Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub So... Yeah... I indeed am an idiot. Had a nice save going on but... I have no idea why but i just couldn't leave my hometown United (Jedinstvo in English) alone. One club save. Bit of a history first, copy/pasted from my previous thread, because i'm one lazy hack. Jedinstvo Ub. One of the two clubs from village town where i spent my childhood. Definitively a bigger one since Radnik is relatively new, founded couple of years ago. I lived 5 minutes away from their stadium. Went on runs there when i was younger, up and down the stairs on their stands. Heck, during their glory days (and i use term glory very loosely here), when Jedinstvo played in Serbia&Montenegro' Second Division, i was a bag boy for Bosko Jankovic and Dusan Basta, former Genoa and Lazio players who were here during their developing years. Ub is where Dragan Dzajic, arguably the best Yugoslavian player was born. Jedinstvo Ub is where he made his first steps into football. If you haven't heard of him, i wouldn't blame you. One of the most underrated players in history. He was ridiculous back in the days. “Džajić is the Balkan miracle – a real wizard, I’m just sorry he’s not Brazilian because I’ve never seen such a natural footballer.” Words said by none other than Pelé, right after the two played against each other in 1968, if i'm not mistaken. Look him up on Youtube, even today he would be among the greatest, his technique, dribbling, crossing, devastating left foot... Out of this world. But he wasn't the only one. Dusan (Dule) Savic, another one born in Ub, started his career at Jedinstvo before going to Crvena zvezda and becoming one of their legends and cult hero. In recent times, we had Radisav Petrovic, current Almeria player, who went from Jedinstvo to Partizan to Blackburn, before starting his merry-go-round loan spree after signing for Sporting Lisbon. And at last, but not least important. Maybe you've heard of him. Current Manchester United player. Nemanja Matic. He isn't exactly that much connected to Jedinstvo as some of previously mentioned. At least during his earlier years. We'll get to that soon. Matic was born in tiny village near Ub called Vrelo. He played a bit for their side before going to trial in Partizan and Crvena zvezda. As neither found him talented enough to sign permanently, he went back to Ub, signed his youth contract with Jedinstvo where he spent year or two before turning pro at Kolubara, his stop-gap to Kosice and later Chelsea. Now, how is he connected this story, how is Matic intertwined in all of this and how he got me to start this save? Bear with me and this wall of text, we're getting there. Jedinstvo went through hard times after their former player Dragan Dzajic, back then president of Crvena zvezda, resigned and Jedinstvo's link with Serbian biggest club was canceled. With no talent coming from Belgrade on loans, they dropped like a stone as far as current Serbian Fourth Division. They yo-yoed between 3rd and 4th rank, desperately trying to get back where they were and few business practices/couple wrong transfer decisions away, Jedinstvo were at the brink of extinction. Tale old as time... In comes Nemanja Matic. Now Manchester United first teamer, he had means and will to help save the club where he spent his formative years. Basically, he took over Jedinstvo, paid their debts, restored our stadium, renamed it from Gradski Stadion to Stadium Dragan Dzajic and since he can't be here full time due to his career, Matic delegated pretty much everything to his brother Darko, now acting chairman of Jedinstvo Ub. Club Info Squad Familiar names but there's a summer clean up coming. After that, i'll show you with whom i'll have to deal with. Finances There's enough funds in there to get few decent players in. That's it. That's the opening post. Will report back when transfer window closes.
