March 2009

First up this month was a trip to the Bernabeu as we faced Real Madrid in the Champions League. We lost a very close match 2-1 with Jeffers scoring our goal. The last home game against Rangers will be vital now with us needing a win to be certain of progressing.

Wolves at home in the FA Cup quarter final was next and we edged them out of a close match winning 2-1. Middleton and Gomez scored the goals as we were drawn to face Blackpool in the Semi Final at Villa Park.

Rangers at home in the Champions League was next and we beat them very easily 3-0 to reach the quarter finals. Padelidis, Middleton and Tipton scored the goals as we earned the right to play Barcelona over two legs for a Semi Final spot.

Man Utd at home was next and we managed to beat them 3-1 in what was actually quite a close match. Nolan, Jeffers and Gomez scored as we extended our league unbeaten run to 14 matches.

Bradford away was the last match this month and we easily beat them 3-0. Nolan, Tipton and Duff scored the goals but Fletcher picked up an ankle injury keeping him out for 3 weeks. We finished the month in 7th place and provided we dont suffer a slump we can get higher up the table yet.

April 2009

Barcelona away was first up this month in the Champions League quarter final and we were easily beaten 5-1. Jeffers scoredour goal and our chances of reaching the Semi looks slim now.

Blackpool in the FA Cup semi at Villa Park was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 despite a very spirited display from Blackpool. Clement and Jeffers scored our goals as we progressed to the Final against Man Utd.

Wolves at home was next and we got a 1-1 draw as the players began to show a little tiredness from the recent exploits. Scholes scored our goal in a close game as we played our catch up match.

Newcastle away was next and we lost 1-0 against the team top of the table. It was a close match and Newcastle's superiour squad showed their quality as they got the win with a 4th minute goal.

Barcelona at home was next in the Champions League and we managed to beat them 2-0 this time but it wasn't enough to make the Semi's as we lost 5-3 on aggregate. Webber got both the goals in a good game and to be honest i never expected to get this far at all.

Tottenham away was next and we managed to beat them 3-0 keeping up our European spot challenge. Goals from Clement, Tipton and Duff saw us onto a fairly convincing win over Spurs.

Charlton at home was the last match this month and we got a 2-2 draw. Fletcher and Tipton scored the goals in a match full of chances. We finished the month in 8th spot in a table that is very tight were we are.

Blackpool away was first up this month and we easily beat them 4-1 which being they are bottom was not that surprising. Two goals from Tipton, and a goal each from Nolan and Scholes saw us edge a bit higher up the table.

Everton at home was next and we easily beat them 3-1 thanks to a pair of goals from Gomez and a third from Ronaldinho, his first for the club. We an still finish as high as 4th in the table but that is unlikely we can't drop any lower than the 8th spot we are already in so a Euopean place next season is guarnteed.

Man Utd at Wembley in the FA Cup Final was next and we lost ot them 1-0 after Stephen Blake was sent of in the 2nd minute for chopping Ruud Van Nistelrooy down, naturally Ruud scored from the penalty. We still played very well despite having fewer men and were actually unlucky not to win, a ankle injury to Fletcher 10 mins from time with no subs left didn't help matters.

Blackburn at home was the last game of the season and we beat them 1-0 in a very one sided game. Nolan scored our goal as we finished the season in 6th spot, which considering our early form is quite some acheivement.

Jordi Hoogstrate joins Lyon for £3.5 million

Richie Foran joins Trabzonspur for £950k

William Bald joins from Liverpool for £725k

Robert Douglas joins Middlesborough for £375k

Klever Manuel Chala retires

Florian Thorwart joins from Dortmund on a free transfer

Paul Scholes retires

Darius Vassel joins Tottenham for £3.6 million

Christian Poulsen joins from Schalke 04 for £3.5 million

Robert Huth joins Werder Bremen for £1.8 million

Kiegan Parker joins Orlando Pirates for £3.3 million

Diego Tristan joins on a free transfer

Daniel Van Buyten joins MKE Ankaragucu for £1.4 million

Jamie Carragher joins from Liverpool for £850k

As you can see quite a few players left the club over the summer especially several strikers, an area where there is quite a surplus. 7 players left and 2 retired whilst i signed 5 new players which will cut down the squad size a bit and also earned us quite a bit of money.

The board failed to increase the stadium as i had asked but did give us undersoil heating. The wage bill has climbed considerably over the summer down to our success and players needing contracts renewing.

The aim for this season is to build on last years progress and therefore to finish in the top 8 this season. The UEFA Cup aims are to get to the 3rd round at the very minimum.

August 2009

First up this season is a home tie against West Ham.We easily won the match 5-0 after a very impressive display today. A Jeffers hattrick and goals from Nolan and Ronaldinho helped us to a flying start this season.

Fredrik Risp joins from Gillingham for £5 million, and Stuart Collins join from the youth team.

Leeds away was next and we managed to get a 2-2 draw against them after a clsoe game. Two goals from recent signing Diego Tristan helped us to a point after Leeds had taken an early 2-0 lead.

Everton at home was the last match of this short month and we only managed a 1-1 draw despite having 18 frigging shots. Dida was on good form in goal for Everton as only Middleton's effort went in. We finished the month in 6th spot after a reasonably good start.

September 2009

Charlton were first up this month and we dominated the match yet only managed a 2-2 draw. It was a fair result really being O'Shea was sent of in the first half. McNaughton and Nolan were the scorers today as we remained at the top end of the table.

Steaua Bucharest was next in the UEFA Cup at home and we managed to draw 1-1 despite easily dominating the game. We had loads of shots yet only Ronaldinho's free kick went in.

West Brom was next and we managed to beat them 1-0 away. Having switched the standard formation to 4-4-2 attacking i reverted back to my preferred 4-3-1-2 formation which the team is used to. Tipton scored the goal today as we remained at the top end of the table.

Peterborough were next and we easily dominated the game beating them 5-1 at home. Two goals from Jeffers and goals from Toure, Nolan and Tipton helped us to a thumping victory. We finished the month in 4th spot in a good position in the table.

