By accident I created a 4-2-3-1 overachieving P&P tactic & it led to probably my favorite FM save in 15 years. It wasn't a super tactic, it wasn't meant to be, it was realistic & simple that could gain extra league positions based on the media prediction each season, sometimes as many as 15 places I've tried it this year & created solid tactics without the over achieving bit I love FM but really don't have the time anymore for a 20 season save, tinkering tactics every game & playing out every single match (I would 50/50 between playing & Instant Result) so having something like this is a God send to some people who aren't keen on using the crazy P&P setups. I tried this tactic for 10 years in FM Touch, ass man doing everything at Man U. It ran very well, 5 league titles, a bunch of Caraboa's, couple of FA Cups & a Champs League title. Sort of had to end it there as I realised none of the youth candidates were being given contracts & the squad was very thin in most areas (cheers Mr Phelan!). So if you ran it properly & maintained the squad yourself you could have a lengthy career with it & enjoy yourself Good one @DavyDepuydt1! That's exactly how I think about it as well
dunk105
Never had this kind of efficiency- the xG i feel is way out as 3 of the goals were inside or around the penalty spot. But this tactic ain't about that as I've said a few times, and you've probably already seen. Its not for winning titles with underdogs, it's for those who want to beat their team expectations easily, but still have realism... realism in results, in goals, in ratings, in formation, in roles, in number of yellow cards, ... You'll still do well, you won't fail and overperform, but not at the level of some other tactics... because that comes at a cost of realism (in more than just results like I said above)

CJ_Randell
Leeds Test Predicted: 10th Result: 12th Started really well with 6 wins in my first 7 games, followed later by a run of 13 games without a win. For most of the season I was in an around the middle pack, had I been able to put a few wins together I might have made it into the Europa League spots. We ended the season with the 7th most goals scored in the league with 55, unfortunately our defence was abysmal, conceding 68, the 3rd most in the division. We were knocked out away to Everton in the FA Cup 5th Round having beaten Brighton and Coventry. In the League Cup we went out to Fulham in the 3rd Round having beaten Doncaster in the 2nd, although it has to be said I played a league game 2 days before the Fulham game, so I did rest a lot of my players. Rodrigo finished as the 3rd highest scorer in the league and scored 21 in 31(4) in all competitions, Pablo Hernandez managed 14 assists in 32(9) from CAM. Both my usual fullbacks (Ayling and Alioski) had poor seasons, it has to be said I lacked a defensively solid midfielder all season as Kalvin Philips managed to pick up a major injury after 9 games (which may be why I went from winning 6 of my first 7 to having a pretty average season). This might have made a difference as with 2 supporting CM roles and 2 Wing Backs, it's probably vital to have a good, solid midfielder in the side. Unfortunately I didn't manage to over perform as the other testers did, but with the injuries I had (which were horrific all season to be fair) I wasn't able to get any consistency in my results, beating Chelsea one week to getting pumped by 19th place Sheff Utd the next. I may persist with this tactic and try it out with some other sides, I feel like 10th place for a newly promoted side is an unrealistic prediction anyways, although Leeds always seem to do really well in my saves under Bielsa.

krript
i think this is not so realistic. beacause there two BPD and there is no defensive midfielder. opponents easily score from long ball. i tweaked one of BPD to CD and CM to Ddefender CM. and i dont use shorter passing. it seems better like that. jmb1403
So I tried this in my struggling Southport (predicted to finish around 12th) save - couldn't get my own tactic to work so decided to try this one. As you can see the results were ok - managed to secure play offs however was knocked out in the semis. Bearing in mind this was basically implemented with low morale and no inbedding of the tactic, I feel like this has done well. Going to try this with 2 months of pre season friendlies under the belt as in Vanarama North seems to take ages to start Edited March 21, 2021 by jmb1403

DavyDepuydt1
If you switch tactics that late in the season, when all other teams are completely familiar with theirs... and you drag morale / whatever else that happened before with you... you can get a streak like that. That really doesn't say much about the tacic, certainly if you immidiatly play two champions league knockout games and have such a busy schedule to kickoff with (Premier league, FA cup, CL). With a "ugly wondertactic" you might get away with this, but not with this tactic... (and it's not meant for that )
