7 of 11 starters poached

I have a save with Guilsfield in Wales. It’s a semi-pro club but the game won’t let me offer anything but non-contracts to players. Weird. 
 

Anyway, we’re in 1st place and the mid season transfer window just closed. 7 of our starting 11 were poached away from us. Two went to the league above us so I have no problem with that. But the other 5 went to bad teams at our level, and all 5 are “fringe” players at their new clubs but were starters with us. And they’re all making slightly less than they made with us. Not realistic at all. 
 

I assume we were raided because we’re in first place and the AI is creating “drama” by tearing up our roster. These dramatics need a lot more realism if you ask me.
