Neckzz
Hi I try to replicate the tactic when Union played his first season in the bundesliga. It was a typical underdog long ball tactic. The Team was sitting deep playing the long ball to the Target forward/Target man (Sebastian Andersson 190cm) he secured the ball in the opponents half and wait for the wingers and central midfielder to come in and look for the pass behind the last defensive line. any suggestions how could i replicate this? MessiMessiMessi
Why Cautious? You want quick transition not cautious mentality. Why AP? They'll look for him not the Target Man.
Neckzz
Why Cautious? You want quick transition not cautious mentality. Why AP? They'll look for him not the Target Man. Cautious because Union Berlin had around 30-40% posession so we dont want to have the ball. I thought cautious is the perfect mentality for sitting deep and long ball transitions. I wanted the AP to pick up the ball and that the TF secures to look for the pass behind the defense. What should i change?
toshimitzou1
Can your Keeper play as a Sweeper Keeper? It is a specialised role tat not many keepers excel at. A GK Defend is vastly underrated and can offer stability and sensible distribution. You are asking to distribute quickly to a target forward on a support duty in a cautious mentality. You may well find that many passes are aimed at him when he has not yet established himself at the front of your attack and is still quite deep. If this is indeed an issue, an attack duty should hold him further up the pitch or you could remove the instruction to distribute quickly. I don't know much about Union Berlin but were all their players expected to dribble more? Run at defence is a unilateral approach to possession, whilst you may be better off applying the PI instruction to your WB's only if that is what you are looking for. Unless your two CM players possess traits like gets into opposition area or gets forwards whenever possible, neither of your CM's will be looking to frequently enter the box to support the striker based on the selected roles and duties. With three at the back do you need a defend duty holding midfielder? Also, if your looking to play long balls from deep you may benefit from a Deep Lying Playmaker instead of an Advanced Playmaker. At the moment, when you regain possession, your players will be in a split decision as to whether to play it long to the target man or mid-range to the AP in the hole. A DLP would instead serve as a pivot where he can offer cover and be the primary resource for those long balls from deeper positions. Based on your specifications I would set up the roles and duties somewhat like this: TF: Attack IW: Attack IF Support DLP: Support BWM: Support Wing Back Support Wing Back Support CD: Defend NCD: Defend CD: Defend GK: Defend In terms of Team Instructions: always trial and error. Once you get the roles and duties nailed on, the rest can be tweaked accordingly. I would note that get stuck in, tighter marking and more urgent pressing is a combination I would usually only execute as a elite team relevant to my opposition.
fc.cadoni
With Cautious you will have more possession, because possession is counted like chess clock.
