CSU Craiova will play in the Conference League, as it defeated FCSB, which defeated Rapid in the European Places Play-off.

The UEFA Champions League was won by our group opponents, FC Barcelona in the final with Bayern Munich, last season's champions. Barcelona eliminated Juventus, Milan and Manchester City.

UEFA Europa League was won by Inter in the final with AS Monaco.

The UEFA Conference League was won by Villarreal in the final against Stuttgart.

The Romanian Cup was won by CFR Cluj, in the final with CSU Craiova.

In the new season we play from the UCL group stage.

Unfortunately, the USA defeated us 2-1, even if they played 75 minutes in 10 people. We finished in 2nd place, and in Round of 32 we will play against Brazil.

Our story at the 2026 World Cup ended with a huge bad luck, on penalties. Although in the 82nd minute we scored for 2-0, we were so lucky that we scored in the 84th and 89th minutes. Then we lost on penalties after Bodișteanu missed.

In the end, I'm proud of my players. They were 10 minutes away from eliminating Brazil and were eliminated on penalties. Brazil was eliminated in the next match by Croatia with 5-0.

In June I made 4 transfers. One of the transfers broke the record for the largest transfer by the amount of money in Romania.

I also sent to loan three players and sold one.

Rolando Cedeno was named the Romanian First League Player of the Month.

In August, we sold two players, David Dinu for 12 million euros in Naples and Adrian Păun for 2.1 million euros in Hanover, and we sent a player, Zhivko Ivanov, on loan to CFR Cluj.

The draw for the UEFA Champions League groups was supposed to take place already, but it doesn't seem to have happened.

UCL:
Farul Constanța:

Farul Constanța was eliminated in the second round by Dynamo Kiev with 3-0 at aggregate.

UEL:
Farul Constanța:

Farul Constanța eliminated Grasshoppers in the third round with 3-2 at aggregate, but was eliminated by Celtic in play-off with 3-0 at aggregate.

CFR Cluj:

CFR Cluj eliminated Fredrikstad, the champions of Norway, in play-off with 3-1 at aggregate.

Conference League:

FC Argeș was eliminated by Goztepe in round 3 with 2-1 at aggregate.

CSU Craiova:

CSU Craiova eliminated Koper in the second round with 4-0 at aggregate, eliminated Aris in third round with 4-1 at aggregate and then eliminated Austria Wien with 5-1 at aggregate in play-off.

In the Conference League groups they will play with Fredrikstad, Lazio and Dinamo Tbilisi.

Farul Constanța:

In the Conference League groups they will play with BATE Borisov, Mlada Boleslav and Fenerbahce.

In the UEFA Champions League we will play with AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Leverkusen. Only heavy teams ... Luckily I've played with each of these teams before and I've beaten them at least once.

Unfortunately, we lost both matches in the Champions League, 2-1 with Milan and 3-2 with Atletico. That is, if we are lucky enough to play only with opponents like them ... I hope at least in 3rd place, but it's hard considering that Leverkusen defeated AC Milan.

We also won the last two matches of the Nations League, 5-0 with Estonia and 4-1 with Armenia and we finished in first place with 18 points, ie the maximum of points.

In March we lost the first match of Liga 1 of this season, 2-0 with CSU Craiova, but otherwise we only had victories. We are on the first place at 21 points from the 2nd place, CFR Cluj.

Romania

In March, we won both national team matches, 4-1 with Wales and 3-0 with Latvia.

In April we suffered the second defeat of this season in League 1, after losing 3-1 to UTA Arad, a match in which we had tired players, because two days earlier we played with FC Voluntari in the Romanian Cup , match in which we made 1-1. Apart from these results, we made it 0-0 with FCSB, and we won the rest of the matches. We are on the first place at 13 points from the 2nd place, CSU Craiova, which has a less played match. Although at the beginning of the month the difference was 21 points, now we are in the playoffs, and the points are halved.

In May we had only victories, which means that we won both Liga 1 and the Romanian Cup. UTA Arad also qualified in UCL. CSU Craiova qualified in the Europa League, and CFR Cluj qualified in the Conference League, and FC Argeș will play with Farul Constanța or Sepsi for a Conference League place.

U Cluj and CSM Reșița were relegated to Liga 2, and Gaz Metan Mediaș and FC Botoșani will play the play-offs to save them from relegation with 3rd and 4th place in Liga 2.

FCU Craiova and CS Mioveni promoted in Liga 1, and Petrolul and Progresul play play-offs with Botoșani and Gaz Metan Mediaș.

Tottenham won the UEFA Europa League in the final with Napoli, 3-2.

Wolfsburg won the UEFA Conference League in the final with OM, 3-2, in overtime.

In August, we qualified for the UCL groups again, after defeating Qarabag 6-0. We lost the first match of the season with Sepsi, but we are still in first place.

In the UCL groups we will play again in a very heavy group, with PSG, Chelsea and Real Sociedad.

I bought a single player in August, 17-year-old Ivelin Stoev from Ludogorets.

In August, we sold 5 players, including the best player, Danijel Acimovic, for only 3.7M euros due to the termination clause. However, I also made a transfer of 21M euros, but also of 10.5M euros.

At the Romanian national team, we defeated Wales 3-2 and drew with Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1-1, after they equalized with a penalty goal in the 90 + 4 minute.

In October we won both matches, with Latvia 8-1 and Liechtenstein 13-0. We only need one more point to get the 2nd place.

In November we won two of the 3 matches, because, even if we defeated Real Sociedad in Spain with 4-2, we lost with PSG at home with 5-2 and we defeated FCU Craiova with 7-2.

In the national team, even if we did not beat either Bosnia or Portugal, we managed to qualify for EURO 2028, at the limit.
