Paul Thomson still beasting against the opponent's defenses and Gerard Fox provides fantastic saves whenever it's needed. Rangers are still on another level but at least we manage to keep it competitive. Hibernian played fantastic in February and they moved past us in league table. Should be easier than Angers.. right? In league we played bottom teams and with an exception of St. Mirren we were one hundred percent there. Can we get all-time highest position by the end of the season? I'd rather play someone else Youth in-take And again so many unambitious players! At this point I really do not understand that. At least Tom Campbell looks pretty good. scarp Posted July 9, 2021 Author Share Posted July 9, 2021 April 2043 To start the month we went to neutral ground to face Aberdeen in Scottish Cup Semifinals. We beat them handily and for the first time even we reached Scottish Cup finals where we will face Rangers. In Conference we somehow managed to overcome Celtic on away goals as James Miller scored a fantastic volley in 53rd minute. In league we managed to beat both Hibernian & Celtic but Aberdeen was just all around better and deserved the win. In Europa Conference semifinals we face Espanyol and we only managed a goalless draw at home - meaning we probably wont be able to reach finals. In Conference semifinals we beat Espanyol after tough game, even though their player got red card in 11th minute, they managed to defend very well up until the very last minute where Ethan Rae scored and sent us to the finals! Even thouugh Rangers were the better team majority of the game, fantastic saves by Gerard Fox helped us defend the goalless draw and then Cunningham scored from right win in 90th minute! Somehow we managed our best ever finish in Scottish Premiership as well as not only one cup win but two - Scottish Cup and Europa Conference are ours! What an achievement for Brora and it all could happen on our new stadium that I am super proud of. Next season we will play in Champions Cup which I look forward very much. Our best players are still the same - Gerard Fox has already 70 appearances for Northern Ireland while he's still only 25. Paul Thomson and James Miller together scored 88 goals this season which is absolutely nuts and they still have not received a call into Scottish National Team. Paul Thomson who scored 50+ goals last season for us waited 7 games before scoring a first goal this season. Our Champions League path ended very swiftly as Feyenoord was just a better team. That's a very tough group in my opinion. Will be very hard to get through. Happy for this but on the other hand board rejected youth facilities upgrade New HOYD Very happy with this signing. Our form drops towards the end of the month when we first lose to Rangers in league and later on lose to Hibernian in Betfred Cup semifinals. Get in! After we beat Rangers at home I was still pretty sure they will clinch the title, when we played against Dundee they only drew against Aberdeen which meant if we beat Celtic we gonna win the title! We were playing around top three for the entire season but in my wildest dreams I did not imagine us actually lifting the trophy. What really helps us is that Celtic got substantially worse so all we have to do is fight Rangers, although Aberdeen had a great season aswell. Almost no changes to our team from last season as we are still getting carried by the Fox - Thomson - Miller trifecta supported with Mike Fyffe who scored 17 goals from CB and Sean Wilson who broke the record with 21 assists. This time we did not do that well in Cups but it does not matter. In Europa League we played fantastic in group stage and only lost to Tottenham in quarterfinals. First place in league also means we go straight into CL groups so we gonna get insane cash out of this! I honestly do not think we can repeat this and win the title again next season but lets see how it goes. We beat CSKA in CL which gives us a chance for third position in our group. I am starting to look for different tactic as we have so many great CM players and not many useful wingers. After two scrappy wins in league we went to play PSG and even though we were down 4-0 and 5-1, we managed to score three more goals and showed the fans a great spectacle. Going into the Villarreal games just one day after losing to Celtic I did not give us any chance but after Miller masterclass we managed to beat them 6-1. In domestic league we continued with decent form and find ourselves 2nd - although Celtic are getting back on track. I knew last year was a fluke and that we will not repeat the title but I am happy how it went overall. In Europe we did well and once more got beaten by Spurs. We managed to again upgrade our facilities and bring in fantastic model citizen assistant manager in Joao Moutinho. Regarding team it's mostly the same with an exception of Gibb and Campbell making it into starting eleven. As our key players remain the same I will show the new generation of youngsters that I feel will help us progress even further very soon. Even though we lost to Celtic we are first with 7 points up since all our rivals seem to be dropping points left and right. Against Leicester it was a very close game but we won thanks to Miller's header. In the rematch we were down 1-0 and 3-1 but Miller sent us to next round with another header and we were awarded with way easier opponent. Now lets not underestimate them...