October 2009

Steaua Bucharest was first this month in the UEFA Cup, we managed to win this away match 5-1 easily going through with a 6-2 aggregate win. Goals from Clare, Jeffers, Stevens and two from Tipton started this years European Campaign.

Bristol City away was next and we easily dominated them winning the game 1-0. Ronaldinho scored our goal as we maintained a decent run of form in the league. Having discovered the annual wage bill is £40 million i have transfer listed a few players to try and cut back on expenditure somewhat.

Tottenham away was next and we beat them 2-0 to hit 2nd place in the table. Jeffers and Duff scored the goals as we ran rings around the Tottenham defence easily coasting to a 2-0 win.

Boston Utd sign Michael Dickinson for £450k and Neil Mellor joins Watford for £550k as i sell off a pair of unused strikers.

Osijek at home in the UEFA Cup was next and we easily controlled the game with massive amounts of possession. Unfortuantly we did only manage to score one goal from all our chances and that was scored by Toure.

Newcastle away was next and we managed to edge them out of the game and won it 2-1. It was a good result as Newcastle had the better of the football but thanks to goals from Nolan and Duff we won the match.

Fulham in the league cup was next and we defeated them 2-1 away. It was a dull match and goals from Jeffers and Tipton saw us into the next round. We finished the month top of the table on goal difference from Chelsea.

November 2009

First up this month was Bradford and we beat them 2-1 at home to remain top of the table. Jeffers and Poulsen scored the goals today. Several bids have come in for Clement so i'll see if i can get a price suitable to me and then he'll probably be sold.

Osijek away was next in the UEFA Cup and this time we played worse than last time but won the match 2-0. Goals from Nolan and Duff eased us into the next round. Everyone refused to pay what i asked for Clement so currently he'll be here a bit longer but i do intend to lose a defender.

Crystal Palace away was next and we won the match 3-1 despite being outplayed by Palace. Goals from Middleton, Jeffers and Tipton made it 11 wins a row for the club a new record.

Derby away in the League Cup was next and we easily out shot them 4 shots to 1, winning easily 3-1. Goals from Fletcher, Jeffers and Michael Stewert eased us lazily into the next round.

Chelsea away was next and we were completely out played and out fought. Still we won the mtach 2-1 thanks to goals from Nolan and Diego Tristan as we set a new unbeaten record of 18 matches in a row.

Dortmund at home was next in a pretty even match in the UEFA Cup. We won the match 3-1 thanks to goals from Clement, Jeffers and Nolan. A good result in the return away leg and we'll be thorugh to the next round.

Wolves were the last match this month and we beat them 3-2 at home with ease after a good performance. Goals from Diego Tristan, Fletcher and Jeffers helped us to victory. We finished the month top of the table by 2 points over Chelsea.

Brian Shelly joins Blackburn for £425k.

December 2009

Aston Villa away in the league cup was first this month and we managed to defeat them after a very close match. We won 2-1 thanks to goals from Diego Tristan and Simon Buxton, Gomez got himself sent off near the end of the match hindering his chances of a run in the team.

Liverpool away was next and in a very good game we emerged with a point each after a fair 1-1 draw. Damien Duff scored our goal late on equalising Michael Owen's 12th minute strike.

Dortmund away was next in the UEFA Cup and we lost the game 3-2 but won 5-4 on aggregate. It was a very open, exciting match that Dortmund had marginally the better in justified by their win. Toure and Jeffers got our goals as we progressed to the next round.

Wigan at home was next and we extended our league unbeaten record to 20 after a dull 1-0 win. Jeffers scored our goal his 10th league goal of the season and his 54th league goal for the club.

Man Utd away was next and we managed tolose our unbeaten record as we lost 3-1. Jeffers scored our goal but Diego Forlan scored a 7 minute hattrick early on killing the match dead.

Torkel Wahl-Olsen joins Aston Villa for £2 million after never fitting in with the squad. Mark Summerbell jons Wolves for £600k after being the longest serving member of the original Squad i started with, he spent 10 years at the club and at the age of 33 still has a few years left but not with us.

Stoke at home was next and despite dominating the match we only got a 0-0 draw out of it. We should of scored at least one goal if not more but Stoke keeper Gareth Williams had an excellent day.

West Ham away was next and we returned to winning ways in style thumping West Ham 5-0. Two goals from Jeffers, and goals from Fletcher and Ronaldinho plus a own goal saw us stop our minor down turn in form.

Aston Villa at home was the last match this month and we totally dominated thematch with 74% of the possession yet we once more failed to score drawing the match 0-0. Jerzy Dudek had an excellent day in goal for Villa. We finished the month top of the table on goal difference from Chelsea but with a game in hand on them.

January 2010

Tottenham were fist up this month and we beat them 2-0 thanks to a pair of goals from Tipton. It was a pretty even match but our superiour strikeforce allowed us to get the win.

Charlton away was next and we wonit 3-1 very easily after scoring all 3 in the first 15 ninutes. Two goals from Tipton and the third from Nolan set us up fr an easy canter to the 3 points.

Derby away in the FA Cup was next and we maintained our 100% win record against them beating them 4-2. Two goals from Tipton, who is in a awesome run of form, and goals from Jeffers and Duff eased us into the next round.

Arsenal at home was next and we beat them 1-0 after a hard tackling tough match. The goal was scored by Nolan early on in the second half as we played our catch up game over the rest of the league.

Neil Clement joins AC Milan for £5.5 million mainly because i hit the wrong button but i was looking at cutting the number of defenders anyway and he was the highest paid.

Leeds at home was next and we got a 1-1 draw after a scrappy match. It was a fair result with Middleton scoring our goal. I am looking for a few cheap low wage players for the future being i seem to have over reduced the squad size.

Scott Bell joins from Peterborough for £1.5 million and should be a good prospect for the future

Everton away was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 despite not really getting into the game. Goals from Middleton and Tipton saw us pick all 3 points today but we lost Ronaldinho for 3 months with a groin injury.

