Youth Intakes - Added Depth/Depth Improvement

Youth Intake day is one of the most important/exciting parts of the FM experience. It is one of the highlights of the season and the user base (generally) look forward to it in the hope that they find a golden generation or wonderkid gem or two. Below, I have an idea to add some depth to this beloved feature, in which the we user/player, can (potentially) influence their intakes and add players to their club’s youth intakes.

Influencing Intakes -  Game Mechanic Functionality

- Big Idea - Create/Setup Youth Football camps to attract young players. This would be a completely passive piece of functionality except for the user/player choosing to create/setup a youth training camp and picking a location for that camp.
- Create greater granularity to Football Camp location selection. Like scouting, users will be able to create these camps in regions or nations, however, adding more depth to regions would allow for a more engaging user experience. For example, the User/Player can setup a youth football camp in a region (UK & Ireland), User/Player could then choose to create a football camp in a specific country (England), the User/Player could then choose to create a football camp in a specific region within the nation (South East England), the User/Player could then choose to create a football camp in a specific location within region such as London, The User/Player could then choose to setup a youth camp in specific regions within a city (North/East/South/West London).
  • To boil down the above point into a bite sized nugget, a team, for example Crystal Palace, would be able to create football camps in South London to attempt to attract all of the best local youth players to their intakes. Additionally, these camps have a greater potential to find intake players who are also fans of Team.

- Cost to setup these camps is entirely scalable and will come out of the User’s scouting budget. Longer Duration/Premium Location camps (Brazil/Argentina/Germany/etc) will cost more from the user’s budget.
        - Local camps/camps held at Team’ stadiums/training grounds will be much lower cost as standard rule of thumb.
        - International camps increase the user’s chance to find local talent from that region and could also allow for possibility of commercial success in that region due to increased exposure to your club. For example, Aston Villa create a youth football camp in China that lasts for 8 weeks, the camp will attract Chinese youngsters to the camp which in-turn adds exposure to Aston Villa in that region (China) which will then add commercial revenue through shirt sales, etc through the new international fan base

Nice to Haves
- Holding these camps annually adds scouting knowledge of that region without assigning a scout from the User/Player's scouting team to that region.
- Football camps would also potentially attract sponsorship or takeover interest from parties in that region (not a guaranteed effect from creating a youth football camp but can f ire at random).

Influencing Intakes - New Staff Role

The User should aim to hire a Staff Member that will fit their philosophies for their Team's Intakes.

- Create a new Staff role, “Head of Youth Coaching”. This new role would add extra influence to the quality of the youth player’s in youth intakes.  For example, the user hires a coach that has 20 attack coaching, the youth intakes, whilst that coach is assigned to that job role, will have more rounded attacking stats with a greater number of attacking players coming through the ranks. Same with Defensive and Technical coaches. If the user/player hires a more well-rounded coach stat wise, the youth intakes will have players with more rounded stats across the board.

Hopefully others like potentially like the idea - please feel free to debate below, Thanks for reading.
