months but we have picked up a couple of vital wins that is keeping us comfortably (Currently) above the relegation zone whilst developing our young players.

League Table

image.thumb.png.737bcf8ff28fec505debb73c95864599.png

We sit 8pts clear of the relegation zone in 14th place. This is great for us as you will see below the youth players have been getting. a lot of game time to develop them quicker.

We beat Huddersfield in a replay before being thumped by Spurs who were 4 nil up inside 15 minutes!

Player Watch - Peter Griffiths (YP21A)

image.thumb.png.b5ba7e77eec255fdbe38144c63350ed6.png

Griffiths (YP21A) is developing well and has had some good game time!

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.6250ef0f0f56a4efb94a729c2803761d.png

Really solid development here. Rodgers-Price is now our starting right back replacing Brayford. Brayford is by far the better player still but is getting on and we need to develop them. A lot of game time has been given and 3 players have over 20 CA development points already this season which is great!

Youth Intake - Part 1

This looks like a really good intake on paper. There seems to be wingers galore here and the full back that I really wanted doesn't seem to be as good as I had hoped for. I have signed all those I have tagged.

image.thumb.png.a2cff05a42bb73b1872a71c1f752c25d.png

Now lets have a look at PA vs PPA!

image.thumb.png.61563d1cc6ce3268fd35d8730255795a.png

So this is the youth intake sorted by PA. The major shifts here are Edge (YP22D) going from 4th to 8th and Cunningham (YP22B) going from 2nd all the way down to 7th. Duffy (YP22F) moves up 3 places to 3rd. The personalities are very mixed. I hope in time I can change those poor ones!

Youth Intake 2022 - Part 2 The Players

YP22A - Gregor Klein

image.thumb.png.fc1568bf9ba5c1ab37e3333debb43236.png

I love the look of Klein (YP22A). Great dribbling, technique and passing already and pretty good crossing as well. Work on some of his finishing and a bit more pace and we have a great winger!

YP22B - James Cunningham

image.thumb.png.cfaccf7307456ad31338dd8013252f9d.png

Cunningham (YP22B) is another good goalkeeper coming through the youth academy. Not as good as previously thought and we currently have 2 good goalkeepers in our first team squad. I think a loan might be best for him next season if possible!

YP22C - Stephen Gorman

image.thumb.png.bd8d0b563eef979af2c318f34d959789.png

Gorman (YP22C) is probably more suited to his winger role but with a shortage of strikers that is where he will be most utilised. He has decent finishing already. If we could work on a few of his mental stats then he might be pretty decent for us.

YP22D - Eilir Edge

image.thumb.png.eb63b1f6d719e78ff1bbdb3d9bee31ba.png

Edge (YP22D) is probably the most "raw" winger to come though yet. Good crossing and great pace and flair are the basics you need. If we could work on those mental stats as well as his passing he might be a great impact sub.

YP22E - Jay Thompson

image.thumb.png.da13063837cfe8418a5b02a480c571ba.png

Thompson (YP22E has really solid mental stats as well as good tackling. His passing really lets him down however and its a big must have for the formation I play. Will see how he develops.

YP22F - Gavin Duffy

image.thumb.png.5607287015ab5f894fef0b826b74a609.png

Duffy (YP22F) is probably the most rounded player apart from Clarke (YP20E) to come through our youth team. Mentally and technically very good for a player of his age. I am surprised his CA is actually as low as it is. He will be called up immediately to the first team.

YP22G - James King

image.thumb.png.baf87958af973b03a0c6f686f1357e76.png

King (YP22G) is another one of those nice to have defenders who covers the whole backline. Stats aren't great currently but has the potential to be a good squad player down the line

YP22H - Carl Bates

image.thumb.png.b2db60052be64829ba472ef861361944.png

Bates (YP22H) is another full back who covers both sides but isn't too close to first team currently so will let him develop in the youth team.

YP22I - Wes Ram

image.thumb.png.8d95b8b43ea0cad03f5a707ff157f8b1.png

Ram (YP22I) is another who will continue to develop in the youth team. Not the biggest potential but an area where we dont have too many players so could become a squad player.

