smp20
2042-43 Season Review Results An excellent season ended in bitter disappointment as we were seconds away from the top flight. Perhaps 4 straight promotions for the club was a bit too much! Ligue 2 Table As FC Paris and Amiens come down I expect next season to be even tighter at the top. If we can get playoffs again I will be very happy. Player Stats Leroy was the league top scorer with 29, while Silue's performances were fantastic. Overall, it's been average performance wise but plenty of optimism because Djiby Loum will step into the first team and hopefully give us a bit of spark. The striker partnership of Vinci and Leroy has served us well but Vinci turns 34 in the summer and he's already deteriorating. Elsewhere Talah is also declining so we will have to hope that Ronald Le Bail will be ready to step up soon. Berthelot has been a rare player to develop well post-24, emerging as a centre back capable of holding his own at this level. Both wingers did ok, but are not to the required standard to really trouble defences. We need good young recruits soon! Starting 11 GK - Silue DR - Lefort DC - Boyer DC - Berthelot DL - Taddei DM - Nyandwi DM - Talah MR - Keita ML - Maillot CF - Vinci AF - Leroy Facilities A long way off a top quality academy, but we've improved a lot since Balmont's first day and hopefully our finances will continue to allow us to develop. smp20
2043-44 Mid-Season Update Results A dream start of three straight wins capitulated into two points in six games and disgruntlement among the fans. We've picked up a few wins since but we're far from promotion form. Ligue 2 Table Position wise were looking handy but points wise we're 7 points off the playoffs. We need an excellent run of form to push into them. A couple of bad results and we'll be in the bottom half and could get stuck there. Player Stats The partnership of Vinci-Leroy is no more, it's time for Loum-Dubois, but the latter is taking time to settle in. Loum started with a bang but went a long period without scoring. We're missing a more athletic Talah in the middle; he's now a shadow of what he was. We need quality young players coming through, pronto. Youth Intake Preview Golden generation but a keeper and attacking mid the standout players. We have one of the best keepers in the league and we don't use attacking mids, hopefully it's an easy re-train.

smp20
Silue: The Ivorian Hero Mohamed Silue conducted one of the best goalkeeping displays known to man in 120 minutes, keeping Dijon at bay. He followed it up with two great penalty saves in a 4-3 penalty win. The Ivorian Hero has single (double?) handedly driven SC Lyon into the Coupe de France final. WHAT. A. MAN. An excellent run to the final, tricky ties vs Bordeaux and Brest early on were overcome. We got through the quarter final via another penalty shootout and of course that man Silue was key again. We now face Montpellier in the final. They're having their best season in years, but we've got a chance. My assistant certainly thinks so!

smp20
2044 Youth Intake Oooh yes, four 5* potential players Paulos is an incredible prospect. He's already quick, good on the ball and he can take all three set pieces (first 10+ penalty taker i've ever had I think). Add to that his 19 flair and he could be a creative genius. Bonnet has an excellent personality and he's a well rounded full back. Ready to go straight into the first team next season. I don't really rate Petit. He's technically decent, but slow. He'll be retrained as a defensive midfielder. Traore is a decent goalkeeper prospect, though he's got a long way to go to stand a chance of ousting Silue. Ligue 2 Results 4 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses. Another mixed bag. Twice we've played a completely second string due to resting players for the cup. Orleans battered our second XI, while we managed to sneak a result vs Caen. Ligue 2 Table It can't be ruled out yet, but a Play-off place is looking very unlikely. Looks like it'll be a revamp job with the youngsters next season. However, we do of course have that cup final to look forward to!

smp20
Here we go, our 2nd cup final! We're without Djiby Loum whose long term injury is a blow to the team and his development. Maillot would also have started.

smp20
2043-44 Season Review Ligue 2 Mid-table obscurity, though we made it more respectable by winning our final game 5-1 vs Guingamp and finishing just 3 points off the playoffs. Coupe de France A fantastic run, with our progress to the final thanks to Mo Silue. Player Stats For the first time ever in my own FM history, a goalkeeper is the fans player of the season and rightly so. I'm confident Loum and Dubois will have a more prolific season next season now they've both got their first proper seasons under their belt. Bonnet made his debut in the cup final and I'm excited to get Paulos involved next season. Facilities Another expensive upgrade on the way but come early next season we will have good training and youth facilities. Finances It's integral to keep upgraded our facilities but it has hit us financially. We'd easily have £5m+ in the bank otherwise after our recent cup run, but be stuck with adequate facilities which isn't good enough to progress. smp20
It's taken quarter of a century, but France has gained it's 4th CL spot Helped by a French finalist in each of the last four seasons. smp20
2044-45 Mid-Season Update Ligue 2 Results A fantastic start with three straight wins followed by an iffy patch had me thinking it was last season all over again. Luckily I was wrong and we went on a good run bat a couple of away defeats. Ligue 2 Table There's a long way to go but we're top. Fingers crossed we can keep up the pace. Coupe de France Our second string have comfortably dispatched two 5th tier sides. Let's have a good draw please! Player Stats Kevin Dubois has started to show the goalscoring ability we knew he could harness, while Keita and Paulos are having excellent scoring and creative spells on either wing. Silue is off to the AFCON which will be a big miss. Rudy Berthelot has been key at the heart of our defence, a bit of an unsung hero. Youth Intake Preview Another promising intake, with another keeper but this time full backs too!

smp20
Youth Intake 2045 This is a very exciting intake, four potentials starlets all of whom will be ready for first team football next saeason by the looks of it. Kamden is a well rounded player who will be re-trained as a right winger. I expect him to become first choice over the course of next season once he's accomplished playing there. Huachecorne is a natrual right back, but he's good in the air and poor going forward so I think he'll be much better switching to a centre back role. Valette is a very interesting player. He's a keeper, but 5'7!! Of course he's awful in the air, but he's an excellent sweeper-keeper. If he has a growth spurt to 5'9 / 5'10 and develops nicely he could be a future No. 1. I don't think I've ever seen such good mental attributes for a 15 year old. He looks excellent already and he'll be straight into the first team to compete for the left back spot with Taddei next season. Results Disappointment in the cup was followed by eight straight wins in the league. It eventually came to an end, but what a run! Ligue 2 Table 6 games left and we're 9 points clear. It's a great lead, but not unassailable and we need to be cautious especially considering we lost our last game to Troyes.
