Joor
I seen a lot of post and complains about the players shooting to much from distance, but is this true ? If we look at real life stats its actually realistic. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/gamecast?id=251362&cc=5739&league=ITA.1 Milan resent game vs torino and 9 out of 16 shots was from distance. Or Napoli vs Cagliari http://soccernet.espn.go.com/gamecast?id=251359&cc=5739&league=ITA.
LeoVieira
I'm not having this long shots problem, and when i look at AI vs AI goals they're usually from inside the penalty box too. I do reckon that sometimes strikers prefer to shoot from longe range rather than carrying the ball foward, but that's very rare, it used to happen even more in FM08 to me. And i also think that the number of shots are unrealistically low on FM09. It's usally 15-20 shots (including blocked shots) per match.
PGB_SPURS_FM09
The tactics work slightly different and you need to work out how to get the chances to your strikers. I have managed to do it now (its not something you instantly achieve - needs practice!). Last match me + opponent(AI) had 16 shots each! Thats quite a few! Nomis07
Is the issue people have, too many long shots or too many good long shots?

PGB_SPURS_FM09
Thats quite a lot still 7-10 shots each.
stephen_nufc
its not the number of long shots its the number of long shots that go in
Nomis07
its not the number of long shots its the number of long shots that go in That's what I was hinting at earlier on. Having a realistic amount of long shots is pointless if an unrealistic amount are being scored.
PGB_SPURS_FM09
15-20 shots per match, not per team. So that's 7-10 shots per team. Last weekends fixtures in EPL(total shots on goal for each team): Wigan Athletic 6 Everton 1 Sunderland 2 West Ham United 1 Tottenham Hotspur 3 Blackburn Rovers 2 Aston Villa 4 Manchester United 2 Stoke City 7 West Bromwich Albion 1 Portsmouth 4 Hull City 5 Middlesbrough 6 Bolton Wanderers 5 Manchester City 7 Arsenal 4 Liverpool 6 Fulham 5 Chelsea 9 Newcastle United 0 Taken from setanta sports results page. I am guessing total shots on goal = all shots. There was no stat for Shots on target.
Joor
its not the number of long shots its the number of long shots that go in Thats be course some goalkeeper are really bad The majority of all keeper in fm09 have average or poor mental attributes(no idea why the researcher done this?). Concentration is the main problem I think - not a lot of GK's have 15 or more in this.. if the keeper loose focus several times during a game , longshots will be a big problem for hes team . PGB_SPURS_FM09
Even if it is shots on target. the amount is still quite low apart from chelsea match and ofc the top 4 teams didn't play amazingly so the shots on target is definitely right on FM09. Compared to 08 anyway