End Of Season Review

Results

A pretty poor ending but we had survival pretty much in the bag by early April which meant I started using more and more youth. Scoring has been our big issue with Sarkic being our top scorer with 13 and next was our goalkeeper Rodriguez (YP20B) with 9! Strikers really struggled but I guess development time should help.

League Table

image.thumb.png.afe3f306b597c992e4b3453ddde74eaa.png

This was Burtons highest ever finish. Will take that and let the team develop further next season!

Player Review - Toby Rodgers-Price

image.thumb.png.02da26de522eecfaf8fd9b96e65077f5.png

Rodgers Price (YP21D) has come on leaps and bounds this season since I made him our number 1 right back. As you will see below he has jumped an incredible 35 CA points and whilst still not a great player for this level is developing into a much more solid full back.

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.ec8f2ab087e08d39eaca4a297639c3e5.png

I have added in the additional 4 who made their debuts post youth intake 2022. Some great development here and we managed to get rid of 1 bad personality as well. Both Rodgers-Price (YP21D) and Griffiths (YP21A) hit the 30 mark and over in terms of CA development and Fenlon (YP21C) just missed out on 29 points increase! All other players (apart from the new intake) where over double figures in CA development apart from Frank (YP20F) who is nearing his PA. I will do another squad review before next season to show you how they are currently looking!

Squad Review Part 1

Goalkeepers

Rodriguez (YP20B) is still our number 1 and I have now promoted Cunningham (YP22B) to be hot understudy!

Centre Backs

image.thumb.png.9a42eac017f116af7f09d9a347215042.pngimage.thumb.png.a0981e60f820ee0f75962cf23d6fa3ec.pngimage.thumb.png.eb7d4e54522344178374da327d696d62.png

We are still short here but have some young players who we can call up if need be. Fenlon (YP21C) and Frank (YP20F) will start and Wallace will be backup but that may change

Full Backs

image.thumb.png.b1db59406dc118a6cbc33d22a38361a5.pngimage.thumb.png.dfc1bd69d2af508b9d1a1350c618526d.pngimage.thumb.png.47a11d75022892e4248e292d7b5a3e03.png

Another area we are short in. Hutchinson and Rodgers-Price (YP21D) will be our starting 2 with Bates (YP22H) providing backup. Frank and Wallace can also help out!

Squad Review Part 2

Centre Midfielders

image.thumb.png.a37ba11dfe13ff8bb3c0bc4c3f1dace2.pngimage.thumb.png.19ee4d8cca0af5388305675adac02e77.pngimage.thumb.png.d599161930019ac92061a14dce875aac.pngimage.thumb.png.0deae9bdbae1f61de97e0fa6c6bd7bc3.pngimage.thumb.png.0a1595426cb5480f5a3cfd7dee3487fc.png

Still our most stacked position but I am trying to give the youngsters more and more game time. I am actively looking to sell Fox who is now in the u23's. Powell and 1 other will start for now. Griffiths (YP21A) and Duffy (YP22F) will most likely get the most game time beside him.

Wingers

image.thumb.png.565fbbf907e9b372e6f8397d4d1320ee.pngimage.thumb.png.1e39aaf2e06ce9616cc33d7cf50e6306.pngimage.thumb.png.8c4d2cd8e8cb8af692243408b5a9efb8.pngimage.thumb.png.5e8ca99a0771f157149bc110a6c33492.pngimage.thumb.png.466db836b05024da5aebc88f9caa76a4.png

Up to 5 wingers now for this season but Sarkic and Clarke (YP20E) are still the starters with Klein (YP22A) and Akins playing the backup. McCone (YP20A) will get game time where he can as well.

Strikers

image.thumb.png.f1f81f092d732f5b29caa1cc56143cfe.pngimage.thumb.png.4e6227336b0298c357976960339fc8c3.pngimage.thumb.png.9048653a990a7b8137b605c858ed84ee.pngimage.thumb.png.508431fe2479ea404af67edabc0d1c47.png

Giddings (YP20C) and Shelley (YP21B) will still be the starting 2 with Gorman (YP22C) being the main backup. I called up McLean from our u23 squad as well as a 4th choice.

image.thumb.png.d46ca14f9f84e401ce54e3b38478006b.png

Been the usual up and down season but again it is another season of development for this very young team!

