October 2019

Darlington at home was next and we thrashed them 4-1 winning very easily. Bennetier and Rafael both scored two goals each as we easily beat a supposedly crap team who were riding high up in 3rd spot before we beat them.

Grimsby away was next and we beat them 3-1 quite easily. Buxton, Brinkmann and Rafael all scored today as we eased up the correct end of the table at last.

Bury away was next and we got a simple and somewhat lucky 1-0 win over them. Luis Manuel Martin's goal went in via 2 deflections off Bury players but in it went and back to the top we went.

Nantes away in the Champions League was next and we got a simple 2-1 win over them. Borghi and Bennetier scored the goals as we at last made some progress towards getting through to the next stage.

Newcastle at home was next and we got a 2-2 draw against them. Borghi and Rafael scored the goals as we fought out a tough but fair draw against the top team in the league.

Jose Luis Gonzalez Gonzalez joins from Blackburn for £7.5 million and he looks like being a great signing really.

Porto at home in the Champions League was next and we thrashed them 5-0 very easily indeed. Molenaar and Rafael scored two goals each whilst Bennetier got the third. The win also secured our progress nto the next stage of the competition.78717 people turned up to watch the match too a new club record not far short of capacity.

Man City away was next in the league and we easily beat them 4-1. Molenaar scored twice and both Bennetier and Gonzalez also scored. Gonzalez was only on for 15 mins at the end of the game but had enough time to mark his debut with a goal.

Derby away in the League Cup 3rd round was next and we got a simple 2-0 win over distinctly weaker opponents. Mosquera and Mario Celso Menezes scored the goals as i played a second string team in this competition. We finished the month top by 1 point over Newcastle.

November 2019

Bristol City at home was first up this month and somehow we lost it 2-0. Blake got sent off which is probably what cost us the win today.

Celtic away in the Champions League was next and being we had already qualified i played a second string team against them. Unsurprisingly we lost it 2-1 as Celtic still had something to play for. It was a good game actually and the lads did well with Peter Campbell scoring his first goal for us in only his second game.

Liverpool away was next and we once more beat our rivals, 2-1 this time. Rafael scored both the goals with him having scored almost as many goals in the whole of last season already this season.

Tottenham at home was next and we managed to get a very comfortable 3-1 win over them. Brinkmann, Bennetier and Rafael all scored today as we prepared for the mid week Euro tie in style.

Sparta Prague at home in the Champions League was next and we dominated the match yet only won 1-0. Peter Campbell scored the goal for us which only added to the poor result in that we never scored more.

Charlton away was next and we somehow lost it 3-0. It was a poor game and we should never of lost it by so many if at all really as it was an even match. Dodgy finishing probably led to the defeat as we failed to keep the pressure on them.

Reading away in the league cup was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 fairly easily. John Foster scored both goals as i fielded a more or less 2nd string team again. We finished the month in 3rd spot 2 points behind leaders Wolves.

December 2019

Nottingham Forest at home was first up this month and we got a nice 2-1 win over them. Borghi and Rooney scored the goals today as we prepared for a long hard month by resting the odd player.

Bayer Leverkusen away in the Champions League is next and we got a nice 2-0 win over them. It was a total domination game with them only having two shots to our 17, shame we only got the two goals really but Bennetier and Brinkmann were probably happy being they scored them.

Sheffield Wednesday away was next and we picked up another 3 points with a very simple 3-0 victory. Brinkmann, Borghi and Mosquera all scored today but Bennetier also picked up a minor injury putting him out of action for a week or so.

Wimbledon at home in the League Cup was next and we got a lazy 1-0 win over them with the 2nd team again. Dean Stevens scored the goal for us in a rare appearance in his farewell season with Carlisle.

Reading at home was next and we got a 2-0 win against them. Rooney and Borghi scored the goals as we eased towards the new year with yet another win.

Danny Robertson joins Tottenham for £2.5 million after demanding first team action which he wasn't ready for just yet.

Stoke away was next and we managed to lose it 2-1 somehow. Rooney scored our goal in a strange game where we had loads of shots to their 2 but Stoke had more of the possession. Rafael also broke his toe putting him out for a week or so.

Pasquale Ferroni a long term target joins us from Milan for £3.8 million and he will hopefully make an immediate impact.

Everton at home was next and we thrashed them 4-0. Bennetier scored twice and Molenaar and Ferroni, on his debut i might add, also scored today. It was one of those days were we just could not be touched.

Fulham at home was next and we managed to beat them 2-1. Rooney and Menezes scored the goals today as we totally dominated the match from start to finish. We finished the month in 2nd spot 2 points behind Wolves.

January 2020

Man Utd away was first up this month and we beat them 2-1. Bennetier and Molenaar got the goals as we beat the 3rd placed team quite easily really. The only bad news was Buxton broke his toe putting him out for 3 weeks.

Gillingham away in the FA Cup was next and we beat them 1-0 which was to be frank a ***** performance really. Bennetier got the goal for us but we should of won a lot easier than that really, especially with a full strength team.

Darlington away was next and we stuffed them 3-0. We should of scored more but a 3-0 win will do with goals from Bennetier, Ferroni and Rooney. Bad news was Brinkmann ripped his groin muscle putting him out for 3 months.

Grimsby at home was next for us and we easily defeated them 2-0. Rafael got both the goals for us in a somewhat easy victory. The tossers in the home office are refusing to let me renew Menezes's contract for dubious work permit reason once more.

