smp20
2030-31 Mid-Season Review Ligue 1 Results Now that's more like it! Only one game lost, away to Monaco, and not an abundance of draws. 8-0 vs Reims with both strikers bagging 4 would be hard to top as a highlight, but beating PSG in their own backyard can't ever be beaten. Up the mustard makers! Ligue 1 Table We can't get too carried away because PSG, Monaco and Lyon aren't too far behind, but this is an excellent position to be in at this stage. Champions League We went into the final game having already qualified for the knockouts and needing just a point to top the group but it wasn't to be. I'm really happy to have got through the group, especially as both RBL and City would have wanted to get revenge. We face current Bundesliga holders Dortmund in the first knockout round. Player Stats Solid performances all round, with Bouyer and Vega yet again top of the pile - I just wish Vega could stop picking up injuries (I just checked his page and he's had 37 injuries across 6.5 seasons...). In other news Panzo broke the club league appearance record, despite only being a squad player for the last three seasons. He can now get a testimonial, which will be arranged in the summer hopefully against his boyhood club Chelsea. Breakthrough Players Giovanny Boyer (not to be confused with Lilian Bouyer...) has come on leaps and bounds in recent months and he's really starting to knock on the first team door. He's more likely to get a game on the wing, although he's good cover up top too. Galmiche would have a lot more games under his belt this season if it wasn't for injury. He's got all the right attributes to become a star for the club, there's just the issue of Lilian Bouyer ahead of him. Bouyer could play up top, meaning eventually one of Vega or Benamara could be dropped and more likely the latter when Vega isn't in the treatment room. smp20
Youth Intake 2031 A decent intake with three players who could make it to the first team: I think Delem is going to re-trained as a defensive mid, a good pass pinger from deep. Another good centre back prospect. A traditional holding mid, we need these to accompany the ball players we have in there. Ligue 1 A great start in 2031 up until the draw against Nimes, followed by Monaco breaking our 40-game home unbeaten run. After beating PSG in Paris we were confident but they returned the favour to leapfrog us with 10 games to go Coupe de France A favourable draw enabled us to play our second string throughout in the cup while focusing on the league. We had luck on our side with the Caen penalty win. Creteil are a 4th tier side (currently 2nd behind our 2nd team) so they did amazingly well to get to the semis. Ah yes, of course it had to be them. Unlike our easy run they had to beat Marseille and Lyon along the way and I was hoping one might trip them up. Champions League An excellent first leg win complete with a clean sheet means we head to Dortmund in a couple of days with a good chance of progressing to the quarters. smp20
3-0 down, then super-sub Grimaldi got one back straight after coming on followed by running from his own half and smashing it home in the 90th min to make it 3-2 and put us through on away goals! The second leg is just a few days before the cup final. 2nd string will have to give it a go Edit: Oh hang on, the final is later! Nevermind the 2nd string will still play it as we need to concentrate on the league. Edited September 11, 2021 by smp20
smp20
A good win to be fair, but nowhere near good enough to make up for 4 goal deficit.
smp20
Right, here it comes. Our 4th Coupe de France final, our third tie against PSG and the other was the Strasbourg loss who remain the only club to have won the cup in the save bar PSG. smp20
Another final loss - the quest for proper domestic trophies continues! On that note... We've been smashing everyone in sight and have gained 2 points on PSG as they recently drew with Lens. These are our remaining fixtures. Nice is the trickiest tie, but a good run in. These are PSG's fixtures - we've just got to hope they're distracted by the Champions League and drop points!

