I started my current save when the full release of FM21 came out, with the intention to be doing a kind of Journeyman save, but wanting to try and manage/win in other leagues across Europe. I've just come to the end of the 27/28 season and finally won the Premier League for the first time. So, started casting my eyes over other leagues to see if there's any spicy jobs going. And bugger me, nobodies moved. Like, nearly at all. As an example, here's the Spanish League; Arguably the only teams I'm looking at are the kind of top three. Athletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Barcelona (I've done the whole long term project with Southampton and winning the Prem, I just kinda want easier challenges in the rest of Europe before we get nothing but regens). And all of those teams have kept the same managers from the start point of the game. Ronald Koeman to be fair deserves his job. Barcelona have won La Liga every year that this save game has been going. But Zidane and Simeone are somehow keeping their jobs, despite being relatively terrible (comparative to the team they're managing). Case in point, here's Simeone's "milestones"; Dude has literally won nothing in this save of mine. Not a single thing. I mean... are Athleti happy to just be a top four team? Granted, it's what they've achieved every year I've played, but still. Then Zidane himself; Yeah, he's won a fair bit. But nothing since 2026. And he's constantly finished second to Barcelona in the league; Surely at some point the owners of Real Madrid would find this unacceptable? Anyone else encountered this, or is it just me? Is it 'cos I've been playing on the same save since the full release? I think I'm right in saying that initially in FM21 saves teams are reluctant to do much of any business 'cos of the games version of COVID type stuff, but still. I'm many, many years down the line now and there's a distinct lack of top team jobs that some to become available. I mean, Klopp's only just been sacked now for finishing 3rd in the last season. He's won 5 of the others I've played through, but the Liverpool board found it unacceptable that he didn't get at least 2nd place. But Real Madrid are happy to let Zidane just constantly finish 2nd? Looking into Serie A as well... the teams I'd be inclined to want to manage and their managerial history; Good Lord, can somebody get sacked please! I fancied switching to another club, in England so started looking at jobs there. 4 years in... Solskjaer still at Man Utd Lampard still at Chelsea Klopp still at Liverpool Guardiola still at City IIRC Arteta still at Arsenal Only Spurs / Mourinho of the big six had made a change. Chelsea - Lampard has been in charge for 17 years! Liverpool - Klopp for 14 years, Tuchel, for 194 days and Gerrard ever since Man City - Pep for 5 years, Ancelotti for 6 years, Michael Laudrup for 5 years, Neil Lennon for 2 years and Nagelsmann has just got the job Man Utd - OGS for 15 years, now Pep is manager Spurs - Have had loads of managers for a year or so - Allegri, Enrique, Mancini, Klinsmann, but now Pochettino is back and has been for 9 years. A. Madrid - Simeone has been In charge for 24 years Barce - Koeman managed them for 11 years and now Tuchel has been in charge for 5 R. Madrid - Zidane for 7 years, Neil Lennon (!?) for 6 years and now some Brazilian guy PSG - Tuchel for 12 years, now Zidane for 6 Bayern - Riese for 11 years, Klopp for 4 years, now Vieira Dortmund - Favre for 10 years, Iliev for 8 Inter - Conte for 9 years, Pep for 6 years now OGS for the last 2 Milan - Pioli for 2 years, Rafa Benitez for 7 years, Eichner for 7 years Juve - Piazza for 12 years, Michael Baum for 4 years So in Spain I'm finding they managers do get more time than anywhere else, and teams are keen to sign former players as manager!
