Number of teams in competition doesn't match expected number of teams from rankings

I'm having this problem and not understanding how to solve it. Does anyone have any idea?

Check the following.

First round you add 16 teams and play 8 games
Second round you play 4 games and add NO teams
Third round you play 2 games and add NO teams.

Usually the problem here is that you add teams every round. This is not needed, you only need to add teams in the first round and the rest will come naturally.

It seemingly got solved here when I converted to basic rules and reverted back to advanced rules. Whats the idea behind? didn't make sense to me

That's hard to say since I don't know how you set up your cup.

Also, do know that converting back to basic will reset any advanced changes you made.
