Third Place Playoff League Ranking for Continental Comp

Hello all,

I have a domestic league I created in the advanced editor.  It has a championship playoff that includes a third place match.  The history correctly shows the winner of the third place playoff on the past winners page.  The rankings of that round have been set up for the winner of the third place match to be ranked "2".

I created a continental cup in the basic editor.  It is supposed to select three clubs from this country.  It selects the first two based on the winner and runner-up in the championship final, but instead of selecting the winner of the third place playoff for the third spot it takes the best team in the league stage.

Any suggestions of what else to do to get the continental competition to recognize the winner of the third place match?

 

EDIT: I realized that the continental competition is not recognizing the playoffs at all.  It just happened that the club that finished first in the league also won the playoffs in the couple of years I tested.

Isn't there something in fate actions or league settings to tell it which rounds/stages qualify teams for continental competitions

I think that would work, too, but I ended up re-building the continental competition and was able to use “get winner/runner-up/third-placed” in the Teams section.