Wigan at home in the FA Cup was next and it was a simple 2-0 win for us today. Bennetier and Rafael both scored today as i once more played a full strength side as we went for our 5th FA Cup trophy.

Lincoln away was next in the League Cup Semi Final and we got a 1-1 draw against them. Borghi scored the goal his first for quite some time as we somehow failed to win the game despite having 28 frigging shots. We finished the month in top spot 3 points ahead of Wolves.

February 2020

Blackburn at home was next and we got a disappointing 2-2 draw against them. Buxton and Luis Manuel Martin scored the goals in a close game, but still one we should of won really.

Birmingham away was next and we got another draw this time 0-0 against them. It was a pretty poor performance really but as Wolves lost we actually gained a further point on them.

Wolves at home was next in a top of the table clash and we got a 2-2 draw against them. Borghi and Buxton scored the goals as we edged a fiercely fought game, and in fact i think we should of won it really.

Juventus at home was next in the Champions League and we got a nice 1-0 win over them. Molenaar scored the goal as we made it 3 wins out of 3 in our group and putting us into the Quarter Final stage more or less already.

Leicester away in the FA Cup was next and we got a lucky 1-0 win over them. Buxton got the goal as i went with a more second string team this time. It almost back fired as we were being pushed hard late on before a rapid counter attack saw Buxton twat it into the back of the net.

Juventus away in the Champions League was next and we got a 0-0 draw this time. Juventus played better and had most of the possession but we got more shots in and to be frank a 0-0 draw was not a fair result for either of us.

Man City at home was next and we annihilated them 4-0. It was a convincing win over the bottom placed team with Bennetier scoring twice and Luis Manuel Martin and Mosquera also scoring.

Lincoln at home in the League Cup Semi was next and this time we beat them 2-0. Playing a mostly reserves team worked as the revelled in a rare chance to play easily out playing a poor Lincoln side with Peter Campbell scoring both goals making it 4 in 9 games for him.

Bristol City away was next and we managed to get a 1-1 draw against them. Bennetier scored the goal in a fairly dull and boring match really and Borghi picked up a foot injury putting him out for 2 weeks. We finished the month top ahead of Wolves by 2 points.

March 2020

Sparta Prague away in the Champions League was next and we slaughtered them 4-1. Shaw, Kerr, Molenaar and Campbell all scored as we eased into the Quarter Finas very comfortably.

Leeds away in the FA Cup Quarter Final was next and we only got a 2-2 draw against them. We should of beaten them easily as we were far better on the day and are two divisions higher than them, still Bennetier scored both goals taking him to 19 for the season so far.

Leverkusen at home in the Champions League was next and we beat them 3-0. Massimo Mariano, Luis Manuel Martin and Rafael all scored today as i fielded a ful strength team despite already being through. Besiktas will be our opponents in the Quarter Final.

Bury at home was next and we got a nice and simple 1-0 win over them. Rafael scored the goal, his 18th on the season. We totally dominated the game with 68% of the ball but due to a small number of shots only got the one.

Leeds at home in the FA Cup Quarter Final replay was next and this time we beat them 3-0 very easily. Rafael, Peter Campbell, and Gonzalez scored the goals as we lined up a semi against Swansea. It was a record attendance of 78766.

Burnley in the League Cup Final was next and we managed to thrash them 4-2. Luis Manuel Martin got a goal as did Rafael and Peter Campbell scored the other two as he continues to blossom. We finished the month top 2 points ahead of Wolves with a game in hand too.

April 2020

Besiktas at home in the Champions League was next and we thrashed them 4-1. James Kerr got two and Borghi and Bennetier also scored as we eased towards regaining the title we won 3 years ago.

Swansea at Old Trafford in the FA Cup Semi was next and we beat them 2-0 setrting up a tie against Shrewsbury in the Final. Bennetier and Rooney scored the goals for us today as we edged towards the Quadruple which has never been done before.

Charlton at home was next and we beat the third placed team 2-0. Bennetier and Rafael scored the goals in a very one sided game. This win opened up a bit of a gap at the top of the table now making another prem title likely.

Nottingham Forest away was next and we lost it 3-2. Bennetier got both of our goals in a match that probably had a fair result in the end as it was pretty even most of the time.

Besiktas away in the Champions League was next and we got a straight forward 2-0 win 6-1 on aggregate. Rafael and Luis Manuel Martin scored the goals today as we were drawn to face Benfica in the Semi Final.

Tottenham away was next and we beat them 2-1 quite easily. Borghi and Massimo Mariano scored the goals for us as we managed to hold on for the win in a tough match. Buxton picked up a groin injury putting him out for most of the rest of the season which is a blow.

Sheffield Wednesday was next at home and we got a simple 3-0 win over them. Bennetier scored twice and Rafael got the other as we edged towards our 5th title in 10 years. We finished the month top by 5 points with 2 games in hand and only 4 games left in total.

May 2020

Reading away was next and we won it 5-0 with supreme ease. Peter Campbell scored twice, and Borghi, Bennetier and Rafael all also scored. Borghi did alos pick up an injury putting him out of action for a few weeks which is as bit of a blow. This win also secured us the title meaning i can concentrate on the CL and Fa Cup now.

Benfica at home in the Champions League Semi Final was next and we ended up with a 0-0 draw. We should of scored really and probably deserved to win it but their defence was exceptional. 78790 fans watched the match though a new record.

