Results

League

Only 2 games for us this month. Bitterly disappointed with result against Ayr, even with some heavy rotations, we were not able to fully capitalise on Celtic losing to Motherwell. Still in a decent enough position and we have Celtic to play soon.

Betfred Cup

Good result against St Johnstone with another heavily rotated team. Next up is a semi final against rivals, and relegated, Hibs. Celtic out of the competition and the other semi is Rangers v Aberdeen.

UEFA Champions League

Very, very happy with the first half of the group stage. The score against Bilbao does not tell the whole story. We fought well and created lots of chances. The result against Dortmund came as a complete surprise, we 1-0 down at half-time so the bottle I threw must have worked. Shaky end to the gave against Zagreb, we were 3-0 and they brought it back and could have equalised if it was not for VAR!

Shoving October and November together as we only have 1 game at the start of November due to the world cup.

League

A perfect month for us sees us go 9 points clear at top and 11 clear of Motherwell. I am delighted with this months results, there was some seriously rotation involved in all league game except Celtic because of how many games we were playing. Our cause was helped along the was by Celtic going on a 4 game win less month after playing us!

UEFA Champions League

Buzzing at this. We will be playing in the first knockout round of the Champions League! We should have hammered Zagreb but we were maybe a little fortunate to come away with a draw against Bilbao and Dortmund only beat us by an own goal! Looking forward to the draw!

MOTM

December 2022/January 2023

Putting these two together since there is only 2 games in December however look at the congestion due to the World Cup, 11 games in 34 days.

Results

League

A good run in the league with wins over Rangers and Celtic. Still conceding a fair amount of goals but we are also tucking away a lot of our chances. Pleasing to see us with a cushion of 8 points and 2 games in hand. Board expectations have been updated from qualify to UEL to challenge for title.

Betfred Cup

A comfortable semi final win against city rivals Hibs seen us through to the final where we met Rangers. We scored very early on and we never looked back. Raced in to a 3 goal before half time and had chances to open the gap further before a penalty conceded midway through the second half handed Rangers a small lifeline however we were professional and held on for comfortable 3-1 win and our second Betfred cup win in 3 seasons.

Young Player of the Month January 2023

Absolutely delighted with Aidan Denholms performances this month. Promoted this season from our Youth Academy, I thought I would give him a run of games due to playing so many fixtures and he has delivered. Hopefully he continue his good form into another busy month and will develop even further. Potential starting striker in a few seasons, if not next.

February 2023

Another super busy month with lots of league games, potentially 2 Scottish Cup games and the first leg of the Champions League First Knockout Round.