Arsenal at home in the League cup semi was next and we managed to beat them quite easily 3-1. Goals from Jeffers, Duff and Simon Buxton helped us set up a nice return leg for a place in the Final.

Bradford at home in the FA Cup was next and we easily beat them 2-0 after a very simple dominant performance. Fletcher and an own goal were the scorers today as we finished the month in top spot 3 points ahead of Chelsea.

February 2010

Ashley Woodley joins from Aston Villa for £3.8 million.and is another promising prospect for the future.

Bristol City was first up this month and we totally dominated them winning the match 1-0 at home. It was a disappointing scoreline especially as the goal came from Tipton after Bristol City had there keeper sent off.

Aston Villa away was next and we beat them in another easy victory after a good deal of possession and dominance in midfield. We won 4-2 thanks to two goals from Jeffers, a goal from Tipton and a own goal.

West Brom at home was next and we managed to win after yet another walkover game. This time goals from Middleton and Tipton saw us easily win 2-0 preserving our fine run of form.

Peterborough at home in the FA Cup was next and we managed to easily beat them 3-0 progressing to the quarter finals once more. Two goals from Jeffers and a third from Tipton steered us on our way.

Peterborough away was the last match this month and we managed to scrap a 2-1 win after Toure was sent of for two yellows and Peterborough put up a fight. Middleton and Tipton scored our goals as we finished the month top by 6 points over Chelsea.

March 2010

Arsenal in the League Cup semi return leg was next and we managed to lose a very close game 1-0, thankfully we won 3-2 on aggregate. In the final we'll be facing Everton.

Schalke 04 was next away in the UEFA Cup, we managed to win a tough close match 1-0 thanks to Diego Tristan's last minute winner after he had come on as a sub with 5 minutes left for Tipton.

Newcastle at home was next and we managed to lose to them after we had controlled the game nicely. Given was awesome in goal for Newcastle preventing us from scoring and they only managed the one goal against us winning 1-0.

Schalke 04 at home in the UEFA Cup was next and we managed to beat them 2-1 after extra time. We were 1-0 down at the end of full time but goals from Jeffers and Diego Tristan early into extra time secured us the win we wanted in a match we should of easily won.

Southampton at hme in the FA Cup was next and we only managed a 1-1 draw and have to play a replay now. Jeffers scored our goal midway into the 2nd half but Southampton equalised soon after.

Sporting at home in the UEFA Cup was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 in a pretty easy match. Francis Jeffers and Christian Poulsen scored our goals as a few of their players caught my eye for possible summer signings.

Arsenal away was next and we got a 0-0 draw in a tough hard game. It was a fair result particulary as it was the 7th match this month and the players were getting a little tired.

Sporting away in the UEFA Cup was next and we managed to lose it 2-1 but won 3-2 overall on aggregate. It was a close game and a late 2nd goal for Sporting had me worrying about extra time but a Diego Tristan free kick in injury time saw us win in normal time.

Danny Webber joins Celtic for £2.6 million.

Southampton away in the FA Cup replay was the last match this month and we managed to beat them 2-1 in a lacklustre display. Nolan and Dean Shiels scored the goals as we finished the month top by 6 points from Chelsea still.

April 2010

Everton in the League Cup final was first this month and we lost a close match 2-1. Still we can still do the treble of League, FA Cup and UEFA cup yet. Diego Tristan scored our goal, his 9th of the season.

Valencia in the UEFA Cup semi was next and we managed to lose it 4-1 away mostly due to Toure being sent off after 12 minutes for a blatant two footed challenge. Damien Duff scored our goal but it will need a good win at home to make the Fianl.

Leeds at St Jame's Park, Newcastle in the FA Cup semi wa snext and we managed to dominate the match and win it easily 4-2. Both Jeffers and Tipton scored two goals each as we set up a final against Liverpool.

Crystal Palace at home was next and we hammered them 4-0. Nolan, Fletcher, Tipton and Jeffers all scored today but Jeffers also picked up an injury keeping him out of action for the next two weeks.

Liverpool at home was next and we managed to thrash them 4-0. It was a closer game than the scoreline showed but i'm not complaining. Tipton got two and Deigo Tristan got a third with Steven Gerrard scoring an own goal too.

Valencia at home in the UEFA Cup semi was next and we managed to beat them 4-3 but still lost 7-5 on aggregate. It was a very entertaining game and Fletcher, McNaughton, and two goals from Diego Tristan were our scorers.

Chelsea at home was the last match this month and we got a 0-0 draw after a close match. It might have been a better result if we had actually had more than one shot on target but never mind we are still top and the point edges us nearer the title. We were top of the table by 4 points from Arsenal with a game in hand and only 5 games left.

May 2010

First up this month was Wigan away and we managed to get a 1-0 win thanks to Matthew Tipton's last minute goal. We didn't play that well but i put it down to the nerves of almost winning the title. Arsenal drawing meant we were nw 6 points clear with a game in hand and only 4 games left to play.

Wolves away in a catch up game was next and we managed to get a 2-2 draw despite easily out playing them. Fletcher and Tipton scoredour goals as Arsenal closed the gap to 4 points with 3 games left and a game in hand.

Man Utd at home was next and we were crowned champions of England after a comprehensive 1-1 draw saw us pip Arsenal to the title after they also drew 1-1 against Wolves. Tipton scored the winning goal from the spot after Roy Carroll had brought him down.

Bradford away was next and we lost to them 2-1 as the players were stil recovering from the Title celebrations. We were also preparing for the FA Cup final against Liverpool too but at least Jeffers scored yet another goal.

Liverpool in the FA Cup final was next and we managed to lose a close match on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Jeffers scored our goal but Own equalised near the end of the match forcing us into Extra time and then penalties, which we were ****e at.

Stoke away was the last game of this excellent season and we managed to finish with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Ronaldinho and Toure. We ended up 4 points clear of Arsenal in the end and i hope for a repeat performance next year.