Shrewsbury in the FA Cup final was next and we beat them 3-1. Rafael scored two goals and Marcio Antonio Pinto de Souza got the other, his first for the club. This was our fifth FA Cup since 2006 and 3rd in 5 years.

Liverpool at home was next in a catch up game and we beat them 2-1 despite fielding an under strength team. Rooney and Pasquale Ferroni scored the goals. Many firs teamers were rested for the Benfica match in 2 days time, which it self is followed by Newcastle 2 days afterwards and Stoke 2 days after that one.

Benfica away in the Champions League was next and we got a 2-0 win over them menaing we face Atalanta in the Final. Brinkmann and Bennetier scored the goals for us in a tough game.

Newcastle away was next and we lost the match 3-1. Bennetier scored the goal for us as we fielded a weak team that was also tired from so many matches in a row.

Stoke at home was the last league game of the season and we beat them 3-1 very easily. Rooney scored twice in probably his last game for us and Gonzalez scored the other.

Atalanta in the Champions League final was the last match of this season and a win meant it was 4 trophy's out of 4 for us the first Quadruple ever in English history. We managed to win the match 4-3 after a very very close hard fought game. Luis Manuel Martin, Bennetier and Molenaar all scored in the first half giving us a 3-0 half time lead. In the second half Atalanta got it back to 3-3 with 5 minutes to go thanks to a Hilton de Abreau hat trick. Then Molenaar got sent off in the 89th minute but more or less straight away Massimo Mariano won the ball in our half and did a Giggs style run into the Atalanta half before slotting home a powerful low shot into the bottom right hand corner winning us our second Champions League Trophy.

Summer Transfers and Seasonal Expectations

Juan Jose Garitano joins from Murcia for £220k

Cedric Domi joins from Chelsea for £1 Million rising to £1.4 million on appearances

Jose Ignacio Segura joins from Cultural for £250k

Francesco Stefani joins from Venezia for £650k

John Foster joins Wolves for £4 million

Jairo Restrepo is released on a free transfer

Dean Stevens is released on a free transfer

Wayne Rooney is released on a free transfer

Alexandre da Silva joins Oldham on a bosman

Jesus Maria Gonzalez Hernandez joins from Racing Santander for £4.9 milion on a bosman

Richard Gray joins from Shrewsbury for £1.7 million on a bosman

Arnaud Bennetier joins Atalanta for £20 million

H Lock had his contract terminated

James Kerr joins Milan for £4.9 million

Restrepo, Lock, da Silva and Stevens were sold off etc as they are not up to the standard any more or if at all. Rooney was released as he was to old and also because i wanted to bring on some of the other players. Foster was sold as he was not really breaking into the first team despite being a decent player. Bennetier was sold as he was refusing to sign a new contract and after 2 years had failed to settle into the English way of living. Kerr was sold as i wanted to reduce the wage bill a bit and also bring on other players whilst not really limiting his chances of getting a game.

Garitano, Domi, Segura, Stefani and Gray were all signed for the future although one or tow of them may well be in the first team squad at some point this year. Hernandez however will be going straight into the first team as he is a very good player who i had been after for quite some time. I am trying to sign a few other players but work permit problems are holding me up currently.

With £107 million in the bank and £99 million available to spend i'm sure it will be another successful season even with the large number of changes i have made.

Carlisle Squad Review 2020/21

Goalkeepers

Stephen Blake 32 English Capped 24 Caps 696 Appearances

Stephen Blake had another good season last year but also made a few big errors too. Stephen is still a very good keeper but i think its time to have some good younger challengers waiting behind him.

Tom Davis 18 English 0 Appearances

Tom joined us last season from the youth team and has not played a game yet. Tom may or may not prove to be a good keeper but he has allowed me to ditch some of the older unneeded ones.

Keith Richardson 23 English Under 21 player 1 Appearance

Keith joined us last season with the task of challenging Blake for the number one spot. Keith will be playing reserve matches for now but will get his chances covering for injury or suspension breaks.

Defenders

Robert Corbett SW/D/DM C 25 English 36 caps 2 goal 262 Appearances 14 goals

Robert joined us five years ago for £1.2 million from Stoke and he is a very very good player. Robert has managed to maintain a presence in the England team and is capable of scoring goals but has failed to get any in the last two years except for England games.

Pasquale Ferroni SW/D C 23 Italian 32 Caps 3 Goals 23 Appearances 3 Goals

Pasquale joined us from Milan for £3.8 million last season and has already settled nicely into the team. Pasquale is a more than capable centre back who will get more involved in the first team over the next few years.

Juan Jose Garitano D C 20 Spanish 0 Appearances

Juan joined us in the summer from Murcia for £220k and according to my scouts has a lot of potential. Whether or not he will be any good is another matter at the moment but he will possibly get a few first team games this season.

Jesus Maria Gonzalez Hernandez D C 25 Spanish 15 Caps 0 Appearances

Jesus joined us in the summer for £4.9 million from Racing Santander and he looks like being a very good player to me. He'll no doubt feature heavily in the heart of the defence this season where i expect him to play for many years.

Richard Gray D L/C 21 English Under 21 Player 0 Appearances

Richard joined us from Shrewsbury for £1.7 million in the summer after i had been chasing him for most of last season. Richard looks like being a very capable player and will get quite a few games this season. He may have to miss a few games to fit him into the system but at 21 i'm sure he'll under stand why.

