Do players ever train badly?

Haven't gotten all that far into my game, only to December in the first season. Sofar however I have seen one comment from my assitant in his monthly reports that someone is training badly. My players are all on individually adjusted scheduals but I'm surprised over this since in previous versions there was always a few players each month that didn't do as good as they should. As it is now I don't know if I am to trust the assistants report or not. How are the rest of you experiencing it?
