How to save db file after editing squad registration rules for an existing game

I can edit rules for squad selection using pre-game editor as explained here (https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/364519-foreign-player-limit/)

The problem is my changes are not in effect when I check in my existing game. (Squad limits are still the same)

Is there any way to make changes in effect for an existing saved game? Or should I start a new carrer?

You will have to start a new game. Competitions can't be changed mid-game.
