REMNZ
Telling individual players to "Take more risks" with passing is the best way. Preferred move "likes playing killer balls" also good. If you want long through balls it can be good to designate someone as a "Quarterback" by giving them combined "Take More Risks" and "More Direct" in passing instructions. Should be used sparingly though if you like possession.

Yes it does but if your players lack decision, vision, balance, passing, you risk losing possession. Hence, letting your creative player take more risks is usually a safer way to do this. Elitee
I always thought Pass into Space meant instead of passing to a players feet, they pass in front of them. Not necessarily a though ball all the time, just into open space. Doesn't mean however it's a good idea because the opposition might get to it first. Some things like you have the ball with a midfielder, you have a LB on the left flank wide open. Pass into space would encourage the ball to go out to that player rather than play a simple short pass to another midfielder. I could be wrong, just how I have viewed it.
Experienced Defender
On 08/12/2020 at 23:33, radgrandma said: Does pass into space tell players to play more through balls. Pass into space involves through balls (risky passes) but is not only about them. The instruction basically encourages players to pass the ball into space in front of a teammate (a bit) more than they otherwise would, but it does not mean that every single pass will be played into space. A pass into space can be played by a CB to a FB/WB for example, so it's not necessarily a defense-splitting killer pass to a forward running past the opposition defense.
