HutchyNE
Picture this, you're 2 and a half years into your (insert random mid table club here) save and so far you have taken them to a 7th placed finish last year and are now challenging for the europa league spots going into the January transfer window. Your main competitor for these spots, Manchester City, having just sacked Pep Guardiola after an abysmal start to the season by their standards they are scouting the market for someone who can come in and steer the ship till the end of the season to ensure champions league football and a decent cup run. On a whim, you apply, thinking 'why not'. Three days later you get a reply and you have an interview, you think to yourself, 'no chance' and you attend the interview. Four days later you're offered a contract, 6-month deal with a team option of extending for 2 years based on results, for example, securing a top four place, getting to the Champions League Quarter-Final and a run into the FA Cup Semi-Final. But nothing was guaranteed, at the end of the season the club would once again look for a new manager as the yearly manager merry-go-round starts again. This gives you the chance to have your go at managing a top club and put yourself on the market after a few good seasons at a lesser known club and I think this would reward players more for doing well at a smaller club, think of it similar to the Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer situation, where he was brought in on a short term contract to try and help United rejuvenate their squad until they could find a better manager to do to the job permanently, but as we know OGS overachieved and kept his job long term
