Northernpilgrim
I got the job This is the squad I've inherited. To say it needs surgery is an understatement and the league table on my arrival, with the league title being the board's demand
Northernpilgrim
An unbeaten start to life in Italy, but two disappointing draws We have moved up to 13th, but 4 dropped points could have seen us as high as 9th
Northernpilgrim
Unbeaten, and one match from perfect in November and although we are in a playoff place, with the two dropped points, we'd be 7th. As it is, we're 9th.
Northernpilgrim
We go into the winter break with just 1 win in our 3 games in December and that leaves us 10th, clinging to the last playoff place. Nowhere near good enough. There will be significant departures before the end of January. Some off these players are stealing a living

Northernpilgrim
No wins in January after the winter break and we fall out of the playoffs. If I don't turn this around soon, I won't survive the season
Northernpilgrim
The rebuild has begun as we signed Stramaccioni Straudi Tomko Ntube Angileri Ghilardi and Buon
Northernpilgrim
Our decline can be at least partly excused by an injury to our main striker, picked up in training on 28th December
Northernpilgrim
With my job status less than secure, I needed a good month in February. A slight tactical tweak, and I got one, including an away victory at the runaway leaders and that saw us move back into a playoff spot. No room for error, but if we can hold on for the next 9 games, hopefully I'll get the chance to be here next season
Northernpilgrim
Not a fantastic set of results in March (on paper at least) but we got utterly FM'd in the Savoia game, missed a penalty, and had a goal really questionably chalked off which leaves the table looking like this. The board called me in after the Paganese game, and set me a target of 11 points from the last 5 games of the season. My only target is to survive the season now
Northernpilgrim
10 points from our final 5 matches and we end the regular season 7th, and qualify for the playoffs
Northernpilgrim
We made it as far as the third round of the playoffs, but a home defeat proved too much to overcome in the second leg

Northernpilgrim
I got the QPR job and this is the squad I've inherited. Too big, but plenty of quality to achieve the required top half finish. I'll try and shift a few players out either permanently or on loan, and maybe bring in a quality striker to get some goals

Northernpilgrim
Seven players were signed, three sold for a fee, and loads of others given free transfers or loaned out Josh Earl will be second choice left back Marc Jurado will be first choice right back Nohan Kenneh will be a first choice defensive midfielder, but can also fill in at centre back too Yago Santiago will be a first choice centre midfielder Stephy Mavididi was the quality striker I was after Morgan Sanson is a central midfielder as is Juninho Bacuna, who will be first choice for one of the two positions and this is the squad for my first season at QPR. Top half is a necessity, but I'd like us to push for a playoff spot
Northernpilgrim
A reasonable, but not spectacular, start to the season but how did we lose to Luton? or Colchester and that left us just outside the playoffs
Northernpilgrim
September was one match from perfect, and absolutely no complaints about the Crystal Palace result, we were definitely second best and that left us in a playoff position. Far too early to talk about staying there, but a solid platform for a decent season is definitely being constructed. Surprised to see Luton up there with us, and the likes of Cardiff struggling
Northernpilgrim
Four wins out of four in a perfect October and that saw us climb to second in the table. Very pleasing indeed at this stage, with a third of the season gone.

Northernpilgrim
One match from perfect in November and if we had kept 11 men on the pitch, we'd surely have beaten Ipswich too Those two dropped points are all that kept us off the top of the table, as we trail leaders West Ham only on goal difference

Northernpilgrim
One match from perfect in January, and our only defeat was in the FA Cup to Liverpool and that left us 7 points clear at the top, 16 games to go

Northernpilgrim
February was a decent, not spectacular month We didn't deserve anything against Crystal Palace, but we should have had more against Bristol City and Rotherham but we do end the month 8 points clear at the top

Northernpilgrim
On the final day of the season, we travel to relegation-threatened Preston. Peterborough are at home to Cardiff. Swansea are mathematically still involved, but realistically, they are safe and it's a two horse race for a seat on the Championship lifeboat. The only other issue outstanding is whether Bristol City or Stoke face West Brom. Whichever doesn't face West Brom will play Crystal Palace.