Carambau
I love careers with a personal history. A lot of facts I never heard of, thank you! And Good luck
Constantine
Meet The Team ft. Summer Transfer Window We've had a lot quieter window than i expected, said he with straight face after eight new players are signed. But it's the truth. Jedinstvo's starting eleven won't be that much different comparing it to last year. Went with more realistic approach with transfers, less chopping and drastic changing, more evolution than revolution. Keep this in mind for when i go against everything i just said and sign 20 players during next summer. Honestly speaking, Ivan Milosavljevic's loan should've been the end of the window for us. But then i remembered Prva Liga's rule about having to play two u21 players in starting XI and went on and loaned few kids in. This is how the squad looks coming into our debut season in Serbian Prva liga. Pleased with it. And considering i've got promoted with worse team than this, it's fair to say my expectations are bit higher than our board', who just expect us to steer clear from relegation. The Team GK Our #1. There is a much better player available on a free but considering we have four goalies at the club, it didn't seems realistic to go for another one. His backup is Ljubisa Rakic. DEF Perhaps our weaker area and one that'll be prone to changing if things turn out to be too much to handle for our couple of oldies here. Radojicic will be converted to play as RB. Gavrilovic is losing his legs but he's still valuable part of our team. Sajic is just... there. Rajovic's currently in good shape and is definitively our best fullback. Such a shame he's on the wrong end of 30's. Radovanovic, Bogdanovic, Stamenkovic, Radmanovac and Panic will jump in when needed. MID Most inexperienced but i'll argue midfield is the best part of our team. They're young, brimming with talent and i can't wait to see them in action. Aside from them, we can also count on Ivljanin, Milenkovic, Hadzic, Andric, Bozovic and Miketic. ATT Newbie from Kabel will start. He's pretty much as complete striker as it can get for this level. He's still young and should he get stuck in a slump, there are Ratkovic and Djurdjevic to take the heat off of him.
Constantine
August 2020 Prva liga Srbije Flawless start ruined by those meddling Kolubara Miners. Bit conflicted on that one as they come from my city of birth (Lazarevac) but i haven't any time to form an attachment to them since my folks moved towns when i was still little. Still, i check them out from time to time, to see how they're doing. In RL, they've just promoted to top tier, so that's nice... Kup Srbije We successfully overcame our first obstacle. Next one we'll be facing is phoenix club Borac from Cacak.
Constantine
September 2020 Prva liga Srbije Still at first place, unbeaten month and just one goal conceded in the league. Life is good... Kup Srbije Not at our best yet somehow eliminated one Superliga side. Good thing that Kup matches goes onto the penalties as soon as 90 minutes are over, as Surdulica had us on ropes during last 15 minutes. Interesting rival awaits in Second round. I'm always extra motivated when we play clubs from Krusevac. One of my mates, with whom i have really competitive relationship is from Krusevac, he's huge Napredak fan so of course i have to beat them. Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - October 2020 Prva liga Srbije We struggled a lot this month, not that much with creating chances but with putting them away. Gajic and Djurdjevic just switched off following the opening week while Ratkovic continuously picked up little injuries, rendering him unable for selection for good part of the month. Still #1, so i can't complain that much... Kup Srbije They came, saw our little village town and went back home to Krusevac conquered, as we knocked them out of the Cup. Still don't know who we are playing next, since that round is in February or March. Transfers Ratkovic is out. Went back to Iceland. He wasn't part of our first team, mostly due to constant injuries, so i wish him better luck and health in the land of ice and fire. Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - November & December 2020 Prva liga Srbije We slipped down to second place, with God Mode Kolubara smacking everyone in their way. They destroyed us in Lazarevac. It was an even game but you wouldn't guessed that with just taking a look at the score. We held our own but Kolubara's Miners just kept smashing their every chance in. Less said about my team, the better. Folks were in vacation mode already. Could've waited for one last game to finish. Oh well... At least we're at +9 to Jagodina. Still in direct promotion places. My New Year wish, let's not **** that up. Kup Srbije No games played but we (finally) got our opponent in Quarter Finals. Yeah, we aren't getting past them... Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - February 2021 Transfers Three players in, three out. Well, four, if we count Ratkovic in there. Direct replacement for Hadzic, who went home to Bosnia. One upon a time, Mehmedovic was brightest prospect of Serbian football. Came here to replace Ratkovic. Zehrudin will be second in the pecking order, just behind Gajic. Red star graduate. Brought him in because we had just two CD's of our own (plus two that are here on loan). Gavrilovic is losing his legs slowly so i had to do something... Prva liga Srbije One game played and brilliant team performance against doomed Sindjelic side. More of this, please. Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - March 2021 Prva liga Srbije Flawless month, just two goals conceded and we're still trailing behind Kolubara. Gajic has been phenomenal. Kup Srbije Expected outcome. We're far from their level. Still, quarter final of the Cup. Not bad for our first try... Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - Class of '21 We haven't made any upgrades so this doesn't surprise me. I do plan to improve our youngest, few years down the line. I would love to have player grown at the club in starting XI. But from this generation, just one player signed. Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - April 2021 The Split Prva liga Srbije We just had to duck it up and let Kolubara start second part of the season with an advantage. Still, we're in great position. Promotion is our primary objection. Title would be just a cherry on top. Let see how it goes...
Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - April 2021 Prva liga Srbije As final game of the month wrapped up, we're delighted to get these messages. It was only a matter of time, considering how much Kolubara and we stood out in promotion race but still, it is nice to have it on paper. We're going to Super liga!! Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - May 2021 Prva liga Srbije We've beaten Kolubara, had everything in our hands only to drop the ball (both metaphorically and literally, thanks to our goalie) so trophy ultimately ended at Lazarevac. Can't really say it is undeserved, the Miners had 12 victories and just 2 defeats in second part of the season. Still, it stings a bit...
Constantine
A.E. Prat // Season Review 2020/21 Prva liga Srbije (2nd place) Fixtures: I :: II Fantastic year, both for us and Kolubara. It was tight race just up till the end. They prevailed but we can also be proud of ourselves. Any other season, we would be crowned champions as early as April. Kup Srbije (Knocked out in Quarter Final by Partizan) We did alright for our first showing. For a side expected to barely go past Qualifying Rounds, we went fairly far. (Is it just me or this sound weird-ish. Legit but weird. Anyway, too tired to change it but oddly not enough to stop writing unnecessary nonsense and go on with season review) Squad This team is in a lot better shape now than it was 12 months ago. Core is there, we just have to replace loanees and oldies whose contracts are expiring and we're set for debut in Super liga. I'll try not to change things too much. Try to restrain myself. It's gonna be hard though, there's a lot of tasty players on the wire... Transfers You've seen this one. Not much to report aside from the fact that Gavrilovic and Rajovic will be leaving. Two golden oldies, with expiring contracts, both of them already found their new employers. Finances Not great but it will get better. Thankfully, our board injected 110k to keep us out of red, which is the main reason for us finishing in black. Player Of The Season But of a controversial one but Rajovic is my pick ahead of obvious choice in Gajic. Marko had an ungrateful task, starting for us despite his age and gone legs. But he was phenomenal, ending up as our best creator, either via crosses from open play or set pieces. Also, he's leaving and I'm a sucker for perfect goodbyes. Next Season Restrain myself on the market. Remain comfortably in Super liga. One of those will be easy. Career Summary
Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - July 2021 Transfers (So far) Gajic left for Napredak. After season he's had, Nikola thought he's bigger than us, refusing to sign pro contract (we were semi pro club before getting promoted) and to spread a bit more salt into the wound, he chose Napredak, club i don't have a polite way of saying how much i dislike. But let's focus on the incoming players. Some lovely fellas among them. Winger from Macva but considering his attributes, not exactly great physicals and PPM, he may be better suited for a role in central midfield. Our new starting right fullback, taking over from Radojicic. From Partizan we've got talented player and (for now) starter down the left. After getting Freddy Rincon to our staff, this lovely little fella popped up in my feed. He's good enough to start and decent replacement for Ajdar, who went back to Cukaricki. Our new #1. He's not that much better than Curguz but he's much younger, with lots of place for growth. My top targets for central defenders all chose other clubs so Nikola is brought in. He should do great, he has everything i love in CD's. Squad Still searching for a striker that would be an upgrade on Mehmedovic (there are few names i'm looking to bring in but they're currently waiting for other options) and another left back, though options available are so dire it mightn't even be worth getting anyone. Linglong Tire Super liga Fantastic opening of the new season by smashing Mladost, unlucky loss at our stadium but swift recovery during our Belgrade excursion. Hopefully, we can keep it up... Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - August 2021 Linglong Tire Super liga Bit of a mixed month but considering we've faced two out of four strongest teams in Serbia (and held one up for a draw) is a success in my book. Kup Srbije This is third or fourth time we're advancing after penalties. Character!! We should be getting past them... Constantine
Jedinstvo Ub - September 2021 Linglong Tire Super liga Unbeaten month pushes us one step up the Super liga ladder. We've even beaten rampaging Vojvodina, inflicting upon them their first defeat of the season. Still, there's a petty side of me that would've replace that for a W at Krusevac... Kup Srbije But Kup victory against Napredak will have to satisfy my desire for Krusevac's blood (this sound so, so wrong)... Rad and their Ultras Diet Nazi's are next...
