Opposition Instructions

I've only recently started getting into opposition instructions. I have several set up in the tactics area under the positions tab. When I go into the actual game none of these seem to be active on the relevant players? Is this a visual thing or do I need to do something to make my preset opposition instructions actually take hold once the game begins?

You need to go to Opposition and switch every opponent from personal OI to positional OI. it's a switch to the right of their name