Steve Porter D R/C 24 English 0 Appearances

Steve was signed from Birmingham to provide some back up to the defence and also because i believe he could be a decent player for us. Steve has done nothing so far to show me he is capable of staying here but he'll get another year or so.

Peter Price D R/C 25 English 24 Caps 1 goal 107 Appearances

Peter joined us two years ago from Middlesborough for £2.6 million via the bosman system after several attempts to sign him. Peter looks like being a very dependable defender and has already slotted into the first team squad as a regular player.

Ryan Shaw SW/D C 31 English 39 Caps 5 Goal 159 appearances 7 goals.

Ryan was bought from Fulham for £4.7 million five seasons ago and so far has provided some quality back up to the older key first team players. Ryan has settled down into a permanent role in the team getting a lot of games last season although quite a few are as a substitute these days.

Francesco Stefani SW/D C 24 Italian 0 Appearances

Francesco joined us from Venezia in the summer for £650k and he looks like being a good back up center back. He will hopefully improve here at Carlisle and could get a fair few games this season depending on injuries and suspensions.

Daniel Vila D R 27 Spanish 12 Caps 2 Appearances

Daniel joined us last season from Villarreal for £1.6 million as a back up right back. He hasn't really done anything yet to make me think he'll fit in to the first team but he should be an ok back up player.

Billy Ward D L/C 27 English Under 21 Player 34 Appearances 1 goal

Billy was signed from Everton for £2.5 million two years ago and should prove to be a good long term buy. Billy has only played in a few games so far but will probably get a few more this season but he is still really only a back up player at present.

Midfielders

Brian Burton D/DM R/L 22 English Under 21 42 Appearances 0 Goals

Brian was bought from Sheffield Wednesday four seasons ago for £4.5 million rising to £8 million on appearances. Brian is going to be a good little winger but due to his age will not get too many games just yet and in fact hardly featured last season.

Simon Buxton D/DM L 31 English 49 caps 7 goals 451 Appearances 44 goals

Simon has been with us 13 years now and joined us from the youth team. Simon is a very good left back who is also happy to push down the wing as well as defend. Last season Simon continued to show his class in the Premiership and for England but is beginning to pick up injuries a bit more often these days.

Cedric Domi D/DM R/L 23 French 0 Appearances

Cedric joined us in the summer from Chelsea for £1 million plus another £400k if he gets 10 caps. Cedric is a fairly able wing back and as he can play on either side of the pitch he may get a few more games than a one sided wing back back up player.

Sam Hudson DM R/C 19 English Under 21 Player 1 Appearances

Sam joined us three years ago from the youth team and arrived with a note from Roy Keane saying this is a kid to watch for in the future. Sam will probably still only play in the reserves this season but given a few years he may well be getting quite a few games for us.

Luis Manuel Martin DM C 24 Spanish 39 Caps 3 Goal 115 Appearances 17 Goals

Luis joined us three years ago from Birmingham for £3.2 million on a bosman after my repeated bids were turned down so once more i've gotten a great player on the cheap. Luis will somehow have to be fitted into a somewhat overcrowded midfield but so far he has done very well for us slotting in most of the time.

Theo Molenaar DM C 27 Dutch 57 caps 9 goal 346 appearances 45 goals

Theo is fast turning into my greatest signing ever in that he cost us £975k when he joined us from PSV on a bosman 7 years ago. Theo had a very good season last year and has established himself as a key first team player. Theo has also progressed to Dutch Captain too over the last few seasons a great honour for him.

Marcio Antonio Pinto de Souza D/DM L 24 Brazilian 6 Caps 18 Appearances 1 Goals

Marcio joined us three seasons ago for £140k from Botofogo on a bosman and has the potential to be a great player i hope. Long term he should be Buxton's replacement and left back but for now he will be a back up to Buxton even though he is a very good player.

Alan Ashton AM/F R 21 English Under 21 Player 1 Appearances 0 Goals

Alan joined us three seasons ago from Nottingham Forest on a bosman that cost us £775k. Alan has the ability to become quite a decent winger or striker but will be in the reserves for now with the odd occasional appearance now and then.

Daniel Brinkmann AM R/C 25 German 35 Caps 7 Goals 205 Appearances 25 goals

Daniel was signed from Birmingham five seasons ago for £4 million and he has already established himself into the first team. Daniel looks like having a very good career here at Carlisle for the next decade hopefully as he is already a key player for us.

Peter Campbell AM L/C 19 English 4 Caps 1 Goal 26 Appearances 10 Goals

Peter joined us last season on a bosman costing us £975k from Grimsby and although he only played in a few games to start with, mostly cup games, he developed quickly and is already capable of playing in the first team.

Emilio Castellano D/AM R 21 Spanish 1 Cap 3 Appearances

Emilio joined us two years ago from Jaen for £220k and should be a good winger in a few years time when he improves with age. For now he'll stick in the reserves but may get the odd cup match too.

Jose Luis Gonzalez Gonzalez AM C 24 Spanish Under 21 Player 14 Appearances 3 Goals

Jose joined us last season from Blackburn for £7.5 million to boost the center of midfield and the fact he's gotten 14 appearacnes shows he has already slotted in nicely. Jose is still regarded as a back up player but with the large number of changes in the summer may well get a few more games this year.

David Kelly AM C 19 English Under 21 Player 4 Appearances

David joined us from the youth team two years ago and so far is mostly playing in the reserve team. David did get a few games last year to show what he can do as he is already looking like a great future talent.