Summer Transfers and Seasonal Expectations

Eirik Bakke joins from Aston Villa on a bosman

Matthew Etherington joins from West Brom on a bosman

Bojan Djordjic joins from Arsenal for £3.8 million

Rhys Evans joins Wolves for £4.2 million

Simon Davies joins from Peterborough for £375k

Jamie Davis joins from Exeter for £110k

Rob Clare joins Arsenal for £4.4 million

The board spend £15 million expanding the stadium by a further 16000 seats upto a capacity of 51,000. Shame it also removed most of the money i was looking to spend in the summer on new players.

The board expect me to qualify for European football this season which shouldn't be to hard after a top 5 finsih is perfectly with in our reach now.

Intense rumours surrounding the sale of my key players lasted all summer with numerous bids, and the few bids i thought were a good deal the players turned down the move to remain at Carlisle.

The wage bill is up to the ridiculous size of £42 million a year now but as several of the players are getting on a bit now i am expecting a few retirements soon.

Davies and Davis were signed as goalkeeper back ups and are very unlikely to get a game. Bakke, Djordjic, and Etherington are all here to increase squad depth and in case i off load some other underacheving players.

August 2010

Liverpool in the Charity Shield was next and we avenged our FA Cup defeat beating them on penalties after a 1-1 draw. This time it was Liverpool who was missing there penalties. Djordjic scored our goal as we maintained our 100% win record in the Charity Shield.

Newcastle away was first up this month and we managed a dull goalless draw. It was a pretty unentertaining match with neither side looking like winning but at least we didn't lose.

Man City away was next and we got a 2-1 win after having more shots than them. It was a close match but City just couldn't get their shots in. Fletcher and Florian Thorwart scored our goals.

Kevin McNaughton joins Man Utd for £8.25 million.

Bristol City at home was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 very easily. John O'Shea and Damien Duff scored the goals but Darren Fletcher ripped his groin and will be out for 3 months now.

Real Madrid away in the Champions League was next and we managed to beat them 1-0 despit being outplayed. It was thanks to an excellent defensive performance that we won as Real only had one shot all match, Matthew Tipton scored our goal.

Wigan away was next and we got a 1-1 draw after a dull tired lacklustre match. Tipton scored our goal as we continued to struggle after European matches. More bids are coming in for players once more which gets annoying after a while.

Juventus at home in the Champions League was next and we totally outplayed them winning 2-0 and qualifying for the next stage. Jeffers and Glen Johnson scored our goals and we even missed a penalty thanks to Simon Buxton's dodgy placement.

Liverpool sign Jamie Carragher for £1.3 million

Crystal Palace at home was the last match this month and we thrashed them 5-0. Goals from Nolan, Middleton, Ronaldinho, Tipton and Jeffers saw us finish the month in 3rd spot 5 points behind Wigan.

November 2010

Tottenham away in the league cup was first this month and we managed to lose 2-0 despite having the better of the game. It was one of those days i suppose but it is also only the league cup.

Tottenham in the league was next and we atoned for the midweek defeat by getting a 2-2 away draw. Middleton and Tipton scored the goals but Ronaldinho also picked up an injury putting him out for 3 weeks.

Anderlecht away was next in the Champions League and we got a 2-2 draw after a pretty disappointing display on the pitch. Two goals from Jeffers were enough to preserve this season's unbeaten record in Europe, we got Rangers, Bayern and Barcelona in the next group stage.

Everton at home was next and we managed to lose it 2-0 somehow. It was a poor performance particulary from the defence but we are still in a decent position in the table so there are no complaints yet.

Man Utd away was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 despite being limited to only 2 shots all match. It was a good day for us beating them whilst lacking the killer touch underlining our vast improvements in skil etc; Middleton and Tipton got the goals today.

Chris Burton signs from Swansea for £300k adding a bit more depth to the goalkeeper department.

Barcelona at home was next in the champions league and we won a very dull and boring game 2-1. Middleton and Tipton were once more the scorers as we made a good start to this stage of the tournament.

Sunderland at home was the last math this month and we strangely lost the match 3-2 despite totally dominating it and having twice as many shots. Shola Ameobi scored a hattrick for Sunderland in an excellent display, whilst Nolan and Bakke scored for us, we finished the month in 6th spot and set a new attendance record of 42641.

December 2010

Eric Djemba-Djemba joins Wolves for £2.4 million partly as he wanted first team football and partly as he was unneeded. Christos Alexiou joins from Millwall for £2 million and will join the mixed nationality strikeforce adding a bit of greek flair hopefully.

West Brom away was first up this month and we lost another match, this time 2-1. It was down to a poor defensive performance that we lsot but at least Tipton scored yte another goal his 11th of the season.

Rangers away in the Champions League was next and we lost it 1-0 after a tough hard match. It was a close match and Rangers win meant we all had 3 points each in the table.

Bradford at home was next and we managed to return to winning form beating them 1-0 in a easy match. Middleton got the goal as we easily dominated the match picking up 3 points for the first time since we beat Man Utd.

Arthur Gomez joins Wolves for £4.1 million after refusing to sign a new contract even though i wanted him to stay.

Stoke away was next and we managed to get two wins in a row after a 2-1 win. Djordjic and Ronaldinho scored the goals as we managed to remain in the same area of the table despite a bit of a bad spell in recent weeks.

Chelsea at home was next and a win meant the Chelsea boss would be fired so naturally we went for that win. A 3-0 victory continued our return to form and got Steve McClaren fired as Ronaldinho, Fletcher and Nolan all scored.

Charlton away was next and we beat them very easily 3-0 maintaining our excellent form. O'Shea, Tipton and Djordjic scored the goals as we edged upto 3rd spot in the table.

Man City at home was thelast match this month and we had a nice easy match for a 2-0 win at the end of the month. Simon Buxton and Francis Jeffers got the goals as we finished the month in 3rd spot 5 points behind Arsenal.

