Help with MLS salary cap

I know there are a few dedicated MLS players on here, so if I could get some help with the salary cap in FM, i’d appreciate it. I’ve started two saves, one with Atlanta the other with Cincinnati, and in each i’ve struggled to stay under the cap come registration time. I gave up in both saves because, come registration time, I am far over the cap just trying to field a competent starting XI. Worse still, I am struggling to find players to bring in as most MLS sides demand I make trades for their players and most foreign salaries put me over the cap! 

 

Anyway, if anyone has a nice little guide or maybe could give me some advice (especially squad building) for MLS, I would really appreciate it.
