Sold players in between summer-jan window - Budget gone

I sold 2 players for a total of 30m in November, asked for a higher wage budget and had it granted etc. As soon as Jan hit, my transfer budget and wage budget reverted back to what they were before any of that happened. 

A friend had similar happen.