Mario Celso Menezes AM C 25 Brazilian 6 Caps 65 Appearances 4 Goals

Mario was signed three years ago on a bosman from Milan that cost us £2.2 million. Mario has broken into the first team now but due to his earlier few years is not allowed a new contract just yet for work permit reasons, as soon as his dual nationality comes through he'll get a new contract.

Emerson Mosquera AM/F L/C 30 Colombian 120 Caps 2 Goals 15 Appearances 5 Goals

Emerson joined us two years ago from Salamanca for £1.1 million and he is here mostly as a back up to the rest of the squad but also here to add a bit of South American flair to the occasional match too.

Strikers

Gary Barton S C 21 English Under 21 1 Appearance

Gary joined us two years ago from Spurs for £2.5 million and is one for the future really. Gary looks like being a great player in the future but for now will be in the reserves allthough he'll get more first team chances this year probably.

Leonardo Borghi F C 28 Italian 1 Cap 155 Appearances 45 Goals

Leonardo was signed from Juventus four seasons ago on a bosman for £3.4 million which was a bargain. Leonardo is a damn good striker and has gone straight into the first team squad where he has been giving us a bit of Italian flair.

Massimo Mariano F L/C 28 Italian Under 21 56 Appearances 12 goals

Massimo is on the verge of breaking through into the first team and when he does he looks like he will do very well indeed. Massimo joined us 9 years ago from Coventry for the paltry fee of £975k and generally plays in the reserves with the odd substitute appearance. Massimo is still one to watch for the future and with the strike force changing over the summer will hopefully get many more games this season.

Rafael Pereira de Carvalho S C 24 Brazilian 10 Caps 1 Goal 114 Appearances 48 Goals

Rafael joined us three seasons ago on a bosman from Atletico Paranaense which cost us a paltry £375k. Rafael looks like being a great striker in a year or so and i'll be watching his progress closely, he has already improved a lot and had a great partnership upfront with Bennetier last season.

Jose Ignacio Segura S C 23 Spanish 0 Appearances

Jose joined us in the summer from Cultural for £250k and he looks like being a more than capable little striker for us. Jose will be given a few years to slot into the team and to stake a claim for a first team spot too.

August 2020

A tour of Italy were we beat Atalanta 1-0, Lazio 2-0, Inter 3-1 and Bologna 3-0 as well as losing to Perugia 2-1 got us warmed up for the season.

Charlton in the Charity shield was first up in a competitive match and we beat them 3-1 in what was actually a close game. Castellano, Mosquera and Rafael all scored today and Gray also started his first match for us. It was our 6 Charity Shield win in 9 matches too.

Barcelona in the Super Cup in Monaco's Stade Louis II and we beat them 2-0 quite easily really. Rafael and Brinkmann scored today whilst Hernandez made his club debut. Peter Campbell has asked for a new contract a year after joining asking for a pay rise from £75k a year to £2.9 million a year naturally being he is an awesome player i agreed, not bad for a 19 year old is it.

Arsenal away was the first league match this month and we beat them 3-0. Borghi, Molenaar and Campbell all scored today as we reminded Arsenal how tough this league is.

Grimsby at home was next and we got a very poor 1-1 draw against them. It was poor because they only had 9 men at the end and we were all over them. Rafael scored the goal from the spot in the first half after Grimsby had their keeper sent off. We finished the month in 8th spot.

September 2020

Bristol City away was the first match this month and we beat them 2-0. It was a hard match and we were the worse team by quite some way but a brace from Rafael saw us pick up all 3 points which was nice.

Galatasaray at home in the Champions League was next and we picked up a poor 1-1 draw against them. We had most of the possession and far more attempts but only had Rafael's late equalizer to show for our efforts. Their was a new record attendance of 78800 which is maximum capacity.

Fulham at home was next and we managed to get a 2-1 win over them. It was a good win but we should of won by a few more goals really. Campbell and Mario Celso Menezes scored the goals for us but worryingly Rafael limped off early on after missing a penalty with a calf strain putting him out for a month.

Dinamo Tirana away in the Champions League was next and we beat them 2-1 fairly easily in sunny Albania. Campbell and Luis Manuel Martin scored the goals today as we picked up our first win in this campaign in Europe.

Liverpool away was next and we got a third successive 2-1 win against them. Brinkmann and Campbell scored the goals today with Campbell being in a very good run of form recently.

Lazio away in the Champions League was next and we got a 0-0 draw against them. It was a good performance but we were lacking in the striker front with Rafael out injured. We finished the month 2nd spot a point behind West Ham but with 2 games in hand.

Chelsea are in worse shape in the rele zone of div 1

thinknig of switching teams as soon as yeovil reappear in the conf as it gets dull winning all the time

thinknig of trying for an unbeaten league run this year as i aint lost a game yet which would be a fitting way to leave the club

October 2020

Bury at home was first up this month and we got another 0-0 draw against them. It was a good performance but yet again we failed to score despite more shots and most of the possession, thankfully Rafael is back soon and there is a International break coming up too.

Birmingham at home was next and we finally scored a goal without Rafael and also won a game. The 3-0 win was very easy with Campbell, Brinkmann and Luis Manuel Martin scoring the goals for us.

Lazio at home in the Champions League was the next game after the International break and we beat them 2-1. It was a very easy win as we controlled the match from start to finish. Rafael and Brinkmann scored the goals for us today.