January 2011

First up this month was a away trip to Liverpool and a dull match saw us draw 0-0. Neither defence was willing to let any shots through, and personally i think the players were all stil recovering from New Years Eve, bloody idiots who schedule matches on new Years Day!!!

Tottenham away in the FA Cup was next and we lost the game 1-0 after Stephen Blake brought down Darius Vassel early on. Naturally Vassel scored from the spot but that was pretty much it for the rest of the match, there will be no FA Cup final for us this year.

Florian Thorwart joins Austria Vienna for £5 million after ****ing off half the squad due to being asked to fight for a place. Naturally i wanted him out ofr being a disruptive influence and i got an immediate sale.

Arsenal at home was next and we managed to beat the top placed team 3-1 quite easily really. Goals from Nolan, Ronaldinho, and Jeffers eased us to 3 points and closed the gap to the top somewhat.

Leeds away was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 after a very one sided match. Ronaldinho and Tipton scored the goals as we returned to our rightfull home on top of the table.

Glen Stimpson joins from Leeds for £3.2 million and he looks to be a very good prospect for the future in the defensive midfield role.

Wolves at home was next and we got a 1-0 win thanks to Tipton's goal late in the first half. We should have had more really as we easily had well over a dozen shots on goal, unfortunatly former club keeper Rhys Evans was having a good day in goal. We finished the month in 1st place 1 point ahead of Arsenal and Wigan.

February 2011

First up this month was a trip to Blackburn where we were beaten 2-1 after a dirty match. 8 Yellow cards were given and a red and apart fron one Yellow we got all of those. Simon Buxton, my promising left wing back got sent off but at least Jeffers scored a goal.

Newcastle at home was next and we lost 2-0 after a poor performance from the whole squad. Reyes and Rooney both scored for Newcastle as they easily took all 3 points and continued our little slump in form. Ronaldinho also picked up a groin strain meaning he'll miss a month minimum.

Bayern away was next in the Champions League and we managed to beat them 3-0 despite having hardly any possession. Goals form John O'Shea and Darren Fletcher plus a Christian Chivu own goal saw us make a good deal of progress towards reaching the quarter finals.

Bayern at home was next once more in the Champions League and we managed to beat them 3-0 again. This time the goals came from Fletcher and two from Dean Stevens as we pretty much guarnteed a place in the quarter finals with those two back to back wins over a supposed European giant.

Bristol City away was the last match this month and we got a 0-0 draw after a dull and boring game. We finished the month 3rd seven points behind leaders Arsenal after a little bit of a stutter at the start of the month.

March 2011

Wigan at home was first up this month and we beat them 3-1 quite easily. Goals from Nolan, Tipton and Jeffers helped us to 3 points and kept up our challenge to retain the title.

Barcelona away in the Champions League was next and we were totally outplayed losing 4-0. Diego Forlan had a good game for Barcelona whilst our defence played awfully tonight.

Rangers at home was next in the Champions League and we got the point we needed to qualify for the quarter final by beating them 1-0. Fletcher scored the goal as we dominated the match with most of the possession working on the score one and defend principle that Italain clubs do so well.

Crystal Palace away was the last match this month and we managed to beat them 2-0 thanks to a pair of goals from Jeffers. It was an easy match and we finished the month in 3rd spot 4 points behind Newcastle.

April 2011

Tottenham at home was first up this month and we played a even match yet emerged 3-0 winners. Jeffers scored twice and Fletcher got the third as we maintained a good run which will hopefully continue all the way to the seasons finish.

Newcastle away in the Champions League was next and we got a good 1-1 draw after a hard fought match. Tipton's equaliser is an important away goal and all we need to do is win the return leg to reach the semi final.

Everton away was next and we got another 1-1 draw but this time we should f won as we had 18 shots to their 3. Tipton again scored our goal as we faltered a bit in our challenge for the title.

West Brom at home was next and we beat them 2-0 in a easy game as we looked to the important Euro match against Newcastle later in the week. Nolan and Jeffers scored the goals as we still kept up with the leaders in the table, it was also a new record attendance of 42646.

Newcastle at home in the Champions League QF was next and we lost the match 2-0 after a closely fought hard game. Quite a few cards were shown as we both fought for the win but it was Newcastle who got the goals thanks to a brace from Rooney.

Man Utd at home was next and we lost to them 1-0 in a very tight evenly matched game. The closeness of the game finally shows me that we can compete with the biggest and best clubs around.

Sunderland away was the last match this month and we only managed a 1-1 draw in a fairly dull and boring game really. Tipton scored our goal as we finished the month in 4th spot with a bit of work to do to qualify for the Champions League next season.

May 2011

Bradford away was first up this month and we beat them 1-0 thanks to a Glen Johnson goal as we edged a bit nearer to a Champions League spot. It was a even game with Bradford fighting to finish high enough for a Euro Spot themselves.

Stoke at home was next and we beat them 2-0 in a fairly even game. Tipton got both the goals but young left wing back Simon Buxton shone throughout the match and defiantly looks like the teams star player in a few years time.

Chelsea away was the last game of this season and we were beaten rather too easily for my liking 3-0 by a rampant Chelsea. It was a disappointing way to end the season but our superiour goal difference meant we finished 3rd ahead of Wolves and Man Utd.

Summer Transfers and Seasonal Expectations

Paolo Cannavaro joins from Inter for £8 million

Glen Bowyer joins from Leeds for £4.3 million

Ricardo Quaresma joins from Sporting for £1.2 million

Damien Duff joins Galatasaray for £3.4 million

Ken Bentley joins from the youth academy

Christian Poulsen joins Wolves for £2.4 million

I gambled on releasing then resigning Michael Stewert and it worked with him resigning to Carlisle. Selling Duff was justified by his very high wage plus his inability to challenge for a place in the squad. Poulsen was sold as he had been fairly ineffective since signing from Dortmund and was also on a high wage.

