A good work around for this is to use the in game editor to change a players nationality then immediately change it back. He will become available again for your squad and then for the future still be chosen for future internationals So no knock on effect basically. And yeah you’d like to think there was something that can be done but the fact this has been an issue since FM 2008, must mean it’s very hard to fix because the alternative is that it’s basically being ignored.