League Table

image.thumb.png.1d0e1961c8631e4c773b06c65be631ac.png

We are miles above the relegation zone and sit comfortably just below mid table!

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.03beddbc9a9651b47747ed2ed18edf59.png

Another poor showing in this cup as League 1 Doncaster knock us out in the first round.

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.450517ef5b6d59489b978b9addc47e6c.png

A great win in the 3rd round of the FA Cup away at Sheffield Wednesday!

Player Review - Mason Shelley (YP21B)

image.thumb.png.edff2f896d019bea9d2ac9cb1bdb6e2b.png

Shelley (YP21B) is developing well but as with all our strikers outside of Giddings (YP20c) is struggling to get goals. Lets hope as he gets more experience the goals come!

Youth Watch

image.thumb.png.3f2ee4598a5e9206a8b66c68a840454b.png

More good development here with the Klein (YP22A) being the first to hit double figures for CA improvement. In terms of performances Giddings (YP20C)Clarke (YP20E) and Griffiths (YP21A) has been our standout performers all averaging above 7!

Do you play him out wide left? I'd, personally, be building a shape around him, either as a #10 or a free #8. He's a little raw mentally and maybe a little lightweight, for now, as a CM, but I think there is that little something about him that could really unlock a defence. Maybe that is my history with playing most of my games in continental Europe that I just love a playmaker!

I also really like him but I have a pet peeve about a) strikers with poor work rate - have you noticed a lot yet or does his role allow him to get away with it? and b) important players with really poor leadership skills - anything negative from that? considered a coaching course?

---

What is your mentoring set up looking like at the moment? One of the drawbacks, I find, with getting so many youngsters into the team quickly is that you're playing a lottery with personalities and team leaders!

You must be beating back offers for Rodriguez, no?  If so, who are the main suitors and how much are they coming in at???   Are any of your other youngsters receiving interest?

He signed a new contract which has a 22.5m release fee which seems to have scared any potential suitors off. Currently the only 2 players wanted in the team are Fenlon (YP21C) and Clarke (YP20E) who are both wanted by Newcastle. I have managed to lock down most of the youngsters down to long term deals with extension triggers. If we are not challenging in the next 2 or 3 seasons then I think we will be in trouble of losing a few of them.

Clarke (YP20E) does play out wide currently as an inverted winger. I think he is suited to more of a playmaker role and it is potentially something I will look into in the future. Currently I play with 2 deep lying Segundo volante's which I do think would suit him. Problem being currently that I am quite stacked in centre midfield currently whereas on the wing we dont really have too much quality outside of Clarke and Sarkic.

------------

Giddings (YP20C) struggled the first 2 seasons but this season he has really improved. I am currently doing some individual training on his endurance currently also to see if we can improve this.

------------

In terms of mentoring this is something I haven't looked into too much. The good thing about my first team is that I only have one "negative" personality in my first team currently and the overall squad is professional.

I will be honest and say I haven't looked at every player in your squad - but, if I was to take over at Burton in your save, I'd maybe explore a shape like this:

dafb8c87628acdcf7d085af78163ef52.png

I think that the runners from deep in the two SV (although I've never really used them so can't say for certain) combined with one/two IWB(d) which could be useful recycling for your CMs to partner two out and out wide players and you could maybe even shoe-horn Giddins in out wide left. I really like the attribute balance of Mason Shelley too and would probably start with him up top.

Things are looking good for you too - keep it up!

It isn't too far off what I am playing except I have a pressing forward rather than an AM.

4-2-2-2 basically. Our 2 centre backs are ball playing defenders and our full backs are complete wing backs and tend to get the most assists in our team each season. 2 Segundo volante's on support and then 2 inverted wingers on attack. I use one pressing forward and one advanced forward currently. I think the formation above is something I should look into in those harder away games as we tend to ship a lot of goals.

