*slightly* unrealistic team talk

I always found it slightly annoying when regardless of the opponent players would never respond positively to a praise when losing by more than 1 goal. I'm managing SønderjyskE(of the Danish league), and lost to Atletico Madrid in a UCL group stage game 0-2 and xG was 0.39-0.62. Should this happen in the real world, any SønderjyskE manager would be happy about the performance (Jan Oblak earns more than my entire wage budget!), but apprenaly FM players doesn't like it.

A top club with top ambitions will always be disappointed when they lose important matches. Especially a team who recently in consecutive years in your game have gotten to the final of CL.

That at least could be a reason, provided my statement holds true. You don't say how long into the save you've come but you're clearly same ways in if Sønderjyske is in CL.

Unless he is like 20 or more years into the future, I kinda doubt his SønderjyskE teams are enough quality to get past the group stages let alone the final

I'm back! This happened in 2025/26(i.e. the 6th season). In the first 5 I managed to win 5 consecutive domestic league titles, although first year was a miracle run, 28 pts in last 10 games, winning the league by 1 pt, and last season the margin was once again 1 pt. I'm already a club legend and there's a new stadium going(club attendance went up from 5k in season 1 to maxing out the 10k capacity stadium, to maxing out the expanded 15k one), which will probably be named after me.

European records are less impressive though, it's as follows:

• 2020/21 Starting Europa League 3Q- Lost to Tottenham 1-2 (SønderjyskE won the Danish cup in 2019/20 irl, first major silverware in club history)
• 2021/22 Starting UCL 4Q- Lost to Zagreb; Europa League 3rd in Group (with Sporting, Leicester and Malmö FF); Europa Conference League Semi-Finals (Eliminated Banik Ostrava, Standard Liege and Southampton, lost to Vit. Guimarães)
• 2022/23 Starting UCL 3Q- Beat Shamrock Rovers, lost to Celtic; Europa League 1st in Group (with Montpellier, LASK and Braga); Europa League 2nd Knockout round (Lost to Spartak Moscow)
• 2023/24 Starting UCL 2Q- Beat Lech Poznan, Mura Murska Sobota and FC Inter; UCL 3rd in Group (with Man City, PSG and SL Benfica); Europa League 2nd Knockout round (Eliminated TSG Hoffenheim, lost to Villareal)
