Jimbokav1971 Posted November 10, 2020 Share Posted November 10, 2020 I was going to holiday for a season and take over a newly created club, but 1 of the newly promoted teams seems right up my street so thought I would just jump right in. They were only founded in 2018 and it seems rude not to give them a go. They have obviously never played at this level before. The facilities are actually surprisingly decent for this level. We also have a parent club. Usually I would shy away from anything like this, but I think I'm going to completely embrace the DoF right from the off here and let him do what he wants, (although I will retain the right of veto). I'm not sure how much I'm going to control, but probably more than this, (which I did just for the achievement). We have millions of players, (62 to be precise), and we have a B Team as well as an U19 squad. In fact we have more than a whole page of 5.0 PA players, (which is brilliant and not what I was expecting. Strangely we also have a 5.0 CA player who is only 20 years old. I'm not really sure if he's any good or not. I guess we will see. It appears as if he has just joined us, on a free from OB, (our parent club). As is stands, no Swedes will dare cross the bridge with Saga. Not for this s***show anyway..... Media snubbed, staff sacked and the only Swede willing to join comes in as a coach. We're playing quite well and XG is looking decent, but we're just not finishing. Our condition seemed to be poor to start with, but we might have just found our feet. We're doing quite well so far, (at least I thought we were). We're 5th of 14 in Group 1, but I'm looking at the colour-coding and wondering what happens above and below the line....... Jimbokav1971 Posted November 11, 2020 Share Posted November 11, 2020 Winter break. Summary. After a poor start we have done ok and are well positioned to avoid relegation. We seemed to have clicked a little and I'm getting better at being aware of my own players weaknesses, (ie. short centre-backs). We've only scored 2 goals from corners. I don't think we have conceded any goals from corners. Our GK Mo has converted 3/4 penalties at 75%. Mo has come close with a couple of free-kicks but none scored so far. No red cards for us but 1 for the opposition. We're rubbish at 1 on 1's. The match engine looks great. Much more realistic. I've asked to improve both Junior Coaching and Youth Recruitment despite the fact that we have no money, and the board have told me they will get back to me with a response. We're predicted to finish 23rd of 28, which equates to 12th when we separate into 2 groups. It was colder than usual in August here and I wasn't prepared for it. Here in Denmark, after that mess in Citudad Juarez. You'd think I would have tried South America, but no. I had to get the first flight out of Mexico and I figured Sweden was a good idea. Hot-tubs, Swedish girls. Oh yeah. When I came to, on the pavement, I had a note from the cabbie which said that I'd drunkenly slurred 'Copenhagen' at him, then I'd never mentioned a stop, so he'd carried on past Copenhagen and when he'd rifled my pockets, found I only had Swedish krona on me, he took it all, and dumped me here. Oh, and he said have a good time. Nice people, the Swedes.. Denmark.. I only knew this place from pictures. My family was sent from Mexico in 1920 to Denmark by my great-uncle and we ended up staying there until my parents went back in 1976. I was sat on a seat in what looked like the most beautiful railway station in the world. Well, in my experience. When you've experienced Juarez, any station that isn't a ********, is nice. Looking over to the left, I saw a plaque. "Oldest Railway Station in Denmark, eh?" I thought. Well, that's nice for it. A old man sat next to me. Next to me! In these times! I shuddered and tried to inch over more to my side. It didn't work. He wrinkled his nose and called for the police. Or gave me directions to a shower. I don't know, I don't speak Danish. I smiled and tried to look big. Must work on humans as well as animals as he left a card and got up to walk away. "KFUM" I thought? This was odd. What was it? Whatever. Loaded the beta and had a look around, and I'm definitely happy with my choice of starting team Skovshoved. League looks tough with 7th placed and lower going down, so a top 6 finish is a must! I've probably brought in around 50 players due to our amateur status and us not losing any money if they don't play. It was a very carefully thoughtout and scentific approach....The name is literally 3 letters...so much easier to write for these updates (as long as I avoid their Sunday name). I then decided to name my manager Smoochison Boochison, something I really have to think about everytime I type it....I'm not a smart man. I felt the overcoat was needed. I've not heard warm things about Denmark. I picked blue because it looks nice...our away kit is red. Oops! Team doesn't look to bad, but as Makoto mentioned in his post you can sign anybody at this level. Anybody who has seen one of my older journeyman saves you know I like to raid villages and steal as many people as possible. Luckily Denmark is very used to this so I won't stand out much. The objective this season? Frigging survive the hell! EDIT: After doing my usual tactic of looking at Media Dream XI and trying to steal as many as possible I've been promptly reminded I've turned transfers off the first window.....time for a reload me thinks! karanhsingh Posted November 11, 2020 Share Posted November 11, 2020 Here we go: Adiniyi was my favorite & probably best new-gen from FM20, so he gets the honour of being the main man for this save. In an alternate FM20 universe, he was leading scorer for Nigeria as they won the 2026 WC, and also won the Ligue 1 for me at Marseille. In this universe however, he was a promising young player who ended up playing at a semi-professional level and now takes his first steps into management. His starting profile: About the club: I love the logo and the colours, besides we also have a decently sized stadium for this level. The facilities though leave a lot to be desired. The media projects us to finish 6th or thereabouts, promotion looks like it'll be a challenge but hopefully we can get a top 6 finish. These guys will likely be the key players for us. Gotta love a good targetman, the fact that he is two-footed makes it even better. His presence in the team has convinced me to go with a direct 4-4-2 formation. Kirk will be the deep lying playmaker, holding fort in midfield. He is attracting a bit of interest so hopefully we can hold onto him. Mikkelsen hopefully will provide some creativity from the flanks. Along with being a key player he is also our assistant manager, all the while getting paid zero pounds per week. He does have a 5% wage increase clause though First game went pretty well, we got the 3 points although it should have been more comfortable. I have about 20 players on trial at the club, now need to decide who stays and who goes. Note - I chose the earliest start date for Denmark (I think), which for some reason started off one week before the window shuts and after all the friendlies. We're Semi-Pro so I can sign players to Semi-Pro contracts, but I don't really want to start dishing put cash contracts until I see what level of youth player we're going to produce. I wondered at the time what that meant and think it suggests that it might be playable. Looking forward to finding out. If it is playable then I wonder if I might want to start even lower! The Manager Emil Heskej will be concentrating on youth development and hopefully getting some badges!