Youth Intake Superstar

This is a bit of a spoiler but I couldn't wait...

image.thumb.png.f617b16c5267146f3b1881520c9e59fa.png

Our first genuine superstar that has come through. This man is just as good as any player in our team already and has a ridiculous PA of 194!

Youth Intake 2023 - Part 1

image.thumb.png.8f32958a6f9a00894948b050357ce186.png

This looks like an amazing intake for us and one that could really potentially push us onto the next level. I am going to try and lock down the big potential guys to a long term deal now along with extension triggers. I have signed all those I have tagged. Now lets look at PA vs PPA...

image.thumb.png.e7c412ee9ca391363ad8e77aefa5967c.png

As you seen from the post from above we have a superstar on our hands in Cox (YP23D) as well as a number of other amazing first team potential players. Kamara (YP23G) moves all the way up 2nd place and looks like a great prospect. The first 5 will definitely be in our first team with the other 5 tagged potential squad players. This is an amazing intake for us.

What a gem - I only wish that he was 14 or 15 years old but that's a small gripe!  Your academy is clearly sufficiently well-developed and is now churning them out like a well-practiced production line!

Wow! What a player he looks! Get him on a long term deal before he's snapped up in the summer!

Youth Intake 2023 - Part 2 - The Players

YP23A - Adam Frecklington

image.thumb.png.29e7a2508467459cd96e016fd1a8a36d.png

We do seem to love a left winger! Frecklington (YP23A) is not quite first team ready as we already have 2 or 3 ahead of him so will let him develop in the youth team for a while!

YP23B - Alex Conroy

image.thumb.png.d2cbc6ebc6f43ed87391d475b5b4f586.png

I like the look of Conroy (YP23B) and its a position we dont have a great deal of cover in. Will probably call him up now means we have cover on both left and right hand side.

YP23C - Andrew Cooper

image.thumb.png.0c5f363ede1f8472c88ea18057310fd4.png

Cooper (YP23C) is another really solid player. I am more inclined to say he's a winger than a striker in the system I use. He has good crossing and acceleration as well as technique. Going to call him up as I have loaned Gorman (YP22C) out for the 2nd half of the season.

YP23D - Steve Cox

image.thumb.png.8a902ab8af3f49da979d15b73cb9e30b.png

Our superstar! Cox (YP23D) is one of the best players at the club already with ridiculous potential. Trying to lock him down long term now so at least we can get a few years out of him before more than likely having to sell. His stats are pretty much all round perfect. Will work on the finishing but he will be an immediate starter.

YP23E - Jamie Ellis

image.thumb.png.3fd4b83691ad52e37508f4cfe05a6150.png

Ellis (YP23E) is more a right midfielder for me than an attacking mid. We have a lot of wingers currently but most actually play on the left so he could come in handy!

YP23F - Tony Thompson

image.thumb.png.c4c20e3a565da76673fdbea088271287.png

This is an area we need players and we got 2 in! Thompson (YP23F) already has solid stats and we can work on his aerial ability and strength a bit. Will be immediately into the first team squad.

YP23G - Mohamed Kamara

image.thumb.png.7a4ed6058c4e19d8de187f20d7045b3c.png

Our 2nd centre half! Kamara (YP23G) looks like a beast! Hopefully work on some of his mental stats and a bit more pace but he will be immediately up into the first team squad and getting game time!

YP23H - Harry Clements

image.thumb.png.68ad739a477f651ef0bc365af02a979c.png

Left winger #428. Clements (YP23H) is another solid left winger but will be developing in the youth squad for a bit longer.

YP23I - Declan Smith

image.thumb.png.f55ece83752da6996b46b41e3a58c8aa.png

Smith (YP23J) is probably our 5th choice striker now. He will develop in the youth squad as well and can be called up in a injury/suspension crisis.

YP23J - Mark Walmsley

image.thumb.png.127bb6dadfa947966fc82fd816940444.png

I originally wasn't going to sign Walmsley (YP23J) but he has some potential and could be a squad player in the future or very least we can make some profit on him.

Yes the youth academy is definitely paying dividends now. We have training, youth facilities and junior coaching all sitting now at 20 with youth recruitment up to 13 now.
