Triggerusa39 Posted June 28, 2021 Share Posted June 28, 2021 I took over Valencia 5 seasons ago. They were 12th and i managed to get them 4th before losing on the last game and finishing 7th. I have since finished 4th, 2nd, 1st and 2nd I have built a good team with two Elite Centre backs, 3 x Elite mids, an elite winger and 2 Elite strikers bought mostly on the never never. That will catch up to me. However, Barcelona have upped their game and now rarely lose? They had 94 points last season to my 90. Last season they won opening 15 games and its the same this year How do i improve beyond 90 points? Is there another level I can go? I always seem to have a blip where i draw or lose silly games. This happened in a previous save on fm 21 touch where i was Napoli and Juve would never lose and i wouod always gets 90 + points, but id always slip up? rjs82 Posted June 28, 2021 Share Posted June 28, 2021 That sounds like you are doing a damn good job at the top level. You are never going to simply win every game. There will be the odd season where a team maybe tops 100 points, but it should be rare. Have a look through recent league history for La Liga. Twice in the last ten years, a team has won with 100 points, but most commonly its high 80s to low 90s. Barcelona and Real Madrid will realistically produce excellent squads that will be difficult to compete against. You have been at Valencia for 5 years. In that time, it seems like you are establishing yourself as a top two side in Spain having been mid table. I think its just frustrating you play well and have a good season and bigger teams dont slip up. I follow some youtubers who dont seem to get what i have. Success in Europe brings in large sums of money and with some clever transfer market deals, you could still get a better squad that will get you to the top, but it will be a slow journey. Also I always think its best not to compare yourself to others with this game, everyone plays how they want and hence many people restart games - especially if its for YouTube entertainment purposes - so its best to just appreciate your own journey. You are doing a really good job, remember you are still a much smaller club then Barca so it will be difficult to compete, but try to carry on growing the club both on the pitch, your staff and your facilities. In my current Barca save I finished with 87, 96, 90 & 97 points my first 4 years. Real Madrid won the title all 4 times. Not really much more I could've done, sounds like you're in a similar situation (but even more impressive you're doing it with Valencia!). Hasn't happened to me yet, but I've seen AI teams finish seasons unbeaten but not win the title too. They were fantastic, somebody else was just a little bit better. phd_angel Posted July 9, 2021 Share Posted July 9, 2021 Yeah, agreed. In Spain, it's hard to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid every time. I'm in a similar situation. I'm playing Roma and it took me 3 seasons to win Serie A in year 2026. (Roma has been a second tier club, having last won the league in year 2000). The game became so easy for me that I had to seek out a world super league of some sort to increase the difficulty. Welcome the challenge and keep fighting with them. ray27 Posted July 12, 2021 Share Posted July 12, 2021 My experience so far, Took over Ajax for 3 years and built an absolutely killer team, 3 domestic trebles, Then took over Willem 11. First year finished on 77 points with Ajax but they won on goal difference, Season to they hit 92 points to my 82 may be a slow process to topple but year on year I am improving it keeps me going.
