Northernpilgrim
I'm back! This is the squad I have inherited. Loads of quality, but we need a couple of strikers, and a better backup keeper
Northernpilgrim
Preseason was arranged before I arrived, and we managed a good set of results
Northernpilgrim
I managed the three signings I wanted. Toon Verelst was sold before I arrived, which was disappointing as he looks a quality player Ahmed joins from my old club and is a top level striker Guarnera will fight him for the striker role, and will ultimately replace him in the team and Reviglio comes in as goalkeeper. With two of the best goalkeepers in the world in my squad, I'm pretty much going to alternate them, as neither deserves to be a number 2. Leonardo has 57 Brazil caps, Reviglio 75 for Italy
Northernpilgrim
Our squad depth is now really healthy, although a second left back would make things more comfortable. There is room in the wage and transfer budget to address this in January
Northernpilgrim
Almost the perfect start to the season and we have already won our first trophy, but missed out on the UEFA Super Cup We are the early Bundesliga leaders
Northernpilgrim
One game from perfect in September. I'm not disappointed with a draw away to Dortmund, and we got our Champions League campaign off to the perfect start by thrashing Juventus which leaves us top of the Bundesliga, 4 points clear and top of our Champions League group too, after Valencia were surprisingly held by Kobenhavn
Northernpilgrim
Perfect in October Leaving us 7 points clear in the Bundesliga after only 10 games and almost assured progress in the Champions League, with 3 games to play
Northernpilgrim
Almost perfect in November and we were very unlucky in defeat to Valencia We are 9 points clear, and still unbeaten, in the Bundesliga and assured top spot in the Champions League before we play Kobenhavn. Valencia have home advantage in the death match with Juventus Edited March 20, 2021 by Northernpilgrim
Northernpilgrim
December was one match from perfect, a frustrating 0-0 draw at Eintracht Braunschweig a match we totally dominated, but couldn't find a way past their keeper, who got man of the match and an 8.9, including a penalty save (our fifth missed pen of the season already) We're 15 points clear, but Dortmund have a game in hand We won our Champions League group, and Valencia beat Juventus in the death match to condemn them to Europa League football after Christmas
Northernpilgrim
We enjoyed a perfect January after the winter break and we remain 15 points clear at the top, a home game with Dortmund up next
Northernpilgrim
One signing, lots of departures since the last transfer update as Jan Wolf comes in to provide backup at left back. I've included his Bayer Leverkusen stats for this season, as they show him to be a better player than the 2.5* that my Assistant gives him. My scouts rated him at 3* before he signed
Northernpilgrim
One match from perfect again in February and our lead at the top stands at 20 points
Northernpilgrim
Probably our worst month of the season, as we dropped points in 2 matches, but we remain unbeaten, despite being down to 10 men against Borussia Mönchengladbach which leaves us 21 points clear, with 21 left to play for. We have to lose every game now to even have a mathematical possibility of not being champions
Northernpilgrim
Not sure what the hell happened in April, but we suddenly forgot how to defend, and it's cost us a place in the German Cup Final, and an unbeaten league season I took the rare step of subbing my keeper at half time against Schalke, but that only served to make matters worse and despite beating Stuttgart in the league just 3 days earlier, they knocked us out of the cup but we are confirmed champions, lifting the trophy after beating 1. FC Köln We're 23 points clear, with 3 games to go. It'd be harsh to call the season a failure, but the end is certainly becoming a warning that we need to guard against complacency
Northernpilgrim
An unbeaten final month of the league season, and we've got a Champions League final to look forward to next month as we end the Bundesliga season 25 points clear, having been beaten just once, albeit a 7-3 mauling
Northernpilgrim
Never. In. Doubt Champions League trophy lifted for the first time in my career. I'm going to need several more over the next 9 seasons to achieve the goal of topping the World Hall of Fame
Northernpilgrim
Season review time, and a treble winning season (of sorts) Of the new arrivals, only Wolf failed to shine Results were generally great, but that Schalke defeat... Getting your goal of the season in a 15 goal demolition of a 4th tier team seems a bit of a waste I'm a little surprised that Mkhwanazi topped the shirt sales. I'd have expected Guarnera or Ahmed to do it Not much argument with our Team of the Year, although I wouldn't have had Sweeney in there So many awards, they don't all fit on. and that's it, my debut season in Germany is over.