Riacrdo Quaresma should prove to be a good signing and will add a bit more depth to the midfield. Cannavaro will enhance the defence quite a bit with his experience and Bowyer will be a future star in the defence if my scouts were right.

I am supposed to win the title this year which is a reasonably request considering our form the last few seasons but my priorty wil be to get to the Champions League Semi Final's this year.

Amazingly despite increasing the squad size i actually reduced the wage bill down to £39 million. A further increase in average attendance this season would be nice too and with the wage bill liable to drop a bit more in the near future the clubs financial stability looks very good at the moment.

August 2011

First up was Dinamo Moscow in the Champions League qualifying stage at home and we easily beat them 3-0 with a pair of goals from Jeffers and the third from Ronaldinho.

John Foster joins from West Brom for £1.9 million and should be a good prospect for the future as an attacking midfielder. I was also forced to offer O'Shea a new contract as Barcelona were after him due to his old one becoming unprotected, he is now on £3.5 million a year double his old wage.

Liverpool away was next and we were easily beaten 4-1. Jeffers scored our goal as the defence fell apart making it one of the worst perfornanes for quite some time. Hopefully some of the younger players bought recently will fire the established players as they add comeptition for the squad places.

Dinamo Moscow away was next in the Champions League and we managed to have an easy lazy in fact match that we won 2-0 and 5-0 on aggregate. Middleton and Jeffers scored the goals and we were drawn with Ajax, PSG, and Juventus in the group stage.

Stoke away was the last match this month and we thrashed them 5-1. Two goals from Ronaldinho, and goals from Nolan, Tipton and a own goal helped us to a very good win. We finished the month in 10th spot but had only played 2 games to most others 3 to date.

September 2011

Tottenham at home was first up this month and we managed to scrap a 2-1 win against them Tipton scored both the goals in a game that we should of won more easily really but still a win is a win.

PSG at home in the Champions League was next and we beat them 3-0 with no trouble at all. O'Shea, Middleton and Tipton all scored as we made a great start to this season's European campaign.

Charlton away was next and we managed to lose the match 1-0 after a very lacklustre performance from the team. It wasa lucky goal but we shouldn't of been in a position to lose the match really.

Ajax away in the Champions League was next and we got a 1-1 draw with them. Jeffers scored our goal as we held on for a point in an otherwise fairly uneventful game.

Wigan at home was next and we thrashed them 5-1 with sheer ease. Two goals from Jeffers, two from Tipton and a fifth from Ronaldinho saw us make a bigf jump back up the top end of the table.

Juventus at home in the Champions League was next and we beat them 2-1 with a great deal of ease. We had most of the possession and limited their shots very well, Kevin Nolan scored both the goals capping a very fine performance by him. We finished the month in 5th spot in the league.

October 2011

Nottingham Forest away was first this month and we surprisingly lost 1-0 against the worst team in the league. We had dominated the game yet lost as their only shot went in which is typical.

Bradford at home was next and we lost another match, this time 2-0. It was a dreadful performance from the defence who got a damn good bollocking on the way back to Carlisle.

Sunderland at home was next and we managed to get a 2-0 win. Nolan and Tipton scored our goals as we got back into winning ways reversing our recent bad league form.

Juventus away in the Champions League was next and we lost the match 2-0. It was a fairly even match and the scoreline did flatter Juventus somewhat, at most a 1-0 win would have been fair.

Matthew Tipton joins Celtic for £8.5 million as he wanted a new contract which was way higher than i was prepared to offer him.

Man Utd away was next and we lost it 2-1 after a very good performance which was disappointing. Nolan scored our goal as we look to rearrange the squad a bit after Tipton's sale.

PSG away in the Champions League was next and we beat them 1-0 in a match were we never let them have a single shot all night. Glen Bowyer got our goal as we secured a place in the next group stage.

Wolves at home was last this month and we beat them 2-0 quite easily. Steve Green scored both the goals as he got his chance with Jeffers injured and Tipton sold. We finished the month in 9th spot 13 points behind the leaders but with a game in hand.

November 2011

First up this month was Man City at home in the League Cup and we managed to beat them 2-1 at home. Goals from Bell and Cannavaro eased us into the next round with little trouble at all.

Eirik Bakke was released on a free transfer as he was unneeded at the club.

Everton away was next and we managed to get a 2-2 draw. Our goals were scored by Diego Tristan and Middleton in a disappointing match which saw us slip a bit further down the league table.

Ajax at home in the Champions League was next and we managed to get a 1-1 draw thanks to a Steve Green goal. Barcelona, Grasshopper and Besiktas were in the next stage for us.

Rui Rocha joins from Vitoria Futebol Club for £1.5 million and should be a good player. Rui Simoes joins from Vitoria Futebol Club for £325k and is a bright prospect for the future. Jaime Tavares joins from Vitoria Sport Club for £300k and again is a bright prospect for the future.

Newcastle away was next and we managed to win 2-1 after a not very convincing match. Fletcher and Stevens scored the goals as our league form finally turns around into a decent run.

Besiktas away was next in the Champions League and we managed to win it 3-0 very easily. Goals from Buxton, Nolan and Stevens saw us make a good start to this section of the campaign.

Leeds at home was the last game this month and we got a 1-1 draw. Middleton scored the goal after a rather dull game really. We finished the month down in 10th spot 17 points behind the leaders.

Deember 2011

Liverpool at home in the League Cup was the first match this month and we lost it 3-2 after a very dodgy performance from the team. The goals were scored by Buxton and Bell as we were looking to concentrate on the league from now on.

Arsenal away was next and we were easily beaten 4-2 by them. Nolan and Stevens got our goals as we continued to struggle up the table.

Grasshopper at home in the Champions League was next and we managed to beat them 1-0. O'Shea got our goal as we hit the winter break in the Champions League in a good position to reach the Quarter finals.

Northampton at home was next and we managed to defeat them 3-0. Stewart, Ronaldinho and Stevens scored the goals as we actually won a game for a change. Still doing badly in the league really but things can only get better from here i hope.

