How do I stop a team from qualifying for the secondary continental competition if they've already qualified for the primary?

I'm trying to have my Caribbean league so that the winner qualifies for the CONCACAF Champions League, while the winner of the FA Cup qualifies for the Caribbean Cup, and I do not want the same team to play in both competitions if that team wins both the league and the FA Cup.  How do I accomplish this?

 

Also side minor question: if I'm using custom databases like yellowsweatygorilla's Canadian Megapatch, and I want to download the latest roster update xml file, would I have to merge the two databases?

With regard to the second question, isn't the roster update part of an updated version of the whole file?