Northernpilgrim
A mixed bag in preseason, with the Club World Cup, which we were expected to win, proving a disaster, but then a perfect set of friendly results
Northernpilgrim
Three players have been signed over the summer 24 year old centre back Owusu Joining him at the back is 23 year old Mark Oosting and finally, 22 year old left back, Omar
Northernpilgrim
This is the squad we take into the new season. There are barely any weaknesses in the squad now
Northernpilgrim
A near perfect start to the season, the only match we didn't win in August was a friendly We won the German Supercup and the UEFA Supercup too and sit top of the Bundesliga on goal difference from Dortmund
Northernpilgrim
No more arrivals before the transfer window closed, but four more departures, including Jan Wolf, who I only signed 8 months ago. At worst he cost me £250k, at best, a profit of almost £5m
Northernpilgrim
Unbeaten, but nowhere near perfect, in September and whilst Stuttgart absolutely deserved a draw in a dead even game, Wolfsburg stole a point Those dropped points see us drop to second in the Bundesliga but we're on track in Europe, and travel to Utrecht next
Guest
Where in the hall of fame are you now? surely top by now

Northernpilgrim
One match from perfect in October but we really should have beaten Monaco We are top of the league though and in good shape in the Champions League
Northernpilgrim
November looks awful but we were the equal of Monaco, and should have drawn absolutely battered Leipzig, to no avail and were comfortably the better side at Augsburg too Somehow we're 4 points clear and through in the Champions League, knocking Man City out
Northernpilgrim
A perfect December to take us into the winter break and we go into the new year 8 points clear Qualifying as runners up to Monaco in our Champions League group
Northernpilgrim
Perfect after the winter break in January too and our lead at the top is now 12 points, 15 games to go
Northernpilgrim
No signings, 2 departures since August
Northernpilgrim
Not a bad February, but we've left it all to do at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League although we are now 12 points clear with 11 games to play in the league
Northernpilgrim
Four very good prospects in this year's Youth Intake
Northernpilgrim
Perfect March in the league, but we're out of the German Cup and Champions League and we're 18 points clear, but have played a game more than our nearest rivals
Northernpilgrim
We lost our opening match of April to Dortmund, but responded by winning the next three without conceding a goal securing the title against Nürnberg and we are 20 points clear, 3 games to go
Northernpilgrim
A perfect end to the season which sees us end the season 22 points clear
Northernpilgrim
Time for the season review Three arrivals, and they all performed really well What an end to the season. Only 3 points dropped between February and May We scored plenty of goals again but an early Champions League exit has hit finances Here's our Team of the Year Too many award winners to fit on one screen again and confirmation that we won three trophies this season
Northernpilgrim
We went through preseason unbeaten, scoring plenty of goals
Northernpilgrim
Just one player released at the end of their contract
Northernpilgrim
Two signings before the start of the season, with one more being negotiated, but lots of departures, mostly loans Esslinger is a right winger, but sadly he has broken his leg in preseason, and won't play before the Christmas break Abdullayev is a striker, who will normally be a backup. We now have three strikers, and they've all picked up injuries, but luckily none serious. They'll all miss the Supercup and German Cup First round, but should all be available for our opening league game
Northernpilgrim
And this is how our squad depth looks, with one player, a centre midfielder, to come in
Northernpilgrim
A perfect start to the new season another trophy won in the shape of the Supercup and we're top of the league
Northernpilgrim
There were no more departures, but we did make one more addition to the squad as we signed Brazilian international midfielder Rennan
Northernpilgrim
One match from perfect in September and I feel a little unlucky against Borussia Mönchengladbach which leaves us top of the table, 1 point clear of Stuttgart and Dortmund and top of our Champions League group
Northernpilgrim
One match from perfect in October and that leaves us 2 points clear at the top of the league and top of our Champions League group, qualification almost assured
Northernpilgrim
A perfect November but we very nearly blew a 4-0 lead against Monaco and trailed twice at Hoffenheim That leaves us 7 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and guaranteed top spot in our Champions League group with a game to spare
Northernpilgrim
One match from perfect in December and we were 3-1 up in Porto with 90 minutes gone Our lead at the top is now 10 points, halfway through the season and we finished top in our Champions League group
Northernpilgrim
In January, we completed a move to a new stadium. This had been announced before my arrival, I only found out about it when a journalist asked me if I was excited about the move
Northernpilgrim
Not perfect on our return after the winter break, as we got turned over by nearest challengers Dortmund. We've yet to play in our new stadium, as we only moved in on the day of the Mainz game but we are now 13 points clear, as previous nearest rivals Stuttgart have had something of a wobble

Northernpilgrim
Six wins out of seven in February, with a narrow Champions League first leg defeat the only blot on our record and we're 16 points clear, 10 games to go