BTW can you post up a screenshot of the PSG squad? Cheers! Sure, here's the squad. A mix of top class regens and real life stars. Mason Greenwood just smashed 45 Ligue 1 goals beating the 44 goal record from Josip Skoblar (Marseille) in 1971... I won't give anything away about the league yet, but they're into the CL final to face Man City.
smp20
As you can see from above, we didn't quite do it. But overall, I'm very happy with this season. We broke the 90 point mark for the first time, made it to the Champions League Quarter Finals and got to the Coupe de France Final. It's just a shame that we have no silverware to show for it. Ligue 1 Disappointingly we dropped points in the final 4 games. Ultimately it wouldn't have mattered as PSG won all theirs, but it would have been nice to take it right down to the wire. League table shown in full this season as we smashed a record, 125 goals scored! You're always going to get the odd draw here and there vs the middle/lower sides over the course of a full season, but it's the big games where seasons are won and lost. 3-1 win in Paris, followed by a 3-1 loss at home proved crucial as did Henry's Monaco getting the double over us. Champions League Man City weren't having any of it this time and duly knocked us out en route to the final where they face PSG. I'm happy with this campaign. Coupe de France As mentioned before our second string got us to the final and then we blew it. It was a fourth cup final loss, gutting . Player Stats Vega smashed home 36 league goals in just 28 games, while his strike partner Benamara had his best league haul by far grabbing 22. With that pair up top, Bouyer returned to left wing and was a constant goalscoring and creative threat. William Mveumba had a great season too creating from deep. Latest Breakthrough We needed an understudy for our forwards and Traore had been scoring like mad for the Under 19s. He carried on that trend in the cup, where he got his breakthrough, earning Ligue 1 game time and scoring 5 goals in just 3 starts and 5 appearances from the bench. smp20
Well this was a big surprise, Lille into the 2nd tier for the first time since 2000 while Bourg-Peronnas join the top flight for the first time in their history.
smp20
Record appearance holder Jonathan Panzo had a fitting testimonial, beating his boyhood club Chelsea. Great to have Racioppi and Chouiar back for the game, both of whom are storming it in Asia.
smp20
From record appearance holder to Ntumba who gets a testimonial despite only making 10 first team appearances. He's been such a loyal servant to the club, never moaning about playing time since he was brought back from loan five years ago. This will most likely be his last season at the club as we have a host of good young keepers, but for now he'll sit as our 3rd choice allowing some of those keepers to go out on loan to develop. smp20
Yesss a nice off-field event that affects one of our better prospects. Meziane is currently being retrained as a defensive mid, maybe he could be a centre back but he can't tackle!
smp20
2031-32 Mid Season Update Ligue 1 Results Wow - everything seems to have clicked and we in ruthless form. We've been solid defensively, collecting 11 clean sheet including keeping PSG at bay in Paris to take all 3 points. The only side to nick points off us were St Etienne right before PSG away. Ligue 1 Table The table looks beautiful at the moment, but there's no time for complacency as PSG could go on to win all their remaining games if they strike form. Champions League We win a tough CL group in style, starting by thumping Besiktas, getting a double over Barca including a 5-1 win and topping the group with a game to spare. Our 2nd string played Bayern away and came close to pinching a result. Porto is not an easy tie, but we will be confident given our current form. Player Stats Everyone from the keeper to the forwards have been fantastic so far this season. Fingers crossed we can keep our best players fit throughout the campaign. If we come away without any trophies this season it'll be a travesty. Considering only a mediocre Milan, Southampton and tycoon-owned Brentford were showing interest in him I think he's made a wise choice to knuckle down with Dijon. smp20
Youth Intake 2032 Nothing overly special in this intake, but three potential first teamers. Diouf is my favourite. Results We've kept up our incredible form. In the league we dropped 2 points, to bottom place Strasbourg of course, but important wins against the bigger sides such as Lyon and Monaco keeps us going strong. We're into the cup final again, the trickiest tie was the semi against Lyon just two days after facing Monaco. The 4-0 win away vs Porto puts us in a great position to go through to the quarter final. Overall, just superb! Keep it up lads. Ligue 1 Table An 11 point lead over PSG thanks to them drawing with Lens and losing to Nimes. We face them in two league games time at home, a win would put us in such a good position. Coupe de France Final Of course it's PSG in the final! This will be our 5th Coupe de France final, can we finally win it? Off-field Events This is huge, especially for Morin himself as it could be the difference between him making the first team or not.
