Lower Leagues are Funny

Recommended Posts

My club won promotion from the 4th tier of Scotland to the 3rd tier. Our first season at the new level our season ticket sales went from 120 to 137. A massive increase of 17!

The news report said, “The season ticket sales soared from last season.” Hahaha.

And FM’s “last minute goal” script is getting out of hand. We lead 3-2 at the end of regulation time. There were supposed to be 6 minutes of added time, but the other team scored at 97.32 to draw. FM needed the extra minute and a half to successfully execute the script.

About half the goals scored against us are in the last minute of the first half or in the last minute of the match (obviously we don’t allow many goals). Nothing suspicious about that. Hahahaha.

The game is programmed to be easy but I guess the programmers try to keep us from being undefeated every season by putting in stuff like the last minute goals.

Have you tried doing anything at the end of each half to prevent this “scripted” behaviour? Maybe the opposition team are doing something to cause this. Perhaps you could do something so that the “script” works in your favour instead?

Agree with this. The opposition are losing so they only have injury time to get an equaliser. They are going to throw everything at you to get one. You have to shut that down and see the game out. Depending on how the opponent is playing, and set up, depends on how you need to focus on shutting up shop.

That said, a common misconception is going as defensive as possible is the best way. But consider this; if you just camp in your own box and boot the ball back to the other team, they are going to come at you for the entire amount of time left. Consider ways to kill the game without retreating towards your goal too much and how to try and keep the ball to run down the clock without taking any risks.