Coventry at home was next and we won another league game, this time 3-0. Djordjic, Ronaldinho and Stevens got the goals as we easily beat them moving ourselves back up the league table a bit in a catch up game.

Coventry kid striker Massimo Marinho joins for £975k via the dodgy unprotected contract bollox, he should be a very good player in a few years time.

Stoke at home was next and we managed to beat them 3-1 today after another fine performance from the team. Dean Stevens scored a hattrick today as we continued to improve on our previously dubious league position.

Bristol City was next at home and we only won the match 1-0 despite easily dominating them. Stipe Pletikosa was exceptionally good in goal for Bristol City so we only had Gary Middleton's goal to show for our efforts.

Chelsea away was next and we surprisingly lost 1-0 after keeping them under control for all the match. A last minute goal from Ricardo Gardner was enough to get them the 3 points.

Coventry away was the last match this month and we beat them 3-2. Fletcher, Middleton and Stevens scored the goals as we finished the month in 9th spot 14 points behind the leaders and in amongst a tightly bunched pack of teams.

January 2012

Wigan away was first this month and we started the new year of with a dull goalless draw. Neither team looked like scoring with both of us possibly looking to the forthcoming FA Cup matches we had.

Tranmere away in the FA Cup was next and we easily thrashed them 4-1. Goals from Stevens, two from Nolan and the fourth from Jeffers as he returned from his spell out of action through injury.

Crystal Palace at home was next and we managed to beat them 3-0 with ease. Dean Stevens scored yet another hattrick as we played our final catch up game, we were now upto 4th in the league back in a position we deserve to be in.

Crystal Palace sign William Bald of us for £2.5 million as he was deemed unneeded her at the club with Stephen Blake being an excellent keeper for us.

Bradford away was next and we managed to maintain our good form by beating them 2-0. Diego Tristan and Ronaldinho scored the goals as we looked to challenging for the title still.

Liverpool at home was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 with was great as they were the runaway leaders so far. Jeffers and Stevens scored the goals as we maintained our good run.

Jermain Defoe signs from Man Utd for £8.75 million and is a very good buy and wil also help propel us that much further this season. Wolves buy Frederik Risk for £550k removing him from the squad as he is unneeded really.

We finished the month in 5th spot 11 points behind leaders Liverpool.

February 2012

Charlton at home was next and we managed to beat them 3-0. Nolan got two goals and Defoe scored on his debut too, the only draw back is with Jeffers fit i know have 3 exceptional striker to cater for as Stevens form this season has ben amazing.

Tottenham away was next and we thrashed them 4-1. Jeffers got a hattrick and Ronaldinho also scored but more importantly the partnership between Jeffers and Defoe looks like it is working very well all ready.

Aston Villa at home in the FA Cup was next and we beat them 3-2 fairly easily after ading several reserve team players into the squad for experience. Middleton, Stevens and Dean Shiels scored the goals for us.

Man Utd at home was next and we got a 2-2 draw agaisnt them. It was a very even game and our goals came from Stevens and Jeffers, whislt theres came from Van Nistelrooy and Ferdinand.

Barcelona away in the Champions League was next and we were thrashed 4-0 by them. We never even had a single shot on goal as Barcelona went 4-0 up after only 22 minutes.

Burnley away in the FA Cup was next and we easily beat them 3-0. Buxton, Bowyer and Stevens scored the goals as we eased into the Qaurter Finals once more.

Barcelona at home in the Champions League was next and this time we won the match 3-1. Goals from Buxton, Stevens and Ronaldinho pretty much guarnteed us a Quarter Final place. Best of all some of the younger players are beginning to show signs of being capable of taking over from the older players when they retire or get sold on.

Wolves away was the last match of this month and we beat them 3-1 quite easily. Stevens, Ronaldinho and Jeffers scored the goals as our very attacking midfield and strikers easily dominated the game. We finished the month in 4th spot 10 points behind Liverpool but with a good chance of getting up to 3rd at least.

March 2012

Nottingham Forest at home was first of this month and we beat them 2-0. Our goals came from Jeffers and Djordjic whilst i spent most of the match studying Nottingham Forest for any bright young kids they have a talent for finding.

Besiktas at home in the Champions League was next and we got a 1-1 draw against them. Jeffers scored our goal which got us the draw and was enough to get us into the Quarter Finals.

Arsenal at home in the FA Cup was next and we managed to stuff them 4-2. We should of scored more really but a hattrick from Jeffers and a goal from Defoe was all we got as we made it to the Semi Final once more.

Grasshopper away in the Champions League was next and we got a 0-0 draw. Unfortunatly Fletcher got sent of so will miss the first leg of the Quarter Final against Wolves.

Sunderland away was the last match of this month and we beat them 3-2. Fletcher, Jeffers and Nolan scored the goals as Defoe continued to look like an excellent signing. We finished the month in 3rd spot 7 points behind leaders Liverpool.

April 2012

First up this month was Everton at home and we managed to beat them 1-0 after a fairly dull game. Jeffers scoredour goal as the board baffling inject £3.2 million to keep us out of receivership, odd being we had £20 million in the bank at the time.

Wolves at home in the Champions League Quarter Final was next and we managed to get a 1-0 win after a fairly dull match really. Stevens scored the winner in the last seconds of the game.

Liverpool in the FA Cup Semi Final was next at Ewood Park Blackburn. We managed to win it on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Jeffers scored for us mid way through the second half but Dennis Rommerdahl equalised for Liverpool 10 minutes later, we won the penalties 4-3 thanks to two saves from Stephen Blake. Oddly the board were disappointed in us reaching our 5 Final in 7 years, must be the draw i say.

Crystal Palace away was next and we managed to get a goalless draw after a very dull and boring match. We were still 3rd in the league and could still win it although i think that is being a bit to optimistic really.

Newcastle at home was next and we lost our first league game for 4 months 2-1. Defoe scored our goal as we never looked like even getting a draw really.