Blackburn at home was next and we got a poor 1-1 draw against them. Molenaar scored the goal late on equalizing the game for us but we should of won it really as we had it under control apart from a defensive error which cost us a goal.

Galatasaray away in the Champions League was next and we beat them 2-1 quite easily. Rafael and Buxton got the goals for us as we qualified for the next stage of the competition with a game to go meaning the others get a game at home against Dinamo Tirana.

Nottingham Forest away was next and we managed to beat them 2-0 easily. Borghi and Mariano scored the goals for us today as we easily brushed aside the crappest team in the league. We finished the month in top spot a point ahead of Manchester United.

November 2020

Hull at home in the League Cup 3rd round was next and we beat them 4-1 somewhat less easily than the scoreline showed. Rafael got a hattrick and Mario Celso Menezes got the other goal. Hull didn;t deserve to lose so heavily but still a win for us is nice icon_wink.gif .

Steve Porter joins Crewe for £2.3 million which is triple what i paid for him so isn't too bad a bit of business really even if he is *****.

Newcastle at home was next and we got a comfortable 2-0 win against them. Molenaar and Brinkmann scored the goals this time but Brinkmann went of injured with a broken toe shortly afterwards which was a shame.

Dinamo Tirana in the Champions League at home was next in a pretty much dead match being we were already through meant i could give the kids a game. We won it 5-0 easily with the whole team doing very well especially Gary Barton and Sam Hudson who both scored twice whilst Luis Manuel Martin got the other goal.

Reading away in the league was next and on the back of their mid week performance the team remains the same. Once more they all played well and got a 2-0 win this time, mostly due to a great display in goal from the Reading keeper. Barton and Campbell got the goals for us today.

Charlton at home was next and we went back to the normal team on the way to a 1-0 victory. Mariano scored the only goal as we managed to put pass them for a win which is a new one on me.

Atalanta in the Champions League away was next and we'd be facing Bennetier for the first time in a competitive match. We beat them 1-0 with Buxton getting the goal before going off injured with an ankle sprain putting him out of action for a month, it was bloody Bennetier that caused it too.

Stoke away was next and we lost the match 1-0 after a pretty crap performance if you ask me. Punishment will be the kids get more games to show the seniors how to play. We finished the month in 2nd spot two points behind Liverpool.

December 2020

Vasco da Game in the Intercontinental Cup was the first match this month and we played the match in Tokyo. It was a entertaining match but we were easily the better the team and our 2-0 win flattered them somewhat. Mariano and Rafael scored the goals as we made it a clean sweep of trophy's winning all 7 of them since last season League Cup. The only bad thing was Rafael twisted his ankle putting him out over the busy Xmas period.

Edson Calheiros joins from Milan for a club record £35 million and he is just awesome. He'll be playing down the right wing somewhere as he can play in defence or further up the pitch. Francesco Russo also joins from Milan but for the somewhat smaller fee of £6 million and he is a Italian striker who looks like having a great future ahead of him.

West Ham at home was next and we got a unlucky 2-2 draw against them. Borghi and Campbell scored the goals for us but we really should of won the game, still Edson and Russo both started and did well.

Besiktas at home in the Champions League was next and we beat them 3-0 very easily. Brinkmann and Borghi both scored plus Russo got another two making it 2 in 2 games for him. The squad seems to be performing very well too even with a few dodgy results.

Middlesborough away was next and we managed to beat them 2-0. We had a lot more shots than them yet only had 30% of the ball. Mariano and Campbell scored the goals for us as we began to build up a nice run of form for the Xmas period.

Arsenal at home in the League Cup 4th round was next and we got a nice 1-0 win over them. Russo scored the goal for us after coming on to replace Rafael who picked up a new twisted ankle injury putting him out for another 2 months.

Robert Corbett apparently thinks i've been stifling his abilities which is ******** and expects once of us to leave soon but it is a media article after all. Michael Menzel joins from Middlesborough for £4.5 million and will prove to be another good buy i hope.

Sheffield Wednesday at home was next and we only got a 2-2 draw against them. Borghi and Luis Manuel Martin scored as we somehow failed to make our domination pay off as Wednesday were able to score a pair of late goals.

Newcastle away in the League Cup Quarter Final was next and we beat them 3-1 very easily. Mariano got two goals whilst Luis Manuel Martin got the third as a more or less totally changed team easily overcame Newcastle during a very busy period for us.

Wolves away was next and we got a poor disappointing 0-0 draw against them. It was a poor performance from the whole team and even Edson's reappearance after injury wasn't enough to inspire us to victory. In fact Edson went off inured again and the Physio says he has bad ligaments.

Grimsby away was next and we corrected our recnt bad form in the league with a resounding 4-2 victory over them. Mariano got two goals and Russo and Brinkmann got the others as we bounced back to the top of the table.

Tottenham away was next in a catch up game and we got a simple 2-0 win over them. Brinkmann and Russo got the goals as a very tired team picked up all 3 points. We finished the month in top spot 3 points clear of Man Utd and Liverpool.

January 2021

Arsenal at home was first up this month and we once more beat them this time 2-0. Russo and Borghi got the goals today as Russo continues to improve here with us. We even managed to prevent them having any shots today which was a great performance by the defence.

Man Utd at home wa snext and it was a top of the table clash. It was a thrilling match with United winning it 4-3 in the end. Brinkmann, Borghi and Luis Manuel Martin scored for us in a very open match and undoubtedly this years best match.

