Love this idea.  How will you handle youth development?

Youth Development is so much better. What you have now is 20 divisions of U23 and U18 teams playing competitive matches and also with the whole world in the one League system, The transfer and loan market is so much better. So if your fancy is keeping the youth within your club, they will get plenty of league action to develop and if you prefer to loan out, you will get plenty of decent clubs looking to develop your players for you.

I am the owner of the original Legends game for Football Manager, the Ultimate Legends and Stars (1880-Date), First released in FM14 and which was also released in FM16,FM17 & FM18. the most in-depth legends game ever produced for Football Manager.

I am also the creator of the Ultimate Doom Tactic also created originally in FM14 which has got 5 stars from the FM Community. To answer your question specifically, I do not follow any tutorial.  I am self taught with well over 10000 hours experience in the FM Editor spanning more than a decade. I have been making super leagues for many years now. I first started creating content for FM back in 2010.

Sounds like im talking to a FM legend here.

Do you think you could explain how to set rules for a competition ? I thought that may be instead of adding a new competition, I could duplicate an existing ligue and edit the rules, in order to be able to add teams from different countries. But even that I've not figured it out yet.

Plus, you talked about your legends game. Does that mean that you recreate players from the past ? Because thats something I was looking for. Like for example recreate players such as Thierry Henry, put him in Monaco academy, and set his futur transfert to Arsenal.

Thanks for the answer.

Hi Fenech.

Can I make a question/suggestion? Can you not make a sort of competition for national teams in the same month or group the national friendly matches into the same month (like happining all in the month of May or June)?

If you are interested in learning how to set rules for a competition, there are great guides/manuals on this forum. It's Ultimate Legends & Stars 1880-Present - Including Thierry Henry. Actually all the reputable teams in the world have their best ever 25-30 legends/stars since 1880, inc, players managers & chairman back again. But that is for a different topic listing. This is the world super league.

Well, its 20 divisions of 20 teams, so yes quite a lot of brazil teams are there and not just the first division ones.

The suggestion I wrote it here, but the original idea is from Arsène Wenger and his World Cup every 2 years reform. He wants the National games qualifying matches to confined into 1 or 2 months and I quite like the idea. ;)

can you give an update of the eta? Weeks, months, days?

Many thanks!

I estimate that I will release in the week starting 12th December but there is a chance I might release the week before.. or the week after as the case may be.

Hum... is this screenshot the idea we talk about?

Unfortunately it was not possible to implement the idea, even though it would be amazing, perhaps if I had full access to the software/coding then I would be able to make something even more awesome but FM restricts what you can actually do in the editor. So I went with the next best option of just bringing back the international scene altogether.

Hey Fenech,

YES.. it is coming! Thank You so much for bringing what so many were wishing/wanting and hoping for.. Fenech's World Super League!

One question.. do you know of the excistence of Football Legends as Free Agents by UKFootballScore on FMScout for FM21?

It won't work with FM22, so i was thinking maybe you can create a (free agent) legend database with players like Maradona, Péle and so forth for FM22?

I know it is a long shot, but you never know..

Cheers

Hi Fenech, looks like another fantastic piece of work. Couple of question (and it is probably just a quirk of my mind), with these world leagues their always needs to be a based nation, I think England in this case and that nation tends to be more prominent, ie when manager job become available English managers start getting appointed a lot more. Is this the case and is there anything that can be done as a work around to prevent this?

The other question is to do with transfer policies / club visions - I like the idea that teams try to keep a core of players from their home nation - a Flamengo or River Plate are a lot more interesting side if they are mainly full of South Americans rather than Europeans. Was thinking I could work through the teams club visions and edit them so they lean towards players from certain nations - do you think that would work?

Hi Charles,

I will be producing the Legends game this year. All legends and stars (Players/Managers/Chairmen from 1880 to present. It will be the first time I release since FM18.

So I think it would be straightforward enough for me to also release a separate database where select legends are free agents at the start of the FM22 game as you have suggested.

Even though England is where the league is based, the clubs are still located in their relevant countries and and they still play their homes game in their relevant countries too. To be fair I hope English managers do get appointed more as I don't think enough of them get a good crack at top level management. I tend to find that the clubs appoint managers with the best reputation and best fit for their club vision and also managers with the best records. However I will keep a close eye on that theory in testing, the obvious way to combat it would be for a french club e.g. to 'prefer managers from france or europe or 'prefer not to employ english managers' but until I see evidence that favours english managers, I would be reluctant to make that change.

On the second question, that is a very good idea! If I find in testing that these 'South American teams like River Plate' or La Maquina as I prefer to call them start flooding themselves with euro players, I will be looking to implement your idea with haste and that would certainly do the trick!  but so far I am actually seeing evidence to the contrary.

As you can see the squad is looking very south American, so we can check their transfers so far to see what their policies are..

So apart from 1 Greek player, (Smart move as they already have a Greek player in their ranks) they have kept it south American in the main, I will monitor it and if I find that they start losing any south American identity, then I will make that change you suggest as it is a great suggestion.

Hi Fenech.

Thank you for responding.

OMG.. The Ultimate Legends sounds awesome! And all the way back to 1880! And some as free agents as a seperate database just like UKFootballScore on FMSCout! Awesome dude!

Any idea when these will be released? And will they work with your WorldSuperLeague, so i can choose to play WSL with or without Legends?

Friday the 10th is something worth waiting for..

Take Care and Cheers,

Charles

Yes, when I released ultimate legends back in 2018, I actually produced the first edition of this super league back then, and the legends were very much a part of that in another separate database I brought out.

Hello Fenech,

Sorry to bother you again, but do you have a release date for the Ultimate Legends? Will it be released together with the new WorldSuperLeague december 10?

Cheers,

Charles

No there is no release date for the Ultimate Legends, A work on that level and scale takes a lot of time and effort, It won't be released for a while yet.

Hey Fenech,

Looking forward to download this file and play all weekend with it.
How far are you in with this game? And what kinda kit/logo/face packs goes along with this?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Patje,

I am still working away on it, I want to make sure everything is perfect prior to release as I only release top quality. Similar to Mr Hough's Tactics, only the very best quality will do for me.