Wolves away in the Champions League Quarter Final was next and we got a 1-1 draw after extra time which got us into the Semi Final 2-1 on aggregate. Defoe scored our winning goal on the 103rd minute afer Wolves had scored a 88th minute aggregate equaliser.

Arsenal at home was next and we managed to draw the match 1-1. Djordjic scored our goal against his former club as we were still digesting the news that we were up against Barcelona in the Champions League Semi Final.

Northampton away was the last match this month and we only managed a 1-1 draw. Middleton scored our goal on a disaterous day as Jeffers picked up a calf strain and will be out for a month, whilst Defoe strained his ankle ligaments putting him out for the rest of the season. We finished the month in 4th spot with 3 games left to play

May 2012

Barcelona at home in the Champions League Semi was first up this month and we managed to lose the match 2-1. Having only one main striker left and oreferring to leave Ronaldinho out on the left wing i was forced into using reserve players to cover the key injuries but at least Ronaldinho scored a goal for us.

Chelsea at home was next and we managed to beat them 2-1. Goals from Middleton and Nolan helped us in our quest for a decent finish this season after the dodgy start we had.

Barcelona away in the Champions League Semi was next and we were beaten 3-2, 5-3 on aggregate. It was a better performance this time thanks to a few players returning from injury but with the key striekrs still out of action i never fancied our chances. Fletcher and Stevens scored the goals.

Coventry in the FA Cup final was next and we beat them 2-0 winning our 2nd FA Cup in 7 years. Stewart and Alexiou scored the goals as we easily out played them.

Leeds away was next in our catch up game and we managed to beat them 3-2 after a very tough match. Toure, Nolan and Ronaldinho scored the goals as we went into the final game of the season with a good chance of qualifying for the Champions League again next season.

Bristol City away was the final game of this season and we managed to end the season with a 1-0 defeat. Thankfully we finished the season in 4th spot and qualify for our preferred Champions League for the 3rd season running.

Summer Transfers and Seasonal Expectations

Diego Tristan was released on a free transfer

Chris Burton joins Aston Villa for £1 million

Steve Green joins Bradford for £2.8 million

Silvio Marcurri joins from Aston Villa for £5 million climbing to £10 million on appearances

Roy Keane is offered a coaching only contract which he accepts

This season we are looking to repeat last seasons performance really but ideally with a higher league finish. The wage bill has been addressed a bit by buying young ace players for the last season or two so that when the older players retire their replacements will already be here playing for us. Diego Tristan was released to save on his wages and Roy Keane was signed as a coach only to do the same.

I still have several players who only really serve as occasional back up players but no one wants them and i can't really justifiy releasing them. My current transfer policy is too sign youngsters who are already playing reguraly or have the potential to become stars in the future.

There are at least 6 potential signings being watched so far with one scheduled for a bosman signing next year currently being Ajax refuse to sell him to me agaisnt his wishes. I'll no doubt add a few more too the list over the season as i could do with another young striker being most of mine are old.

August 2012

PAO in the Champions League were first this season and we managed to beat them 2-1 at home. Nolan and Fletcher scored the goals as we started off in a rather lazy fashion.

Liverpool in the Charity Shield was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 maintaining our 100% win record in the Charity Shield. Middleton and Jeffers scored the goals today.

Man City away was next and we easily beat them 3-0 keeping up our good start to the season. Two goals from Middleton and the third from Jeffers scored today as we totally dominated them.

PAO away in the Champions League was next and we easily overcame them 3-0 winning 5-1 on aggregate. Two goals from Jeffers and a Third from Stevens was enough to put us up against Partizan, Juventus, and Dinamo Tirana in the first group stage.

Leeds away was next and we lost 2-1 to them ending our excellent start to the season. Ronaldinho scored our consolation goal late on. We finished the month in 10th place after a pretty good start for us.

September 2012

Rui Martins joins from Nottingham Forest for £5 million and will prove to be a usefull defender in a year or two.

Birmingham were first up this month and we managed to beat them 2-0 away. Padelidis and Stevens scored the goals as we totally outplayed them out shooting them 4 to 1.

Dinamo Tirana away was next in the Champions League and we beat them 2-0 despite an out break of food poisoning. Ronaldinho and Nolan scored the goals as we got a win under our belt.

Wolves at home was next and we easily out classed them winning 3-1. Stevens, Defoe and Middleton scored the goals as we headed for the top end of the table early on this season.

Matthew Etherington joins Charlton for £1.1 million as he was to put it bluntly useless.

Juventus at home was next in the champions league and we lost 1-0 despite outplaying them. We did set a new record attendance of 50979 though which was at least a sign that the club is still growing.

Stoke away was next and we got a 2-1 win over them thanks to goals from Jeffers and Ronaldinho. It was a simple match that we controlled from the start limiting Stoke to 3 shots only.

Partizan away in the Champions League was next and we lost 2-1 in a pretty close match. We were unlucky to concede a goal late on but at least Jeffers scored a goal for us.

Burnley at home was the last match this month and we drew it 1-1. Fletcher scored our goal in what was a even but open game. We finished the month in 5th place which is better than normal at this stage of the season.

October 2012

Everton at home was the first match this month and we beat them 2-0 in a open game that Everton edged. Stevens and Jeffers scored the goals as i also began renegoiating key players contracts to drop the wage bill down knocked off £5 million from the wage bill at a signing fee cost of only £3.5 million dropping the total wage down to £37 million a year.

Charlton make an offer of £6 million for Middleton which was slightly below his value but being he is 30 and not a key player anymore was an offer i couldn't refuse.

Tottenham away was next and we easily beat them 3-1. Defoe, Stevens and Ronaldinho all scored whilst Djordjic got him self sent off early on after a foolish challenge, the FA later removed his ban after i complained.

Partizan at home in the Champions League was next and we managed to easily thrash them 4-0. Goals from O'Shea, Ronaldinho, Defoe, and Djordjic eased us to a comfortable 3 points. The 50981 fans who turned up set a new record too.