Southampton at home in the FA Cup 3rd round was next and we beat them 2-0 very easily despite playing a weak team. Gary Barton and Luis Manuel Martin scored the goals for us as we eased comfortably into the next round.

Man Utd away was the next game in our last catch up match for now and this time we beat them 2-0. Edson returned from injury to marshall the defence whislt Mariano and Molenaar both scored stunning individual goals to win us the game.

Birmingham away was next and we managed to beat them 1-0 after a bit of a struggle. Russo scored the goal his 5th in twelve games for us after a very good cross from Edson out on the right wing. With all these world class players it should be fairly easy to keep them all happy with football and it will prevent people getting tired out too.

Liverpool at home was next and we only got a 1-1 draw against our Northern rivals. Jesus Maria Gonzalez Hernandez got our goal his first for the club. Corbett complained after being subbed and Peter Campbell, one of the stars this season, picked up a ankle injury putting him out for a month.

Darlington at home in the League Cup Semi First leg was next and we lost it 1-0. It was a strange match in that we never played well yet still had most of the possession and loads of shots, its just we couldn't score but still we should never of lost the game.

Middlesborough at home in the FA Cup 4th round was next and we managed to get a 1-1 draw against them. It was a crap game for us as we played ***** and now have a replay on our hands too, Molenaar scored the goal for us today. We finished the month top by 1 point from Liverpool.

February 2021

Fulham away was first up this month and we beat them 4-2 quite easily. Brinkmann scored twice and Price and Mariano got the other two. Edson went off injured again, this time with a gash on his leg after a heavy challenge.

Bristol City at home was next and we picked up an easy 3 points after 3 goals in 11 minutes at the start of the match which we won 3-0. Borghi, Rafael and Molenaar scored the goals for us as we continued to play good football. We were also told after the match that we had been drawn against Al Ittihad of South Africa, Corinthians of Brazil and El Tunis of Tunisia in the FIFA World Club Competition in the summer.

Middlesborough in the FA Cup replay away was next and this time we thrashed them 4-1. Mariano scored twice and Rafael and Molenaar got the others as we reminded everyone just who holds the title, their was bad news in that Rafael is out for a few weeks with a twisted knee.

Manuel Guerra joins from Bradford for £11.5 million and he looks like being a very good young Spanish forward.

Blackburn away was next and we got a poor 0-0 draw against them. It wasn't a bad performance really just that we once more failed to get our chances on target and in the back of the net. Still with 7 world class striekrs now i can keep them fresh and charge to the title.

PAO away in the Champions League was next and we got a lazy 1-0 win over them. Buxton got the goal his first for some time and the win all but guarntees our place in the Quarter Finals already, it also made it 20 games in a row without losing 2 less than the record.

Reading at home in the FA Cup was next and we thrashed them 4-1. Russo, Molenaar, Campbell and Luis Manuel Martin all scored today as we edged into the Quarter Finals and were by far the best team left in the competition.

PAO at home in the Champions League was next and we beat them 3-1 in a nice simple match. Mariano, Brinkmann and Price got the goals for us today as we qualified for the Quarter Final with games to spare once more.

Nottingham Forest at home was the last match this month and we finished it with a resounding 5-0 win. The goals came from Luis Manuel Martin, Brinkmann, Mariano, Russo and Campbell as we edged ever nearer another title. We finished the month top by 5 points from Man Utd.

Darlington away in the League Cup semi second leg was first up this month and we got a nice 2-1 win over them, it was a 2-2 aggregate scoreline but we won it on away goals. Mariano and Rafael scored the goals today as i went ultra attacking playing Rafael, Russo, Mariano and Borghi at the same time.

Emerson Mosquera joins Barnet for £350k before his contract expired in the summer saving us a bit on wages plus the transfer fee it self.

Bury away was next and we managed to get a 3-1 win over them despite not playing very well at all. Borghi, Rafael and Campbell got the goals for us today but Edson picked up another minor injury putting him out for a few weeks and thus confirming the need for a spot of physio in the summer to fix his problem ligaments.

Atalanta at home was next in the Champions League and we got a poor 0-0 draw against them. To be fair it was not a full strength team with a lot of fringe players but 73% possession should win you the game easily to be honest.

Tottenahm away in the FA Cup Quarter Final was next and we beat them 2-0. Borghi and Brinkmann got the goals for us as we totally dominated the game from start to finish showing them just how good they'd need to be to get anywhere in the league.

Besiktas away in the Champions League was next and we got a lazy 2-1 win over them. I played the same weakened team i did against Atalanta and this time Gary Barton and Russo scoreds the goals as we eclipsed Juventus's 9 year old record of 22 games unbeaten by making it 23 in a row for us.

Tottenham at home in the league was next and we managed to dominate the match once more winning 3-1 this time. Mariano, Rafael and Campbell got the goals for us today whilst Brinkmann picked up a minor injury putting him out for a few weeks. We finished the month top by 8 points from Liverpool with 8 games left.

April 2020

Stoke in the League Cup Final was next as i looked to make it 8 out of 8 trophies won. Unfortunately despite outplaying them woeful shooting saw us lose it 3-2. Mario Celso Menezes scored both our goals in a rare appearance so he wasn't at fault but the rest of the strikers were more than useless today.

Wolves at home in the Champions League Quarter Final was next and we beat our fellow countrymen 4-1 to more or less set us up for a semi final spot. Buxton scored two penalties and Mariano and Campbell got the other two goals.

