I have tried to analyse how good my team/squad is. I am playing Oldham in the Championship.

If you use this values to get the he overall quality

National League      

Decent 1

Good 2

Leading 3  

League 2

Decent 4

Good 5

Leading 6

Decent 7

Leading 9 

Championship

Good 11

Leading 12

My squad average is 5.3  most players ply close to their potential

Does it make any sense)? Any comments to this methode

Well this is highly dependent on the scouts at the club and their judgement of the players. Easier and more precise way would be to just check with editor the CA of your players...