Everton at old Trafford in the FA Cup Semi was next and we beat them 3-1 in a not very hard match being they are down in Div 1. Rafael scored twice and Russo got the third as we booked another final, this time against Wolves a team we easily beat.

Reading at home in a catch up game was next and we easily beat them 4-0 as they were relegated from the premier division. Buxton, Mariano, Rafael and Molenaar all scored for us today as we also edged ever nearer yet another title.

Charlton away was next and we lost it 1-0. Charlton did not deserve to win the match as they were awful but some how they did just enough to prevent us from scoring.

Wolves away in the Champions League was next and we managed to beat them 2-0, 6-1 on aggregate. Borghi and Rafael got the goals for us as we moved nearer retaining our champions league title.

West Ham away was the last match this month and we picked up 3 points with a comfortably lazy 1-0 win over them. Buxton got the goal for us from the penalty spot but again Edson picked up a strain on his dodgy ligaments putting him out for 3 weeks meaning now is a very good time to send him to the physio to get them sorted before the new season starts. We finished the month in top spot 4 points ahead of Liverpool but with 2 games in hand still.

May 2020

Middlesborough at home was next and we got a very nice and stylish 2-1 win over them. Borghi and Rafael both scored after crosses from Manuel Guerra who had come on as a sub for Massimo Mariano who had picked up a slight knock.

Bristol City away in the Champions League semi final was next and we beat them 2-0 thanks to goals from Brinkmann and Russo. It was a simple match and we controlled it from start to finish limiting Bristol to 4 shots in total.

Sheffield Wednesday away was next and we got a 1-0 win in strange circumstances. Brinkmann scored from the spot after Borghi had been flattened and Peter Price had head butted the offending player earning a red card and a severe bollocking from me. There was a bright side to the game as we got the title thanks to a slump in form from Liverpool leading to a defeat at home to relegated Reading.

Bristol City at home in the Champions League semi final was next and we easily beat them 3-0, winning 5-0 on aggregate. Rafael scored twice and Mariano got the third as we eased into the final were we would be facing Roma.

Wolves in the FA Cup final was next and we beat them 3-0 in what was actually a very open even game. Borghi, Russo and Rafael all scored for us as we won our 6th FA Cup.

Stoke at home was next in a league catch up game and we beat them 2-1 with a second string team and a 3-5-2 formation too. Emilio Castellano and Rafael scored the goals for us today as we had a go at beating our record number of goals in a season.

Newcastle away was next in our last catch up game and we got a 1-1 draw against them after again playing 3-5-2 and using a weaker than normal team. Borghi got our goal as we drew within 5 of breaking our goal scoring record.

Wolves at home was to be the last league match of the season and we beat them 2-0 in a very one sided match. Rafael and Russo got the goals for us as we prepared for the Champions League final in a few days time against Roma. We won the league by 12 points in the end from Liverpool a new record lead for us.

Roma at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium was next for us in the Champions League final as we looked to retain it for another year. It was a close match which we somehow won 3-0, probably down to a brilliant performance from young Russo who scored twice and set up Rafael's goal too as we made it 28 Champions League games without defeat and still going.

Summer Occurrences

This summer i decided to quit Carlisle after a 20 year career their finishing with back to back Champions League title's. The only thing i hadn't won was the FIFA Club World Championship and that was to be the last competition i managed them in in July/August 2020.

A few transfers occurred in the summer with Ryan Shaw joining Bristol City for £1.6 million as he was deemed unneeded here any more. Aleksander Modebadze joins us from Notts County on a bosman and he should prove to be a great D/DM L/C signing in the last few years of his career. Nantes sign Mario Celso Menezes for £2.7 million after he was repeatedly refused a new work permit as well as only really making it as a fringe player.

Claudio Caputo joins from Man Utd for £2.2 million on a bosman after looking for a new challenge and a chance to win something. Cristiano Mederios joins from Botalogo for £325k and should be a nice little striker for us. Newcastle sign Pasquale Ferroni after he failed to fit in with us earning us £4.6 million.

A tour of Italy followed by a tournament in Carlisle were on the cards before the FIFA World Club Championship started to get the squad match fit and used to playing with each other for the new arrivals.

FIFA World Club Championship

Corinthians were to be our first opponents down in Argentina and we only managed a 0-0 draw against them. It wasn't too bad a performance considering it was the first time we had played in the heat of South America before and Molenaar went of injured early on too.

Al Ittikhad from Saudi Arabi was next and we managed to trounce them 5-0 quite easily. Manuel Guerra scored twice and Medeiros, Russo and Borghi also scored as we attacked from the start to the end of the match.

Es Tunis of Tunisia were our final opponents in the group stage and we beat them 3-0 very easily indeed. Brinkmann scored twice and Guerra got the third as we had 24 shots to their none in a very impressive performance indeed. We were drawn against Barcelona in the semi finals which should prove to be our hardest game here.

Barcelona in the Semi Final was the next match and a controlled performance saw us emerge 3-1 winners, mostly due to the Barcelona keeper being sent off after 77 minutes though. Brinkmann, Guerra and Rafael scored the goals for us today as we ended up facing Corinthians in the final.

Corinthians in the final was to be my last game in charge of Carlisle and after a tough match we managed to hang on to a 2-1 win over them confirming Carlisle as the greatest team in the World. Brinkmann and the ever improving and impressive Guerra scored the goals today for us. Edson however did pull a groin muscle putting him out for 3 months but his long term problems are defiantly fixed no so this was just bad luck.
